Doesn’t really look like anyone believes that Donald is going to come out of his stupid war with any kind of better deal.

The IDF has just issued an urgent evacuation warning for residents in Nabatieh.

They’ve been ordered to move North of the Zahrani river

“For your safety, you must evacuate your homes immediately and move north of the Zahrani River.”

It seems Israel are looking to move north with their land grab and potentially take land East of the Bakaa valley
Doing so would give them the opportunity for more attacks in Syria on more fronts and of course surround more of the Golan heights

If Israel is ‘defending themselves’ why increase lands bordering Syria.

What I said was " Israel have made & maintained peace with other countries so no reason to assume they couldn’t do it with Lebanon if Hezbollah were not in the picture". I didn't mention giving back land but imagine that is something negotiated during peace treaties as was the case with Egypt.

The Israel and Egypt peace treaty was signed in 1979.

The Jordan-Israel peace treaty was signed in 1993

In 2020, Israel, Bahrain, the UAE, Morocco and Sudan signed agreements to establish full diplomatic relations and set out plans to advance economic, security, and other ties (Abraham Accords).

I wasn't discussing peace treaties. I was talking about land theft. If two countries want to sign an agreement while one of the countries is occupying their territory, that's up to them. I personally wouldn't but I suppose it all comes down to how big a carrot Trump offered them. Most Emiratis and Bahrainis were not at all happy their governments entered into the Abraham accords and the pressure on the Moroccan government by the general population to pull out is immense.

Hey. Tell you what. Looking of the footage of that Castle and the country in general, it looks like a lovely country.

Green fields, orchards, meandering rivers, hill side villages, castles on rocky outcrops. Looks really nice.

And the IDF are demolishing it. They are basically doing agent orange on steroids. And agent orange did not work. The US were still defeated in Vietnam.

It is a lovely country. Rained a lot this year, and the rain only just finished about 10 days ago. Imagine this winter must have been a pretty miserable affair for Gazans living in tents, with inadequate fuel, food and everything else Israel has denied them.

Better to sign peace agreements than be in a perpetual conflict. Seems to work out better for the population than following the path of Hamas & Hezbollah.

Depends who you're signing a peace agreement with. Signing a peace agreement with a country who has openly declared on numerous occasions that their end goal is to annex your land seems foolish to me. Reminds me of a famous quote by Churchill. "An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last."

It wasn't an Einstein quote but you can apply it to Israel as well.

Those medics they killed was just collateral damage?

You're wrong on both points here. Einstein never actually said that and this is not the first time Israel has tried to steal Lebanese land. They occupied southern Lebanon for 18 years from 1982 until the resistance got too much for them and Ehud Barak was forced to withdraw in 2000.

Indeed. "if we bomb that building it will stop".

"That never worked. But if we bomb that building it will stop"

"Nope, lets bomb that hospital"

They did buy 12k bombs off Trump a couple of months ago, so thousands of more bombings to try yet.

That's rather harsh of you to say those medics they killed were just collateral damage.

Who did say it?

(I didn't actually say Einstein definitely said it, just that the quote is "attributed" to him which it very often is).

This on CNN just now.

So Katz is saying Trump agreed to reduced strikes. But Trump TRUTHED no strikes. Although Trump said no troops. And airstrikes do not need troops.

Should Trump not have TRUTHED reduced strikes ? And yes, Katz said strikes if Hezbolla done strikes. But that is the bit that is missing. Who fired first ?

Clip from feed here :

"Israeli defense minister claims Trump administration backs retaliatory strikes in Lebanon

By Dana Karni and Charlotte Reck

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz claimed on Tuesday that the United States backed a move by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to strike the Dahiyeh district in Beirut if attacks from Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah on northern Israel persist.

“At the request of the United States, until yesterday the IDF refrained from carrying out major strikes in Beirut … due to US efforts to reach an agreement with Iran,” Katz explained.

Katz alleged that Netanyahu told US President Donald Trump of Israel’s intention to retaliate against Hezbollah by launching strikes on Lebanon during a conversation between the two leaders on Monday.

“The Americans endorsed this principle and informed the Lebanese government and all relevant parties: Israeli communities will be matched by Beirut,” Katz asserted.

CNN has reached out to the White House for response on Katz’s comments.

CNN reported Monday that Trump pressed Netanyahu to scale back plans for military operations in Lebanon, according to two people familiar with the conversation. The sources said Trump at points used expletives to convey his disapproval of the planned offensive, which threatened to upend his efforts to broker a preliminary agreement with Iran.

The White House has not commented publicly on the contents of the Trump’s call with Netanyahu.

Katz suggested Tuesday that the southern Lebanon region should prepare for imminent assault as Israel’s position changes.

“If Israeli communities continue to be attacked, we will strike the Shiite Dahiyeh district in Beirut,” he said, adding, “There will no longer be a situation in which Beirut remains quiet while Israeli communities are under attack.”

DrPrunesqualer · Yesterday 14:26

‘After Trump's announcement, Netanyahu said Israel would continue military operations in southern Lebanon, where ground forces are pushing toward the Zaharani River, their deepest incursion in Lebanon in 25 years.’ MSN

so whilst Israel continue military operations in southern Lebanon there will be strikes against them.

They have aright to defend themselves don’t they and the IDF have invaded

What has that got to do with @TopPocketFind randomly questioning Palestinian medics being “collateral damage”?

It has to do with the insanity quote, Israel insist they are targeting Hezbollah but innocent lives get lost alongside.

Still, they keep bombing civilian areas.

And hospitals, and medics. It’s like Gaza on repeat.

CNN now reporting another hospital hit. As usual, the IDF say it was not the target, but Hezbollah "infrastructure" nearby.

And that is about it. We won't hear any more about it. There will be another tomorrow more than likely. Yet in the UK, if there was a single bombing it would never be forgotten.

CNN feed clip here :

"Four people were killed and 127 others were injured in an Israeli attack near Jabal Amel hospital in Southern Lebanon’s Tyre on Monday, the Lebanese state news agency (NNA) reported.
Among those injured were 39 members of the hospital staff with four in “critical condition” according to the state news agency statement.
Video published by Lebanon’s ministry of health shows damage across the hospital premises.
The Israeli military told CNN in a statement that the hospital was not targeted but rather affected as a result of strikes aimed at what they said is a Hezbollah infrastructure in a nearby area.
“The IDF emphasizes that it operates solely against the Hezbollah terrorist organization and operates to the extent possible to mitigate harm to civilian infrastructure, medical facilities, and medical personnel,” the military said in a statement.
Attacks on southern Lebanon continued even after Lebanon’s embassy in Washington said Hezbollah had confirmed it would refrain from attacking Israel in exchange for Israel ceasing strikes in Beirut."

They can talk about random stuff if they want just a shame to bring "collateral damage" into it unnecessarily imo.

No one knows who made the comment about insanity - but so sure who didn't say it apparently. It definitely applies to Hamas attacking Israel, and Hezbollah too.

Everyone has the right to defend themselves, not just countries you like!

Twiglets1 · Yesterday 15:58

You don't need to mention CNN every time @RedTagAlan - we know that it will be CNN every time you post unless you explicitly state otherwise.

Not being rude but it is one of the few sources you can get where you live in the "far East" and you say that yourself.

The hospital attacked is 12 miles from the Israeli border and south of the Litani river

This from the Guardian in March

‘ Israel says it will occupy swathes of south Lebanon and destroy the homes along the border to prevent the return of about 600,000 residents, prompting concerns of long-term forced displacement.
The defence minister, Israel Katz, said that when fighting with Hezbollah ended, Israel would occupy the area under the Litani River, about 19 miles from the Israel-Lebanon border, as part of its so-called buffer zone inside southern Lebanon’

Any excuses used by Israel that Hezbollah were there is nonsence. Israel have already declared they intend to take the land that the hospital stands on.
