Conflict in the Middle East

Trump is desperate. How can he resolve the Iran shitshow?

1000 replies

TooBigForMyBoots · 06/04/2026 00:32

He is flailing, desperate and increasingly unhinged. Weakening the USA, alienating allies and strengthening the enemies of democracy with every step.

How can he fix this?
Can he fix it at all?

TooBigForMyBoots · 12/04/2026 20:03

Well, I was wrong.

Looks like its back to more lies and threats of war crimes from Trump. More murder in the ME. More pain for the rest of the world.😒

I fucking hate that bastard sex offender in the WH.🤬🤬🤬

@GentleSheep thanks for that.
That's very interesting maybe it will.
All the cars are up in the air any unintended consequence may happen.

I dont think China or Russia will like this but do they went to take on trump ?

I'm hoping it's a smart move and it does work.
He said said they were going to sweep for mines and now he's blocked it.

He’s threatening 50% tarifs on China (was that not deemed illegal by U.S. courts?) who are only likely to reciprocate- as per every other time Trump has done this and done a TACO (Trump always chickens out).

My respect for Starmer has increased on the back of this. I don’t want to pay more to run my car, heat my home or pay for my mortgage. But I’d much more prefer the country that I live in doesn’t support someone else’s illegal war that’s killing children and adults that don’t look quite look like us nor threatening to destroy their infrastructure.

Can’t imagine Macron acquiescing to sending support after recent comments from him. Really smacks of desperation if that is what Trump is relying on.

Macron echoing what the world thinks: be serious and stop with endless SM commentary.

Indeed.

Adults need to have a word with him. War is serious, not a silly matter for ridiculous statements on social media. America is not the nation it was; he's made it look ridiculous.

A China threat !
It’s escalating and this is surposed to be a ceasefire period

  • .Iran’s Revolutionary Guard has insisted the Strait of Hormuz is open for civilian vessels, but says that military ships “will be dealt with severely”.
  • The statement came in response to US President Donald Trump’s declaration that the US Navy would immediately start blockading the strait, and interdict every vessel in international waters that had paid a toll to Iran.

Straits are open says Iran
but US to blockade
Trump wants the tariffs so he can pretend it’s a US win.

This is all such macho bullshit I just can’t stand the way he’s prepared to risk people’s lives and livelihoods so he can flex his wobbly muscles again

China is denying selling Iran weapons but equally they could have said that they are only selling defensive missiles.

Yes that's two fails this month! I think he should stay put now! 😂

US forces will start the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz tomorrow (Monday), CENTCOM says.

Not only that threat, but Trump is threatening to capture any ships that pay a tariff to get through the Strait - so will he capture a Chinese ship?! Madness. This is going to be very interesting to watch. A game of 'chicken'!

AlwaysAnxious32 · 12/04/2026 22:40

I cannot fathom just how Trump is getting away with all of this?! He's making America look absolutely ridiculous. It's actually comedy gold. Like, is this even real life anymore??

When is someone, anyone, going to stand up and say and stop the madness. I'm honestly baffled 😂

GentleSheep · 12/04/2026 22:45

Just listening to a podcast re the war, they were saying Iran is a huge country and if you look at Ukraine which is similarly huge, after 4 years of Russia pounding it, it's still got life going on there. Not defeated. So the US trying to pound Iran into submission is almost certainly a losing battle unless you get nukes out. Also they said the US will run out of missiles eventually, why, because they won't be able to get enough rare minerals to make them (which is why Trump wants Greenland) - Trump's been getting those from China, but why would China supply the US with more in this situation?

Twiglets1 · 13/04/2026 07:41

The BBC clarify that the UK will not take part in enforcing the US military blockade of Iranian ports.

British naval ships and soldiers will not be used to block Iranian ports, but UK minesweepers and anti-drone capabilities will continue to operate in the region.

I rather like that it's now called the Kiss of Vance.

He killed the Pope
He killed the 'peace' deal
He killed Orbán's chances in the election

When Trump goes, he'll probably put it down to having Vance as VP!

Twiglets1 · 12/04/2026 10:33

Of course the negotiations in Pakistan were not equivalent to buying a house, don't be ridiculous.

My point very obviously was, Vance saying "this is our final and best offer" should not be taken too literally.

This was the start of negotiations not the end.

lol gaslighting at its finest... YOU made the link to to buying a house....

Your opinion "the start of negotiations" hasn't aged well.

As you said "You aren't an expert negotiator" 😂

Alexandra2001 · 13/04/2026 08:46

By blockading Hormuz, he is escalating to involve China even further but what is really happening is he is strengthening Iran.

Trump needs to be removed, this could trigger a much wider conflict and or even deeper world economic woes.

Latest Trump poll on satisfaction shows 56% against, 7% not sure, and 37% for.
I can understand the 'for' group as being diehard supporters but how can the 7% look at the havoc and hardship he is causing and still be 'don't know'.

My only possible answer is that this group could be those who chant ALL is fake news and we can't know for sure because, what about msm lies etc.
The first rule of authoritarianism is to make you doubt everything, so you then doubt the truth.
