Conflict in the Middle East

Trump is desperate. How can he resolve the Iran shitshow?

1000 replies

TooBigForMyBoots · 06/04/2026 00:32

He is flailing, desperate and increasingly unhinged. Weakening the USA, alienating allies and strengthening the enemies of democracy with every step.

How can he fix this?
Can he fix it at all?

Don't get me wrong. Where I live is not a dystopian nightmare

@RedTagAlan I would consider having to rely on fair city for entertainment a dystopian nightmare 😂

Quite concerning about the fuel crisis..and what's more concerning is the number of far right agitators jumping on the bandwagon Dublin who are ironically pro Trump and Israel who caused the whole bloody thing in the first place!
I won’t derail but have to defend my fellow Dubs, I don’t know anyone sane who supports Trump/Israel. My insane BIL supports Trump but we all dislike him and try keep him indoors or at a distance.
The protest is staying peaceful. It’s lovely to see communities bringing in soup and sandwiches to the truckers, farmers and bikers. So far, so good. Let the peaceful protest continue.

You're not derailing. In fact I would argue that your post is a demonstration of the wide reaching effects of this war on the lives of ordinary people.

Out of curiosity, are you able to share your views on why exactly you think the Far Right in Dublin support Trump?

Sorry Emerald I most certainly did not mean all the Dubs were acting like that. I have seen the footage of the pizzas and the singing and the sense of camraderie. Im the other end of the country near the refinery and I can only imagine some of my 6th class pupils (rural farming school) are out there .

I have just seen on social media a few mentions of some right wing trying to join in and I would be terrified that would detract from the real issues at hand and scare off people genuinely concerned about the price of fuel.

Boolabus · 11/04/2026 16:46

There's a thread on the fuel protests in craicnet section if anyone is interested and prevents derailing here.

The far right, who support Trump imo are usually small minded racists who are against immigration. They think he is a hero for blocking the border and using ICE agents to deport people.

They've been easily influenced due to the high level of refugees arriving and some very unfortunate incidents that reinforce the far right thinking. It's a shit show.

In my BIL's case he is a racist, who hates gay men, he is poorly educated and has been sucked in by SM. He defends the indefensible.

@Martymcfly24 There is a risk they can take-over but so far so good. Families are hammered by the COL, this pushed them over the edge. Hopefully there is a positive outcome soon.

I won't derail any further but just to answer you. !

Mondo's judge was on something alright!(You know is victim is Saoirse Ronans dad)
Sharon is a legend!
(The acting is pure shite though!)
The Burkes are nutjobs ironically funded by the same people who support Trump.

Quote :" (You know is victim is Saoirse Ronans dad)"

Is Saoirse Ronan the guy giving Pete a hard time in the clink ? Only been watching a year or so and the whole thing confuses the heck out of me :-)

Agree re the far right from what I can see. I think Martin has a nuke option with the Turd... BOTOX.

I think all these protests worldwide against US aligned governments will defo damage the US come their individual election times. And that makes the far-right agitating in Ireland really odd I think. The Philippines for example are having anti Marco (US aligned) demonstrations. Agitated it seems by Chinese. Because it benefits China if they replace him at next election pro China. But the far right in Ireland may result in anti US candidates doing well.

Trumpists baffle me.

Why shouldn’t they continue to have authority over the waterways, it’s an unreasonable request based on greed.
Will Greenland be next on the agenda.
Who does DT think he is.
I can’t see a resolution without an agreement on joint control though they’d be mad to go into business with America.
This will end in more threatening madness from DT.

Well no surprise there really
The US has no right to other countries waters

They see Trump for what he is. Money grabbing

logicisall · 11/04/2026 22:24

I need a spread sheet to keep up with Iran War news.

Trump's Truths prove that he doesn't understand supply and demand

Iran's still the boss at trolling trump on sm

The fake ceasefire is on but Kuwait's still being bombed

US warships are in the SoH. Or maybe they've left

The SoH might be mined. Or maybe not

With no mine sweepers, the US is ahem, 'clearing out' the SoH, but Iran didn't keep a map of their mines.

Peace talks are going well. Or maybe not as the SoH is proving to be a sticking point

Pope Leo XIV (45th) possibly chewed out 47th for violating international laws

Melania might be the key to understanding Trump's need to constantly feed his ego, as he might have been having seconds from Epstein's table and it's about to come out in the open

Phew! did I leave anything out?

And that's how Trump sorts out the Iran shitshow.🤦‍♀️🙈

The unholy trinity will make the biggliest deal of all time. Trump will celebrate them greatly and become King of Peace.🎇🎇🎇

Then, shock!🤯
Horror!😱

It'll turn out Vance and Co. made a "bad deal". A very "bad deal" indeed. 😢

Can the POTUS remove/replace the VP?

The thread became a pile on is what happened, which I reported to MN once I noticed that the “joke” of putting a disclaimer directed at me beneath every post had also travelled to a different thread. That was a step too far in my opinion and MN agreed and removed the “disclaimer” posts on both threads. You can see the MN response to someone who questioned the deletions on here, and you can see how many posts got deleted across one evening on this thread.

We do all recognise each other’s usernames as you say and it’s important that we at least try to debate in a respectful way, albeit tensions get high sometimes. For one thing it undermines the seriousness of the topics we discuss on the CITME board if the discussion gets derailed by focusing on one poster rather than the actual topic of the thread.

Hope you asking the question and me answering doesn’t ignite the whole thing again @TooBigForMyBoots

To be fair the US will have made things better for multiple countries if they make the SoH accessible for them again without payment.

Yes they were accessible without payment before the war started so it’s the US mess to clean up. Trump’s hubris is grating as usual. But still - it’s good for everyone’s sake if the US are making progress in managing that situation.

Note that you do not mention why posters started to attach the disclaimer - it didn't happen spontaneously out of nowhere but was in response to you making unfounded inflammatory accusations - which were not 'respectful debate'

Hope that this additional information is helpful to @TooBigForMyBoots in fully understanding the reason for all the deletions

I notice that you have chosen not to address the elephant in the room of why people felt they needed to add the disclaimer.

I stand by my view that saying you only reported and didn't delete the posts (just look at the chain of sequences!) does not absolve you of instigating this travesty of justice and fairness.

But thank you for owning up. And I do mean that.

So the peace talks have concluded with nothing really to show for them and the US bizarrely posturing as if they have the upper hand.

Finding it all utterly baffling as it's clear that Iran via the SoH hold much better cards (in Trump-speak) than the US do.

Hope that this additional information is helpful to @TooBigForMyBoots in fully understanding the reason for all the deletions

One person added a disclaimer to make a point that they felt I was making unfounded accusations. Accusations that we feel are unfounded/inflammatory also happen to Israel supporters on multiple occasions too, by the way. We get accused of horrible things like not caring about Palestinian children dying and don't feel the need to all jump on a bandwagon of adding disclaimers to every post to make it clear that we do.

The reason I reported the thread to MN was that loads of other people started added the disclaimer to their posts too, as a way of mocking me. Loads of the posts have been deleted now but there were laughing emojis to show that all involved thought it a great joke, and were copy and pasting it onto almost every reply. One post that remains by @logicisall will show anyone reading this thread the general mood.

😂
I should paste it on a note so it's close at hand. I forgot to include it in my last post!

I didn't report the silliness at first as was ignoring it and just replying in good faith and hoping you would all get bored of it. You can see from all the deletions how many times it was happening. Someone then thought they would do it on another thread too. That was the final straw that made me report this thread (and the comment with the same disclaimer on another thread).

The reason for all the deletions was that MN agreed that they needed to be, to stop this thing that you all felt was a joke but didn't feel funny to the individual poster (me) being singled out in this way.

Some of you so dramatic with your talk of "travesty of justice and fairness" and acting like @RedTagAlan had a lifetime ban instead of a small suspension, which is what happens if you get too many posts deleted in a certain period of time. I've had a suspension myself in the past - people do tend to report you if you upset them enough - it's not the end of the world just something you learn from.

Those with multiple deletions should try thinking about how they would feel if all the pro Israel supporters were ganging up in making jokes at their expense.
