I was indeed suspended. Thanks for the supportive comments. Emailed HQ, they said suspended in error.
I don't really hide the fact that I live in a web restricted country. An authoritarian state. This site is my only way "out" onto western social media where I can chat without a VPN. Every other forum is not accessible now. Even for just viewing, Politics, fishing, cycling... all gone.. I don't use a VPN these days I used to but not now. Too dangerous you see. Ok for watching cat vids on YouTube, but talk politics, and that is into jail and deport territory. So for sake of family and esp DD, no VPN. Politics being a passion for me, I have written stuff on here that would get me into trouble. And I expect MN to vanish any moment. I have no idea why it is not blocked where I am.
Self censorship is fine up to a point. But there comes a point where it becomes massively disrespectful to people who are in jail for speaking their mind. Out of my respect and admiration for them, I know I cannot be silent if I have a place to speak.
The irony of course is, that whoever reported our posts is probably "fighting" for the Iranian people who live in "tyranny". That it's "ok", for however many to die in the cause of FREEDOM. Same as Trump and Melania say. Problem is of course they are going on what their concept of FREEDOM is. They won't budge from that.
When I see the people of the Middle East bombed, and people apparently "cheering" that on, or suggesting that it is "for their own good" or saying "they will thank us for it", "they will be FREE at last", or whatever variation of that, I don't really have to wonder too hard if they would be saying the same if it was the country I live in being bombed. The school my DD goes to...
It is indeed odd that whoever done the reporting is most likely also yelling "FREE SPEECH !"
I think it goes without saying that I oppose authoritarianism. That's not a disclaimer. That is a statement of fact.
Hey ho.
