Conflict in the Middle East

Trump is desperate. How can he resolve the Iran shitshow?

1000 replies

TooBigForMyBoots · 06/04/2026 00:32

He is flailing, desperate and increasingly unhinged. Weakening the USA, alienating allies and strengthening the enemies of democracy with every step.

How can he fix this?
Can he fix it at all?

The man is deranged. I had a nosey at his truth social platform, he cannot help himself, ranting and raving. Four posts tonight. Now suddenly Melanie wants to explain her connection or lack of to Epstein. 😳

I respect her for doing that - why shouldn't she have a voice?

The point is the timing, what’s the reason for her to say this now

In the beginning the war distracts from the Epstein debacle. It seems that now they are trying to use Epstein to distract from the disastrous war

No reason she shouldn’t have a voice but who has put her up to doing it now?

Isn't the timing mainly due to the imminent publication of Michael Wolffe's book which claims that she was in a relationship with Epstein before being introduced to Trump?

For decades, the US has been funding Israel to the tune of billions and providing weapons. This war is unlikely to stop that.

I agree, Israel would struggle politically and militarily without US support. Israel has been acting horribly with impunity for decades because of this support, blockading Gaza and seizing land for settlements. Yes it has a right to defend itself but has done lots of things that are just wrong.

So maybe the US needs to send a message that there are consequences.

I believe Iran has photos etc. that may be useful against the Orange pig, saved for this kind of eventuality. They are, of course, as Mrs Trump has said, fakes and smears. Imagine.

Aren't there already nude/semi nude photos of her around from when she was working as a model before she met Trump - seem to remember it was a bit of an issue during his first election campaign?

logicisall · 10/04/2026 09:00

I was about to make the same point @Theolittle. Why now? And I'm also very suspicious at the call for Congress to host a public hearing centered around the survivors of Epstein. Why not in February when Bondi appeared before the House Judiciary Committee and this happened?

The Washington lawmaker asked survivors in the hearing room who were willing to stand up and raise their hands if they have still not been able to meet with the current Justice Department.
“Please know for the record that every single survivor has raised their hand,” Jayapal said...
Jayapal then asked Bondi if she would turn directly to survivors and apologize for what her Department of Justice has put them through. The Washington Democrat called it the “absolutely unacceptable release of the Epstein files and [survivors’] information.”
Bondi refused and instead turned to the congresswoman and tried to bring up the previous Attorney General Merrick Garland.
(The daily beast).

Unless it's Melania playing 19D chess (iykyk) to detract from her husband's successful war with his pal Net, in Iran.

A string of rapid Israeli attacks killed hundreds of people in one of the deadliest episodes in the country’s history

There was a time on here, when I thought there wouldn’t be much to discuss after Brexit.
You can’t trust Trump, he is like an excited child.
It won’t surprise me when he publicly slates Israel next, threatening them, no one is safe from verbal abuse from Trump.
How does he have the time to go after Candace, Tucker, etc on truth social when he is in the middle of starting the biggest war. It has had instant repercussions on the economy, Dubai is over, fuel prices shot up, mass protests around the globe.
The army is coming to monitor petrol pumps, streets blocked.
Melania jumping in with her explosion before she is exposed.

She didn’t call for the files to be released.
Self preservation, she is getting ahead of something covering up for herself.

The survivors of Epstein are pushing back against Melania's statement. BBC News now..

No one knows why she chose to say this now but she is entitled to speak out whenever she wants to. And why assume a woman only speaks out because someone has put her up to it?

For reference, what Melania said:

The lies linking me with the disgraceful Jeffrey Epstein need to end today.

The individuals lying about me are devoid of ethical standards, humility, and respect. I do not object to their ignorance, but rather, I reject their mean-spirited attempts to defame my reputation.

I have never been friends with Epstein. Donald and I were invited to the same parties as Epstein from time to time, since overlapping in social circles is common in New York City and Palm Beach.

To be clear, I never had a relationship with Epstein or his accomplice, Maxwell. My email reply to Maxwell cannot be categorized as anything more than casual correspondence. My polite reply to her email doesn’t amount to anything more than a trivial note.

I am not Epstein’s victim. Epstein did not introduce me to Donald Trump. I met my husband, by chance, at a New York City party in 1998. This initial encounter with my husband is documented in detail in my book, MELANIA.

The first time I crossed paths with Epstein was in the year 2000, at an event Donald and I attended together. At the time, I had never met Epstein and had no knowledge of his criminal undertakings.

Numerous fake images and statements about Epstein and me have been circulating on social media for years now. Be cautious about what you believe. These images and stories are completely false.

I am not a witness or a named witness in connection with any of Epstein’s crimes. My name has never appeared in court documents, depositions, victim statements, or FBI interviews surrounding the Epstein matter.

I have never had any knowledge of Epstein’s abuse of his victims. I was never involved in any capacity—I was not a participant, was never on Epstein’s plane, and never visited his private island.

I have never been legally accused or convicted of a crime in connection with Epstein’s sex trafficking, abuse of minors, and other repulsive behavior.

The false smears about me from mean-spirited and politically motivated individuals and entities looking to cause damage to my good name to gain financially and climb politically must stop.

My attorneys and I have fought these unfounded and baseless lies with success and will continue to maintain my sound reputation without hesitation. To date, several individuals and companies have been legally obligated to publicly apologize and retract their lies about me, such as The Daily Beast, James Carville, and Harper Collins UK.

Now is the time for Congress to act. Epstein was not alone. Several prominent male executives resigned from their powerful positions after this matter became widely politicized. Of course, this doesn’t amount to guilt, but we still must work openly and transparently to uncover the truth.

I call on Congress to provide the women who have been victimized by Epstein with a public hearing specifically centered around the survivors.

Give these victims their opportunity to testify under oath in front of Congress, with the power of sworn testimony. Each and every woman should have her day to tell her story in public, if she wishes, and then her testimony should be permanently entered into the Congressional Record.

Then, and only then, will we have the truth.

"Hizbollah, which dragged the country back into war by launching rockets at Israel in solidarity with Iran last month." This latest conflict and these latest deaths, need never have happened. The constant jumping in of Iranian proxies. If The Houthis did the same then Yeman might have had retalitary attacks.

Fortunately, the usual allies in 'The West' didn't follow when Trump launched his attack on Iran leaving the US and Israel to their war. Restraint which avoided potential further escalation?

The other Middle Eastern countries also didn't jump in when Iran launched against against them. Restraint. There was a news summit condemning Iranian attacks and warning them not to assume by not attacking back they were weak.

Meanwhile, many innocent people die, talks occur and breakdown. No idea what the answer is. Men in power on all sides appear to be the problem.

See Melania's own comments re the "friendly emails" with Maxwell - a polite email response does not make them best friends.

Are we supposed to never send or reply to emails from people we have met in case they later turn out to be convicted of crimes?

Another obvious answer is that Iran stops funding proxies to attack Israel. Hezbollah didn't need to join in, yet they did. Around and around and around.

Israel exists and should exist. All countries would benefit if they ALL accepted each other. All had defined borders, all denounced terrorists who fail to accept this. All tried to be better for the good of all the people in all the lands.

None of that justifies Israel's bombing of Lebanon
