Conflict in the Middle East

Trump is desperate. How can he resolve the Iran shitshow?

1000 replies

TooBigForMyBoots · 06/04/2026 00:32

He is flailing, desperate and increasingly unhinged. Weakening the USA, alienating allies and strengthening the enemies of democracy with every step.

How can he fix this?
Can he fix it at all?

I've answered lots of questions this morning and bored of being interrogated now, time someone else answered instead of just asking questions but you aren't up for that so ... end of conversation I guess.

How rude. I did answer your question honestly, and went to some effort in doing so but didn't claim to know everything about the topic. You have posted a lot about something I don't believe you fully understand so maybe that has led to your feelings of "interrogation"

I'm focussing on Palestine schools because this whole topic of conversation started about 3 hours ago with me responding to a poster who mentioned schools in Palestine.

It's been non stop questions fired at me ever since which I'm bored of now unless anyone has something more interesting to say.

And I was talking to @RedTagAlan just now not you so with respect, you are butting into our conversation.

How about sending them a private message if you don't want others butting in on a public chat forum 🙄

I've turned a blind eye to you accusing me of "whitewashing" (racist term, by the way) and being out of touch with reality and I'm the one who is rude?

Definitely end of conversation.

Whitewashing is not a racist term in the context I meant it, you are mixing up the definitions of which there are two. So no I'm not out of touch with reality which is again pretty rude.

The Israeli military has again ordered people to flee their homes in the southern suburbs of Beirut, as it warned of more strikes that have already devastated the Lebanese capital.

“Urgent warning to residents of the southern suburbs of Beirut … The Israeli army is continuing its operations and striking Hezbollah military infrastructure throughout the southern suburbs,” said Avichay Adraee, an Arabic-language spokesperson of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

Israeli strikes yesterday killed more than 200 people and wounded 1,100 others, according to Lebanese authorities. The IDF said it targeted sites of the Iran-backed Hezbollah militant group, but Associated Press reported that several strikes hit densely packed commercial and residential areas without warning during rush hour, leading to widespread civilian casualties.

And so it continues.

Yes fine if you re able to escape, First Responders are bagging up the body parts of the elderly who stayed put as too infirm to move, they also say there is no Hezbollah in any of these buildings.

Its nothing but cold blooded murder.

Agreed. Lebanon has declared a public day of mourning with the death toll standing at over 200. They've said it's the highest daily death toll they've experienced in this conflict.

You used "whitewashing the reality" to mean making the reality look better than it was, so yes it is a racist term to use the word in that way.

@DuncinToffee

I don't mind Twiglets.

I was just doing a one post opinion. I disagree with your reply tho. I aint that well educated. And I don't agree with education being needed to know what propaganda is. Not many people where I live even bother watching the news cos they know it is rubbish. Really just the older folk, same demographic as watch Fox in the US I suppose.

But that's anecdotal. I will butt out now. Not my lane really, apart from experience.

You'll have to show me the evidence for your claim it's a racist term please.

The context I meant it in is minimising or covering up truths. Apologies to anyone who may have found the term offensive.

Edited to add I did find your claim that I am out of if touch with reality offensive

It's not offensive used in this context of minimising/covering up.... i ve heard it used over the rape gang inquiries and lack of Police action, its a common enough phrase.

The pp is just using this argument to deflect.

Whitewashing ?

That just means covering up ? I done a fair bit of whitewashing in my first job. Cheap and fast to cover brickwork, Came as a powder. Mix with water and slap it on. Lime based I recall so white.

Not racist at all.

Efacsen · 09/04/2026 16:15

The last time I heard anyone being accused of using 'whitewash' as racist term was nearly 30 years ago so this is truly a blast from the past

'White coffee' was also racist

Same place of employment

Wildgoat · 09/04/2026 16:41

The term white wash comes from the 16th century and was when you used lime and water to paint fences, it simply means to cover up.

it can be used as a racist term, ie if someone not white is accused of white cultural appropriation, they can be accused of white washing. but that’s clearly not what the poster was saying.

Gloriia · 09/04/2026 16:50

Oh can we all just agree it has 2 meanings one racist one not and move on Confused

Glad you recognise that is was pretty rude of you. Not expecting an apology though.

The man is deranged. I had a nosey at his truth social platform, he cannot help himself, ranting and raving. Four posts tonight. Now suddenly Melanie wants to explain her connection or lack of to Epstein. 😳

Nothing says peace more than starting a war. Now somebody else's children (not Barron of course) are on their way to the Middle East to reopen the SoH that was already open before his war began.

Or did you mean 'piece', as in a piece of Venezuel's oil tolls on shipping, or a piece of the money made by exploiting a volatile oil price?

To match Trump's recent profanity. Peace my arse.

Bit of an own goal then.

Pope Leo has been clear he is against what Trump is doing. And with something like 50 million Catholics in the US, the Popes words might have an effect on the mid terms,

It may actually be some twisted attempt to get the Noble Peace Prize?

Theolittle · 10/04/2026 07:28

I’m thinking now that the way out of this will be for Trump to publicly withdraw support from Israel, because they were the first to break the ceasefire in Lebanon, killing hundreds of innocent civilians in the process.

This could be a conditional withdrawal, but will let Netanyahu know he can’t just do what he wants, and will make the Israeli people question the war crimes being committed by Israel.

It will pave the way for Iran coming to the table about SoH and a more permanent deal/ceasefire

For decades, the US has been funding Israel to the tune of billions and providing weapons. This war is unlikely to stop that.
