mids2019 · 22/03/2026 12:06

Iran is firing missiles into heavily populated Israeli towns and have abandoned the pretence of targeting anything military.....this is just pure terrorism and does make you think what would happen if Iran did manage to develop a nuclear weapon.

Just hoping more of the missile launch sites can be taken out and this terrorist regime falls.

This is harassment now.

Really ?

So first it is accusations without evidence that Iranians are the worst terrorists on earth, out to get anyone and everyone , nobody on earth is safe from them. With the implication that bombing their homes and schools is justified. Watch out for Iranians at train stations and asylum centers !

And now you say you feel like the victim of a terrible and destructive crime from random people on the internet asking to see evidence for your accusations about Iranians ?

Funny enough, some flat earthers have a habit of accusing people of crimes online too when they get debunked.

Edit : spelling.

What’s going on? No one can prove between biggest / or major.

You can’t either way, when some one says it’s definitely not the IRGC or it’s Russia they can’t either.

Why keep going back

Maybe we can agree with the Brookings Institution take on the IRGC? Brookings is the most frequently cited think tank by the U.S. media and politicians, who on the Media Bias website get a rating of Very High for factual reporting and also high credibility:

  • Overall, we rate Brooking Institution Left-Center biased based on donations to primarily Democratic candidates and policy advocacy that slightly favors the left. We also rate them Very High for factual reporting due to strong sourcing and a clean fact check record.

Dr. Suzanne Maloney, vice president and director of the Foreign Policy program at the Brookings Institution, has described the IRGC as “the top exporter of terrorism and a deadly instrument of domestic repressions.”

Play the ball. Not the player.

As I said before, that often has to be said to flat earthers in discussions with them.

Except your posts don’t play the ball, they go for the player.

Notonthestairs · 30/03/2026 09:11

Suzanne Maloney leads the Centre for Middle Eastern Policy - which you will not be surprised to read focuses on US policy in the Middle East.

Brooking doesn’t appear to have an equivalent centre for the rest of the world.

What is surprising (perhaps) is that Russia isn’t actually listed on the US state sponsor of terrorism list at all. It seems like an odd exclusion given what we know of their activities in Syria, in the UK (Skripal), Taliban, downing the 2014 Malaysian flight etc. My understanding is that Russia wasn’t added to the list because it made relations more complicated.

So Russia was never going to feature on a US list of state sponsors of terrorism.

Instead Russia was sanctioned. Those sanctions have been partially lifted as a result of this war.

I thought we'd moved onto playing the player when you demanded Sharon answer the question she'd already answered more than once.

If you'd like a football analogy it'd be for example repeated fouls on the same player despite the ball having moved on elsewhere.

Shall we move along?

No link to the actual article then ? Just a single clipped phrase and a link to it's bias check.

There is a thing in the anti flat earth community called Mctoons first law of flerth. From memory it says : " Flerths citations never say the same as claims made"

Quote : " IRGC as “the top exporter of terrorism and a deadly instrument of domestic repressions.”

Is that the same as :" Its the biggest sponsor of terrorism in the world and a threat to all of us."

And more to the point really, is this Brookings paper/article/interview the source document used to justify the war, or at last one of them ?

You seem obsessed with the phrase.

I think I have made my point re making statements without evidence, esp when the statement is used for justification for a war.

It will be interesting to see how the other things going on are justified. Bombing ambulances and the like,

Not quite everyone- not those that support the IRGC - but hopefully they are very much in the minority on MN.

It is, it’s a forum the pp has an opinion. You’ve been a bit much on it with the repeated flat earther name calling etc but no one can prove either way.

Although IRGC as the top exporter of terrorism and a deadly instrument of domestic repressions is pretty good as a description and since no one on here supports them, we can all agree on it.
