Very disturbing

"BODIES AND BLOOD Piles of bodies and rivers of blood can be seen from space after thousands massacred in brutal Sudan killings
Experts say over 2,000 civilians were killed during the Rapid Support Forces’ seizure of El Fasher"

Oh my God!
Why, why, why won't they stop selling weapons to this disgrace? Why?
It is beyond horrific.

The UAE seem to be the biggest supplier of weapons for them.

Tbh I’m a bit surprised too, it’s not that I don’t think the conflict isn’t important, it is.

But there are something like 150k dead in Sudan, millions displaced, the scale is incomprehensible. It’s like everyone on Gloucester being murdered.

El-Fashar has 200,000 civilians, It’s horrific to think what will happen to them.

I agree the scale of the slaughter is unimaginable, appalling, no words really.

@Ihatetomatoes can I ask what is your motivation for posting about Sudan on CITME, Sudan is not in the Middle East?

The situation is appalling and hopefully those responsible will face justice as all those who carry out war crimes should

My motivation is that hundreds of thousands of innocents are being slaughtered with around 2500 in just a couple of days, its appalling, it doesn't make the news.

By the way UAE are funding weapons so Arabs heavily involved. Seems UK weapons to UAE end up there. That needs stopping.

I feel this mass killing of innocents deserves a thread.

I have answered your question, whats your motivation for moaning about this thread? It's appalling slaughter of innocents, it's possible to have empathy and sorrow for what happens in many countries at the same time. If it doesn't interest you or bother you, please scroll on by.

Thank you to the posters who share horror at what is occurring and astonishment that it goes on barely noticed. Those poor people. We are so lucky in many ways.

War, destruction, deaths in Africa have never been a media priority.
Rwanda's genocide was rarely mentioned in the media.
It's a lot more likely to be racism rather than "no jews, no news".

Yes

You think people are ignoring Sudan? A couple years ago 800,000 people died in Tigray and most people have never heard of it

I would like to see a tourism boycott of the UAE, they are absolutely fuelling this war

I did not moan about your thread I simply asked what your motivation was in posting regarding Sudan which is in Africa on the Conflict in the Middle East thread, the conflict in Sudan is both appalling and worthy of attention you would probably get more traffic on the main board

I agree. Without the weapons from UAE the killing would be greatly reduced.

It seems lots of mass killing is ignored. What sick/evil/power hungry/insert other words mainly men do to others in the world is just ...... frankly no words.

Yes, most people would not have heard of Tigray and the huge slaughter. Maybe, these are just too awful and unthinkable.

There is a really good article by young Sudanese journalists who have traced the conflict right back to 90s. It’s concise enough to digest easily but leaves you with a deeper understanding of it. If I find it I will
post it here.

SomeWomanSomewhere · 30/10/2025 06:28

Utterly horrific. Boycott the UAE and protest the UK government selling them weapons, please.

And, yes, I do think we have to stop selling weapons to murderous regimes, whether they be located in Abu Dhabi, Tel Aviv or elsewhere. No "but the economy!". I don't want my potholes fixed with blood money!

MonetsLilac · 30/10/2025 06:29

Because the pro-Israeli posters on this site seem to think that these conflicts are just things they can use to score points.

I know.
And UK is the UN penholder for this conflict.
But is anyone putting pressure on UAE or any other country that is supplying the weapons? Or putting pressure on these horror to stop? I have not spotted much, at all.
When the curtain fully falls on this we may find that these two armies killed more people than Stalin did! Plus the displaced, raped, injured, starved and traumatised.

MushMonster · 30/10/2025 06:54

Sudan was not considered part of the Middle East a while back ( when I was in school), but it is consider so by some many classifications these days. Search MENA.
This for a poster that was asking upthread.

Since Trump was elected there is a lack.of interest in supporting some countries.

"And what does it look like from Sudan, which is a country that the United States actually used to be interested in and cared a lot about? You know, Darfur was a cause that churches and synagogues in the United States used to follow and donate to and think about. There've been a lot of American diplomats - American charities have worked in Sudan. You know, what does the withdrawal of the United States look like from there?"

So now the killing can go on and on without the most powerful country in the world being interested. So no one cares, no one stops it. When people talk of interference from 'the West' then lack of interference or interest can be worse.

I think the scale of it is absolutely shocking.

I agree.

I think IMO that the US in particular has turned inwards and mainly ignores these type of massacre now. Many reasons but past mistakes and heavy criticism for getting involved means they don't bother now. So the people are left to it. Which means huge numbers of innocent people are wiped out.

MonetsLilac · 30/10/2025 09:12

Plus - the deliberate and inhumane nature of it. These aren't accidental casualties of war.
I don't know how the UN categorise these things, but surely war crimes are involved here?

Ihatetomatoes · 30/10/2025 09:16

The UN secretary general's office condemn "indiscriminate attacks' in El Fasher.

I am following this story more closely than ever. The stories coming out of El Fasher from survivors are awful. The dead are literally everywhere along the roads out. The Rapid Support Forces have control, to do so they didn't need to rape and torture though.

Most definitely war crimes. The UN have called it an "indiscriminate massacre" .
