Hamas targeting groups and clans in Gaza

Hamas appears to be preparing to exact vengeance on those opposed to its rule in Gaza. This will come in the form of mafia-like murders of those Hamas claims are “collaborators.” It will target clans and groups that have shown opposition to Hamas. It will also target those that have worked with Israel, or who it accuses of working with Israel.

A Telegram channel linked to Hamas said the group would target “collaborators.”

The BBC reported that “Hamas recalls 7,000 fighters to reassert control over Gaza as fears of renewed internal violence emerge following the withdrawal of Israeli forces. The mobilisation has been widely anticipated as uncertainty grows about who will govern Gaza once the war ends - this is a key sticking point for later phases of Trump's plan.”

Hamas has long used mafia-like gangland tactics to keep people in check in Gaza. This goes back to how the group emerged in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Hamas leaders such as Yahya Sinwar were known for brutally murdering “collaborators” back then. Sinwar is dead but his tactics live on. Hamas has lost a lot of its larger weapons but it retains AK-47s and can use them to murder people. Videos have already emerged of Hamas allegedly murdering people.

The brutality of the organization has also been revealed in a New York Times article that shows how Sinwar and Hamas planned to murder Israelis and burn communities on October 7.

Who else are the problem? Until Oct 7 the Israeli government provided Gaza with water and electricity because Hamas destroyed the infrastructure when they came into power in order to build rockets and tunnels. Bet you didn’t know that! Hamas are and always have been the problem since they were voted in and not allowed any more elections. If the ridiculous world leaders would listen to the leaders of most of the Middle East, they would let Israel take control, de-militarise Hamas and re-educate the population until an international body can go in and create a proper state for them. But that’s not an option now because apparently that’s not what Israel wants.. the truth is there, it’s just hidden by antisemitism and propaganda sponsored by Iran and Qatar.

I did know this. As I said, Hamas are a problem.

Who else are the problem?

This feud has been going on for decades and decades before Hamas formed in 1987.
Stating that Hamas are the only problem for Palestinians is ludicrous.

That's a ridiculous suggestion. Why on earth would Palestinians want a country who has just destroyed Gaza to take control. How could they trust them? And why would Israel want to do this after October 7th?

Until Isrealis and Palestinians can recognise each other's shared humanity and the right to a peaceful existence then there can't be a lasting peace.

I've never understood why people treat this like a simple situation with goodies and baddies. The world isn't like that.

This is awful - I'd really hoped that some good would come out of all the suffering, and with international co-operation Gaza could be rebuilt into something different and better.

Is it just going to be back to the status quo - a terrorist enclave with an oppressed population, and Israel accused of being the "occupier" because they have to have a hard border to prevent further incursions?

Can Israel withdraw even more and leave Hamas to UN / other groups?

They’ll need strong security but beyond that can they withdraw

I'm not sure tbh - I know there's a big buffer zone at present but I don't know what the plan/timeline is for that.

As an aside, did you see the reports that Mr Fafo was killed today? Apparently he was serving as Hamas photograher when they had a battle with that clan they're currently fueding with.

They treat it like goodies and baddies because that’s EXACTLY what it is. Unless you think a terrorist organisation with a manufactured identity designed to destroy an entire country because it’s full of Jews is… a goodie?

I was surprised to see this today about Mr FAFO. Seems like he might really be dead this time. Unsurprisingly, he is being called a "journalist" who was killed by Israeli collaborators. What a joke.

What if I told you its possible for both Hamas and the Isreali government to bad at the same time .....

You statement seems to a suggest that you think the fact that Hamas are bad automatically makes Israel's response good. That isn't how things work.

Bringemout · 13/10/2025 05:18

I saw people on twitter cheering on what Hamas are doing. They are just rounding people up and executing them. It’s pretty awful, they aren’t trying to stabalise and secure they are reasserting control of the Gaza strip. So many Gazans on twitter hate them whilst so many outside of Gaza are cheering them on.

They have been using ambulances to enter some of these areas to attack clans which isn’t surprising, sneaky bastards. I feel sorry for Palestinians, I saw one complain about being fetishised by pro-hamas “pro-pals” and he was right.

There's pretty much nothing that won't be spun and lied about.

Hamas aren't going anywhere. Sadly, it so far appears like they will rearm, regroup and plan another attack. They need a big buffer zone.

The poor Palestinians dont have a good future if Hamas remain. I wish people would march for Hamas to go.

Gazans on twitter? I thought there was a famine and genocide…? Still have their charged phones though. That’s a relief.

Yeah, Hamas will really take heed of people marching for them to go. Honestly.

I’ve seen it elsewhere that the Gaza tunnel system is longer than the London Underground. Here’s a link to a Reuters article mentioning a Hamas statement as to the size of the tunnel system (over 300 miles - the UK tube is about 250 miles long). Bearing in mind that Gaza is about 25 miles long, it’s quite a feat. https://www.reuters.com/graphics/ISRAEL-PALESTINIANS/GAZA-TUNNELS/gkvldmzorvb/

Weakened Hamas clashes with rival clan

Hamas has engaged in intense gunfights against a rival clan in Gaza City, according to local media.

Footage of masked gunmen shooting in alleyways in the Sabra neighbourhood of Gaza City circulated on Sunday, with some suggesting that Hamas was cracking down on the Dormush clan, a widely known family in Gaza.

A Gazan, speaking to The Telegraph on condition of anonymity due to safety concerns, said armed Hamas forces apparently launched an attack on the Jordanian Hospital in southern Gaza City.

The source said: “The hospital had been used as a refuge by the Dormush family after their homes were destroyed by the Israeli army.

“Hamas reportedly demanded that the family vacate the hospital, but they refused, leading to an exchange of gunfire that resulted in several Hamas casualties, including the son of commander Imad Aqel.”

Hamas has reportedly cracked down on both “collaborators” and rival militias following the ceasefire with Israel, in an attempt to assert its power in the territory.

But Hamas don't hide in hospitals???

Imperativvv · 13/10/2025 09:12

Gosh, here was me thinking Hamas always steered well clear of medical facilities.

Well they were emboldened by people not calling for them to go. Ceasefire has happened and Hamas are killing Palestinian people who stand up to.them. Marches didn't really achieve anything. There is a peace between Israel and Gaza at the moment and Hamas are reorganising themselves and ensuring Palestinian people stay submissive to them. I feel and fear for Palestinians who don't support Hamas.

Its how they move around and pop up.in different locations. Wack a hamas as they pop up. They kept some hostages in the tunnels too.

Of course they won't. Hamas are resistance and its not their fault they kill Israelis or their own people now, nothings their fault ever.

With Hamas finding 7000 fighters seemingly quite easily the troubles with Hamas aren't over yet

As with Afghanistan the fighters will always have been there, waiting for their next chance, but did anyone really expect anything different?

A death cult of terrorists needs someone to kill, and if Israelis aren't available then their own people will do - and yet with Hamas still intact and effectively running the show some see fit to recognise this as a state? Hmm

Edited to add, on "they kept some hostages in the tunnels too", would these be the tunnels some insisted didn't exist, and yet Hamas have claimed ran to 300 miles?

Its really sad for Palestinian people. Their own 'government' killing them now. They need an alliance of Arab peace keepers from Muslim countries. Non Muslim countries will just be accused of interference. The surrounding Arab nations need to step up and help Palestinian people built a better, brighter future.

I’m bereft for the children but the adults not so much. They supported Oct 7 until they started losing, they have no care for lives that aren’t one of their own and they’ve caused an awful lot of trouble around the world. I want them to just quietly go about sorting their internal leadership issues and rebuilding now but they won’t. There will be more rabble rousing, demands, skirmishes with Israel and no doubt they’ll find another reason for more marches.
