Hamas targeting groups and clans in Gaza

Hamas appears to be preparing to exact vengeance on those opposed to its rule in Gaza. This will come in the form of mafia-like murders of those Hamas claims are “collaborators.” It will target clans and groups that have shown opposition to Hamas. It will also target those that have worked with Israel, or who it accuses of working with Israel.

A Telegram channel linked to Hamas said the group would target “collaborators.”

The BBC reported that “Hamas recalls 7,000 fighters to reassert control over Gaza as fears of renewed internal violence emerge following the withdrawal of Israeli forces. The mobilisation has been widely anticipated as uncertainty grows about who will govern Gaza once the war ends - this is a key sticking point for later phases of Trump's plan.”

Hamas has long used mafia-like gangland tactics to keep people in check in Gaza. This goes back to how the group emerged in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Hamas leaders such as Yahya Sinwar were known for brutally murdering “collaborators” back then. Sinwar is dead but his tactics live on. Hamas has lost a lot of its larger weapons but it retains AK-47s and can use them to murder people. Videos have already emerged of Hamas allegedly murdering people.

The brutality of the organization has also been revealed in a New York Times article that shows how Sinwar and Hamas planned to murder Israelis and burn communities on October 7.

Half you a link for this? Were they in the tunnels? Recalled from where?

Edited

Its on the BBC news channel. Rolling across the bottom of the screen. I can't link my TV. Do you have a TV? Channel 503, its a repeated headline on the channel

This is all so desperately sad. Those poor Palestinians have been through so much already.

There you go, easy enough to find....

Hamas has recalled about 7,000 members of its security forces to reassert control over areas of Gaza recently vacated by Israeli troops, according to local sources.

The Palestinian group also appointed five new governors all with military backgrounds, some of whom previously commanded brigades in its armed wing.

The mobilisation order was reportedly issued via phone calls and text messages which said the aim was to "cleanse Gaza of outlaws and collaborators with Israel" and told fighters to report within 24 hours.

Reports from Gaza suggest that armed Hamas units have already deployed across several districts, some wearing civilian clothes and others in the blue uniforms of the Gaza police.

Tensions rose sharply and quickly after two members of Hamas's elite forces were shot dead by gunmen from the powerful Dughmush clan in Gaza City's Sabra neighbourhood. One of them was the son of a senior commander in Hamas's armed wing, Imad Aqel, who now heads the group's military intelligence.

With Hamas finding 7000 fighters seemingly quite easily the troubles with Hamas aren't over yet

Ihatetomatoes · 12/10/2025 13:53

billysboy · 12/10/2025 07:33

They will all be fighting amongst themselves before any agreement is signed on Monday
the Gazan people need to rise up against this , not sure how , unless they do it will be an endless cycle

Agree. Difficult for them though if Hamas still have 7000 fighters to call on. More moderate Palestinian people need help, hence the US soldiers?

Ihatetomatoes · 12/10/2025 13:56

Twiglets1 · 12/10/2025 07:57

Have a strong suspicion that what Hamas will do on Monday is hand over the hostages. But what they won't do is hand over their weapons.

So many countries have expressed willingness to help rebuild Gaza. But I think that could change if it becomes obvious that Hamas won't leave or demilitarise.

Frankly, who'd want to give multi millions in aid to Hamas so they can rearm themselves and steal it all.

That's why everyone wants Hanas gone, well, apart from their supporters , hamas themselves, Iran and Hezbollah, the Houthis etc....

People don't want to give aid to Hamas they want to feed the people Israel deliberately starved.

The existence of Hamas doesn't make it ok to starve a population.

Pasly · 12/10/2025 14:11

SharonEllis · 12/10/2025 13:41

Well they can't have been in buildings as I thought they had all been flattened?

🙄
The word recalled suggests they weren't in Gaza but that's just my interpretation of it I'll of course wait for the facts and read the article I can see has now been posted on it.

I’m sorry to tell you this but it was Hamas starving them. Hamas is the problem here. Always was.

EasternStandard · 12/10/2025 14:13

This is terrible. I don’t know how you’d deal with this.

How did 7000 Hamas operatives get across the border without anyone noticing?

I think they are all still in Gaza, never left, just hid amongst the population.

Sadly for the people in Gaza they are not the only problem.

I don’t think they have the capability against terrorists with weapons and tunnels.

I'm quite sure that's the case!

Imperativvv · 12/10/2025 14:22

I very much agree that people would love to feed the Gazan population without any of the aid benefitting Hamas. Sadly, that doesn't make it one of the options available to us, in the areas they control at least.

True I'm going by language recalled. I see it's now mobilised. Still no suggestion they were in tunnels.

We know that. We are asking where they could be as there are apparently no buildings for them to hide in.

PrawnAgain · 12/10/2025 14:16

Of course Hamas are a problem.
Sadly for the people in Gaza they are not the only problem.

Who else are the problem? Until Oct 7 the Israeli government provided Gaza with water and electricity because Hamas destroyed the infrastructure when they came into power in order to build rockets and tunnels. Bet you didn’t know that! Hamas are and always have been the problem since they were voted in and not allowed any more elections. If the ridiculous world leaders would listen to the leaders of most of the Middle East, they would let Israel take control, de-militarise Hamas and re-educate the population until an international body can go in and create a proper state for them. But that’s not an option now because apparently that’s not what Israel wants.. the truth is there, it’s just hidden by antisemitism and propaganda sponsored by Iran and Qatar.

Jujujudo · 12/10/2025 15:21

EasternStandard · 12/10/2025 14:17

I don’t think they have the capability against terrorists with weapons and tunnels.

Uprising isn’t an option against a terrorist entity like Hamas. I’d say that many Gazans support Hamas’s ultimate goal which is to destroy and take over Israel from the river to the sea. The ones who don’t have no options left because Hamas are too large and too violent to overthrow. I personally think that Egypt needs to get involved because they have a border with Gaza and are not Jews so they have a better chance of stabilising the area without being accused of trying to colonise or occupy.

Jujujudo · 12/10/2025 15:24

dairydebris · 12/10/2025 08:04

I'm worried Hamas won't have located all the hostages / remains and Israel will return to attacking.
Hard to have hope today.

Hamas has always been the problem and will continue to be the problem as long as they exist.

They’re getting hundreds of their terrorists back from Israeli jail in exchange for the hostages, they won’t back out. But they won’t surrender either.

Perhaps they were within the 'ordinary ' civilian population and just mingling in or not mingling and mow a ceasefire pop the uniforms back on.

SpaceRaccoon · 12/10/2025 16:42

This is awful - I'd really hoped that some good would come out of all the suffering, and with international co-operation Gaza could be rebuilt into something different and better.

Is it just going to be back to the status quo - a terrorist enclave with an oppressed population, and Israel accused of being the "occupier" because they have to have a hard border to prevent further incursions?

Twiglets1 · 12/10/2025 17:26

What??? Don’t tell me they’ve been hiding amongst the civilian population all this time!
