Conflict in the Middle East

Thoughts to the Jewish community in the UK

There is a massive rise in anti semitism in the UK and other countries. Jewish people here have nothing to do with the conflict in Gaza, nothing at all.

The rise in anti semitism is disgusting.

Sending thoughts to the victims, their family and friends. No one should feel terrorised in the UK. People should feel safe here.

There’s currently a flash pro-Palestine protest in Whitehall.
Utter scum.

The rise in antisemitism in the West has been orchestrated by Hamas propaganda ever since 7/10, and I would love to hope thta what happened today might give some people pause for thought. But I doubt it, sadly.

TherapyMe · 02/10/2025 19:49

Absolutely horrendous. Sadly I am not surprised though. This country is a cesspit. My thoughts are with the Jewish community and my Jewish students who no doubt will once again feel very unsafe on campus knowing that their community are targets.

TheJustJoker · 02/10/2025 19:54

I echo all of the above. What’s happened is beyond horrific and my thoughts are with those directly affected and the wider Jewish community.

"I never thought it would happen at my synagogue, to my friends, to my rabbi, in my city," he said. "But it's something that we feared would come because there has been such an inaction to tackle this wave of hatred targeting the Jewish community in the UK."

"Mancunian Jews have played a huge part in making our city the great city it is for 150 years," Mr Bloom added. "We're not going anywhere. We're proud Jews. We're going to stay here. But we need help, and we need this intolerance and this racism, and this Jew hatred stamped out by wider society without fail and immediately."

Action needs to be taken against anti semitism. Its not treated seriously enough.

I'm very sad for everyone affected by the attack today, whether they were a victim, in the synagogue at the time, family and friends or just feel less safe because they're Jewish.

HermioneWeasley · 02/10/2025 20:02

If you are able to, I suggest donating to the CST as a way of showing practical support (though it’s outrageous that the Jewish community have to fund and provide their own security to be safe)

Leoari · 02/10/2025 20:04

They said in their pro-palestinian matches ""globalise the intifada"..... this is the result. I feel real hate now for the British people who have been participating in these hate marches. They are only supporting Hamas/ Iran and are complicit in Deaths in Britain now.

Yes some people k ew what that means. Other useful idiots decided to chant along and made up definitions to pretend it doesn't mean worldwide terrorism.

Beachtastic · 02/10/2025 20:21

Is anyone else dreading 7 October? it's less than a week away.

Those pretending they can't see what's happening here in the UK are utterly beneath contempt in their malevolent arrogance.

But pride goes before a fall, and I think they are beginning to piss off people who wouldn't normally notice or care.

We have a big problem here and across Europe. The vast majority of terrorist attacks are islamist extremists. Stupid idiots chanting globalise the intifada and cheering the Houthis terrorists to target ships, wearing Hamas or Hezbollah colours, stupid placards with vile messages on, embolden the radical ones who walk amongst us. They do it in your names you stupid fools.

I was on my Facebook before and seen it on the news pages on my homepage. The amount of people writing “free Palestine” or just laughing at it was disgusting!

I feel so worried for the Jewish people in the UK, are they even safe anymore?

TicklishMauveSquid · 02/10/2025 20:36

Those poor people.

May the memory of the innocents who died today be blessed and the injured and terrorised heal quickly.

The British Government has directly enabled an attack like this IMO.

I was so shocked and disgusted when the pro-Hamas marches were allowed from the very beginning.

I couldn't understand how in an apparently civilised Western country, medieval style atrocities committed by Islamist extremist savages in a country far away would get government approval to be celebrated on our streets and calls for the annihilation of an Ally would be protected by the British police force.

I knew nothing about the global and ancient persecution and hatred of the Jewish people so I researched it and was horrified by the extent of it.

The real genocide in Israel on Oct 7th has ignited it like throwing a match to the flames.

All those who support it and hide behind the Palestinian cause (which is actually an ideological religious brainwashing to kill Jews) to try to convince themselves they are not the evil antisemites they truly are, have the blood not only of Jewish people but of the Palestinians as well on their hands as support and incitement rather than disgust and calls for deradicalisation has only perpetrated this evil hatred.

My thoughts and sympathies are with all Jewish people in the UK. Please know that so many of us value and respect you and are horrified by this attack.

Lou802 · 02/10/2025 20:59

It's terrible than anyone thinks it's ok to go round killing innocent civilians and awful that people are having to live in fear. The world just seems to be becoming a more and more hate filled place.

HellsBalls · 02/10/2025 21:08

The government recognizing Palestine as a state has emboldened the antisemites even more.

Yes, I feel sick thinking about how some people celebrated on October 7th two years ago, and I’m sure they will be celebrating again. Awful.

That's the level of pathetic displayed, writing 'free Palestine' and laughing at a terrorist attack in the UK involving Jews. People are hate filled, captured and pathetic. Would those idiots laugh if they were caught up in the next islamist attack.

Once again, a very all or nothing approach to these threads. I am disgusted by today’s act and even those who chose today to protest for Palestine. I feel awful for the victims and they deserve all the respect in the world, as do other Jews who may currently live in fear. I am “pro Palestine” though and this will not change that. I am not going to let some sick individuals represent what is overall a good cause.

You put it better than I could.
Unbelievable that an anti Jewish march is happening right now celebrating this attack.
