Seriously, when even the Daily Express are even calling mass forced starvation and putting pictures like this on their front pages.

Surely the UN could act as a peacekeeping force and stop this insanity?

People forget this. Forget how the Gaza Strip was carefully managed to have just enough to survive, far too little to thrive for long before this. How low-level but permanent child malnutrition was a serious issue even prior to all of the current horror.

And they wonder why Palestinians in Gaza are so susceptible to all sorts of diseases and to hunger.

I am genuinely out of words for how insanely inhumane the whole thing is.

Yes, this. People talk about the current famine like it came out of nowhere or like it’s just a tragic byproduct of war. But the groundwork for this was laid over years of calculated restriction, where Israel controlled the number of calories allowed into Gaza per person per day. The goal was never to let people thrive, only to survive.

And now we’re watching the inevitable consequences of that system tip into full-scale catastrophe.

That footage is absolutely harrowing. No one should have to endure what Rom and the other hostages have been through.

I really hope the media can hold space for this kind of suffering without using it as political ammunition. These are real people, not propaganda tools- on any side.
