There is no clean water left in Gaza

There is currently no access to safe drinking water in Gaza. Families are being forced to drink contaminated water from sewage or agricultural runoff.

This is a man-made humanitarian catastrophe- not a natural disaster. This isn’t just a crisis, it’s a form of collective punishment.

Gaza faces a man-made drought as water systems collapse, UNICEF says

GENEVA (Reuters) -Gaza is facing a man-made drought as its water systems collapse, the United Nations' children agency said on Friday. "Children will begin to die of thirst ... Just 40% of drinking

@FriggingInsomnia @Dangermoo

This is a more appropriate thread to discuss antisemitism in the UK. This thread is looking at the lack of clean drinking water in Gaza. It's important for both topics to be discussed in their relevant threads

Agree that if Israel back down, it will be annihilated.

Who would they be annihilated by? Do you read news? Do you struggle to perceive reality?

You're talking about reality, which means you're questioning the genocide on 7/10? That's fine, I just find it hypocritical.

@Hodgemollar The way wars end is when the losing side surrenders, or both sides agree to a settlement. Or there is a regime change.

No one expects the winning side in a war to surrender.

Apart from you apparently because that would be "easier."

'No one expects the winning side in a war to surrender.'

Are Israel winning? Think about it.

Needanight · 21/07/2025 21:14

Why do threads about civilian deaths always resort to 'civilians deserve to die because of x y and z' by those claiming the moral high ground?

You're obviously looking at it through a completely different lens to me. Genoicide in all forms is wrong.

Which side do you think seems stronger militarily, the IDF or Hamas?

Think about it.

0.015% of Israels population were killed on Oct 7. I think in any reality you would struggle to say that that shows Hamas have the power to annihilate the entire population of Israel.

That was their trigger for warfare. It worked, didn't it?

Hamas killed 0.015% of the population on Oct 7 and very few since then. How does that show that if Israel let children have clean water they will be annihilated which is your claim?

Dontthink · 21/07/2025 21:28

So sad OP. Can’t believe what we’re witnessing.

You wouldn't be minimising Israeli deaths would you? I find your use of maths rather crude. Again, hypocrisy.

You wouldn't be swerving the question would you? What makes you think a group that killed 0.015% of the population in their biggest ever attack in history would go on to annihilate Israel if people have fresh water to drink? Especially considering we are told that 20000 of them are now dead?

Martymcfly24 · 21/07/2025 21:37

Uisce for Gaza are an amazing Irish charity that was sending water tankers to Gaza. They initially sent a fundraising target of 20,000 and stopped the go fund when it hit 237,000 euro. In the past year they have delivered over 3.5 million litres of water (they are on Instagram videos are lovely)

They announced yesterday that they have had to pause deliveries as the water deliveries are being targeted and it is no longer safe any more.

The cruelty is beyond belief.

I bet I can guess what your interpretation of free Palestine is.

Egypt should open the border as a 3rd party, they have the power to do this - rather than expect Israel to do this for a country they are at war with.

There is no Gaza-Egypt border as Israel has had complete control of the Philadelphi Corridor since 1967 and have recently razed Rafah.

Israel have closed and controlled the Rafah crossing at will for the entire war.

Did we provide water to Germany when we were at war with them?

Germany isn’t a desert!! 🫠

SummerFeverVenice · 21/07/2025 21:54

Frummie · 21/07/2025 17:46

Has any nation at war ever provided water, food and electricity to its enemy?

Yes. And to be clear it’s not “a nation at war providing” water, food, power, medicine but a “nation at war” allowing humanitarian aid paid for and sent by 3rd countries to be distributed to civilians.

civilians are never “ the enemy”

Pastbedtime · 21/07/2025 21:56

Absolutely disgusting that people are actually justifying and advocating for the deliberate starvation of children.

theevidencesofar · 21/07/2025 22:18

Guarantee, if terrorists had run into the equivalent of Glastonbury here and raped and murdered over 1000 adults and children, we’d be pretty determined to see that terror group wiped off the face of the earth too.

Do you really think that people in the UK would sit back quietly and watch children a few kms away drinking sewage and starving? The UK has its problems but I don't believe the vast majority of people would think that denying babies formula and fresh water was the answer to a terrorist attack.

I don’t think you understand. The people in Gaza are being used as political pawns by their government in order to advance their worldwide goals. Hamas is just part of a much wider global network of extreme islamists who not only want every Jew dead, they’d also be ok if you, me and all our western values were crushed too.

War is utterly horrific and the only people advocating for the death of children is Hamas. These were the people who mockingly returned the wrong body home to a grieving family, who rejoiced in the streets over the murder of Israeli children.
