am trying to understand the report : can any one decode this financial info: from Financing the violations

As the main source of finance for Israel’s State budget, treasury bonds have played a critical role in funding the ongoing assault on Gaza. From 2022 to 2024, the Israeli military budget grew from 4.2 per cent to 8.3 per cent of GDP, driving the public budget into a 6.8 per cent deficit. Israel funded this ballooning budget by increasing its bond issuance, including $8 billion in March 2024 and $5 billion in February 2025, alongside issuances on its domestic shekel market. Some of the world’s largest banks, including BNP Paribas and Barclays, stepped in to boost market confidence by underwriting these international and domestic treasury bonds, allowing Israel to contain the interest rate premium, despite a credit downgrade. Asset management firms – including Blackrock ($68 million), Vanguard ($546 million) and Allianz’s asset management subsidiary PIMCO ($960 million) – were among at least 400 investors from 36 countries who purchased them Meanwhile, the Development Corporation for Israel (DCI) (i.e., Israel Bonds) provides a bond solicitation service for the Israeli government for overseas private individuals and other investors. DCI tripled its annual bond sales to funnel nearly $5 billion to Israel since October 2023, while offering investors the option of sending the return on bond investments into charitable organizations supporting the Israeli military and the colonies.

Isn’t Albanese the disgusting anti-semite who pretends to be a lawyer, has been sanctioned by the US personally and has been funded by pro Hamas groups?

That’s the one.

I expect she's naming names to give people something to target.
Would be interesting to see a financial breakdown of the hamas billionaires, I think Panorama did one, lots of property in Turkey, rather than useful infrastructure in Gaza. Hey ho.

I think Qatari influence is the big one to worry about with the USA, it has waaaay more money than Israel. How many Jews do people think are working on this full time and how much money do people think they have.

User37482 · 14/07/2025 21:30

What I don’t get it why does she keep saying she’s an international lawyer, she’s not even a lawyer. She has law degrees but doesn’t work in law. It’s like having a psychology degree, never actually doing any professional exams or practicing in psychology and claiming to be a psychiatrist.

Why lie so blatantly.

User37482 · 14/07/2025 21:31

GuevarasBeret · 14/07/2025 11:27

You say that as if it is obviously crazy talk.

But how would you assess whether it is true? I mean, at least the UK owned that they had a “Special Relationship” with the US (for all it was worth when push came to shove). Many people have independently arrived at the same conclusion, and you’re view is that it cannot even be mentioned?

Have you ever considered renaming yourself to “corbynstinfoilhat”

When I see Russia and China on human rights committees, or Iran on a committee for women's rights I wonder if it's some misguided attempt at 'community service' to help them see the error of their ways.
Then I give my head a wobble and realise it's the world of geopolitics....apparently size matters, who knew?

I think people have this idea in their mind that the UN is some bastion of fairness and perfection. In reality, it's only as good as its individual parts.

It's individual parts includes Iran, Russia, China and more, so it's very hard to get fairness when countries don't want to be fair to you.

Their staff include some great people, and also some activists who dont think Israel should exist. They exploit the name of the UN to add credence to their views.

The entire UNRWA operation is a disaster. Whatever way you dice it, Objectively a UN agency was propping up terrorism and there's no question they played a big role in creating the current war.

It's hard to imagine a more obvious antisemite than Albanese, but here we are with her being rolled out as a UN representative.

It's great America sanctioned her. Shame everyone didn't.

Murica · 15/07/2025 01:32

I would would write a post but I'm being subjugated by the Jewish lobby in the US so I can't. Shh, don't tell them I told you.

I don't know what's more depressing, the fact that people here are supporting genocide or that this site allows it. I don't suppose they understand how it even works.

No, absolutely nobody supports genocide or any murder.
There are so many people going through humanitarian crises right now.
I just can’t get my head round how so many are going OTT over Gaza when a far bigger humanitarian crisis is happening in Sudan.
It’s a world of hate and fear that is spreading 😔

Some of us are capable of looking in several directions at once. If you are obsessed with gaza and nowhere else time to ask yourself why.

Why lie so blatantly? Because gullible people just believe what they read on the internet with no fact checking. Especially if it matches with what they want to believe.

Imagine if all those graduates with law degrees working in different fields suddenly started calling themselves “lawyers”. Would be laughable.

I used to assume the UN was an organisation to be trusted.

This war has shown my naivety and I no longer trust their impartiality on anything.
