Israels plan for Gazas future

Defense Minister Israel Katz said Monday that he has instructed the IDF to prepare a plan to establish a "humanitarian city" on the ruins of Rafah, which would eventually house the entire population of the Gaza Strip.

According to Katz, the plan involves moving 600,000 Palestinians, primarily from the al-Muwasi area, into the new zone after security screening. Once inside, residents would not be allowed to leave, the defense minister said.

Katz added that, if conditions permit, construction of the "city" would begin during the 60-day Israel-Hamas cease-fire currently under negotiation.

@DrPrunesqualer ”Annihilation is a term I believe to be accurate.”

The explanation literally gives the example of ‘the brutal annihilation of millions of people.’

Where have the IDF annihilated millions of people?
There seems to be a lot of effort, since October the 8th 2023 (after the massacre partying ended and the repercussions began) to conflate, using the same language that accurately described the Holocaust, to the plight of Gaza.
It’s nothing of the sort. Right minded people can see this. Right minded governments also, which is why no one has come to the rescue.
Because it isn’t a holocaust, an annihilation, a genocide.

It’s not if you look up the broader meaning and usage. Others have also used it in articles on Gaza. I’m fine with the word.

I agree from a current % of the population this is correct. However. - the term has been used by others, - it has been and can be used to describe destroyed infrastructure alone - it doesn’t have to be just about % of deaths. Hence, I’m fine with the word but I’m glad I checked so thanks to those who queried it.

No you said 'annihilating a population' . Population is by definition people. It never ever means infrastructure.

You’re quite correct I did. So. Strike that. The rest still stands though.

By all means, keep showing your true colours. Very illuminating.

Are you threatening me here?

Except for logically and practically if you annihilate and destroy all the instruments needed to sustain life (food and water production, shelter, hospitals) you are indirectly destroying a population.

How did you make that Wierd jump ? You just called a poster a terrorist !

Edited

Well, that poster did denounce someone for betraying their fellow Hamasniks.

Saying someone betrayed his people family etc etc ? That doesn’t warrant you accusing them of being a terrorist !

Firstly, you need to stop using hyperbole. That poster was expressing support for Hamas, however I have not accused them of being a terrorist per se so don't be silly.

You seem a bit lost - maybe you need to look up Mosab Hassan Yousef's family background.

All I need to see is the comment of yours. That’s what I was referring to. You called a poster on here a terrorist. !!! Im not discussing your comment anymore I think Clara’s comment is an excellent one to follow.

Wow, this is just 🤦🏼‍♀️

That we have to tolerate this for objecting to genocide.

Nothing that I've read indicates this at all. Support for the Palestinian people doesn't equal support for Hamas. We've been through this about eight thousand times on this board. It's really tedious and it's just so.......basic.

All this is just wasting people's time. Nobody honestly believes what's being put out. People are more sophisticated now and better informed. Information can come from many sources. They're not falling for this woefully simplistic narrative. The things I'm reading online by ordinary citizens clearly indicates this. The war is being lost. We're not stupid.

And obviously Hamas is proscribed and supporting them is illegal and a recent report exposed in detail the extent of tbe threat posed in the UK by Iran.

quantumbutterfly · 15/07/2025 23:34

@SharonEllis it's rage bait, don't bite. The war is being lost? Who says such things?

BelleHathor · 15/07/2025 23:35

Veiled has not openly supported Hamas (a proscribed terrorist entity in the UK). All Veiled has done is have a different opinion saying that they don't believe that the subjugation and bombing of a captured population will not lead to peace (as evidenced numerous times in history) and that the consequences for Israelis and unfortunately for the Jewish diaspora around the world after the barbarity shown by the Israeli government will not be good. A fact echoed in the Mandy Patankin video.

On Iran, whats wrong with writing positive things about Iran (a diverse population of 90+ million people of different religions and ethnicities). Do people ever consider that others may have different life experiences.

After the "weapons of mass destruction" and other such lies to manufacture consent for intervention in the region perhaps people are wary. Especially now that the same entities labelling Iran are same entities that look away or are actively engaged in crimes against humanity in Palestine and other countries around the world.

The absolute joke of Western intelligence agencies who have armed, funded and trained "Terrorist" groups over decades (Mujahideen in Afghanistan, Contras in Nicaragua, Muslim brotherhood in Egypt) trying to call other countries names.😅
