Israels plan for Gazas future

Defense Minister Israel Katz said Monday that he has instructed the IDF to prepare a plan to establish a "humanitarian city" on the ruins of Rafah, which would eventually house the entire population of the Gaza Strip.

According to Katz, the plan involves moving 600,000 Palestinians, primarily from the al-Muwasi area, into the new zone after security screening. Once inside, residents would not be allowed to leave, the defense minister said.

Katz added that, if conditions permit, construction of the "city" would begin during the 60-day Israel-Hamas cease-fire currently under negotiation.

Nothing that I've read indicates this.

The risk to the UK from Iran is a separate issue altogether. It doesn't detract from the seige of Gaza though, just as the existence of Hamas doesn't. Who was it that set up Hamas again?

We're very well acquainted with islamist terror threats in the west and will continue to be well acquainted with them due to the ongoing policy of government. This is something we will be forced to cope with from now on.

It doesn't justify genocide though.

@SharonEllis it's rage bait, don't bite. The war is being lost? Who says such things?

Me, I said it. The propaganda war is long lost.

Not everyone has an agenda y'know 😉

That it would even enter her mind to talk in those terms about someone who chose to leave Hamas, as a 'traitor'. Quite passionately in fact.

Are people really too dim to see that these are the words of a supporter?

It's not subtle.

Insanityisnotastrategy · 16/07/2025 00:04

And we shouldn't swallow the Western view of Iran.

And Zionism isn't illegal 'yet'.

And financial support rewards for the families of terrorist killers is fine.

And the threat from Hamas doesn't matter.

All her words.

Why are you asking about the green prince? A man who was kidnapped as a boy by the IDF? And was subjected to god knows what horrors that it broke him to the level that he betrayed his own people, his friends and his family and even his own father? The anger and shame is blatant just by looking at his eyes. The reason he converted to Christianity is that he craves forgiveness as Christianity is a religion of forgiveness.

He is a Palestinian who actually lived in the region (West Bank), brought up in a Hamas founding family within Hamas, who has lived experience of terrorism and carried out intelligence operations on both the Hamas and Israeli side, whose voice is dismissed by by pro-Palestinians because it doesn’t fit the Pro-Palestinian narrative.

Mandy’s voice is not dismissed by pro-Palestinians as a Jew who was born and brought up outside of Israel, with his only terrorism experience coming from acting as an intelligence operative in a TV show and his narrative fits the pro-Palestinian narrative.

Do you not see a glaring miscorrelation there?

Mosab Yousef was kidnapped by the IDF as a boy?

You mean convicted of terrorism offences at the age of 18, although he was arrested several times before that.

The horrors he was subjected to including being raped and beaten as a young child and seeing other Palestinians tortured and murdered come from the Hamas side, (although he says he was tortured by Israel too and explains that in first video linked below), that’s why he decided to ‘betray’ his own people saving hundreds of lives by preventing suicide attacks in the process. Anyone who is really on the side of the Palestinians, children in particular, should be listening to him.

Your take on his own story that he’s related himself on numerous occasions is quite stunning in it’s delusion.

Here he talks about his times in prison:

This is about his father:

This is about him choosing to follow Christianity and he states quite clearly that happened while he was still living in the West Bank and BEFORE he ‘betrayed’ his father:

It’s actually quite long that one but quite compelling in how he sees things, although he’s also extremely clear on how he sees Islam which some may find offensive. That is 13 years old so he was speaking out like that long before the current conflict.

So many of their posts get deleted ... not necessarily a female. Not that their sex matters. I'm surprised they are still posting after so many deletions though.

Veiled has said some questionable things about Iran but she never said Hamas was no longer a threat to Israel - that was a distortion (deliberate or otherwise) of her words. What she said was that Israel now posed a bigger threat to itself than Hamas. She was clearly referring to the reputational damage being caused by the government and possibly the hatred that they will now make worse for future generations.

If I was Israel I would take temporary reputational damage from the current right wing government over being destroyed completely by Hamas which was their goal.

At least there will be future generations which there wouldn't have been if Iran and their proxies like Hamas got their way.

And that is an opinion you are perfectly entitled to have and plenty of other people share. Lots of others do not. My post was merely in the interests of fairness. I’ve followed these threads quite closely and was actually quite shocked by the pile on Veiled got after extracting a clause from her comment, rather than the whole sentence!

Fair enough yes people are entitled to express different opinions I agree.

If you follow these threads closely you would have seen many of the personal attacks they aimed at others that got deleted by MN for breaking site guidelines.

It's a shame you haven't spoken up to defend posters that Veiled attacked in the past rather than speak up to defend them now.

But also - yes - you are entitled to defend who you want to defend.

Tooblondetooyoung · 16/07/2025 08:03

Shall we get back to the topic at hand again...

There is constant effort here to divert the topic from what this thread is about - the proposed concentration camp for Palestinians. I know it's easier to distract and go 'but Hamas' rather than attempt to defend the insensible, but it's so blatant.

So what's the latest on this plan?

HellsBalls · 16/07/2025 08:22

@Tooblondetooyoung ”There is constant effort here to divert the topic from what this thread is about - the proposed concentration camp for Palestinians.”

More hysterical language.

Hysterical language specifically chosen to offend and trigger people.

I'm not engaging with people who use that term anymore.

It's receiving widespread condemnation internally which is a good thing but we have seen Netanyahu does not tend to listen to moderates.

But even those within Israel are calling it a concentration camp. The former prime minister. You can disagree but I don’t think you can claim it is specifically chosen to offend. What would you call it?

Surely the IDF chief couldn’t be said to be a moderate. Although he seems to be mainly concerned that it is unworkable. So it probably is actually not even viable from a pure and cold logical point of view.

That is very true.ill rephrase that

He doesn't listen to voices that have even one tiny ounce of humanity (unlike Gvir/Smotrich etc who are genuinely worrying in their outlook -I had another word but it would probably be deemed hysterical)

Hopefully @ForgesOfEmpires will come back with that UN report that she was asked for after she stated 72% of the dead were men .
