Why kill Dr Marwan Sultan?

Just that, why kill one of the few (2) cardiologists and his WHOLE family? So much for the targeted attacks. Or shall we go with the current zionist theory that all of Gaza is a sleeper cell.
Israel needs to be held to account for the hell they have created.

Hamas gave Netanyahu a convenient excuse to commit the atrocities he’s been so despratae to do. It’s utterly naive to think that he will just stop the ethnic cleansing if any remaining hostages were released.

Time will tell because obviously a ceasefire will be agreed at some point and the hostages released.

Possibly sooner than we think from what I’ve been reading recently.

'You seriously cannot turn up at any random location and say God gave me this land and I want it so now leave.'

Thats not what happened tho. I think its a common misconception. No one was initially expected to leave their houses. The intention was to give the Jewish nation a homeland, which I hope no one here technically objects to. Jew and Arab had lived alongside each other in varying degrees of peace and bloodshed for hundreds of years. Instead of 2 mixed nations with Arabs continuing to live alongside Jews and vv, the Arabs decided there was to be no space for Jews at all, and started a war of annihilation against the brand new nation of Israel ( still reeling from the Holocaust- can you even imagine ). If they had just accepted the borders then there would now be a mix of people with no one forced to leave their homes. But instead war was declared and Israel forced to defend herself. Violence ensued. Some people left their homes under threat of violence. Some people left of their own choice ( on both sides ) The Arabs who stayed in their homes are still in Israel now. How many Jewish people were also expelled from other nations all around the Middle East?

The birth of a new nation is always messy. A war always includes atrocities. A war by necessity opens the door to the absolute worst in us. Its not condoning such atrocities. Its just knowing the human psyche. The war should not have been started back in 1948. The local Arabs, accompanied by other Arab League nations started that war to remove every last Jew from Islamic land. What other choice did Israel have other than to fight back?

Theres an interesting mirror with the institutional racism in the US here.

You either accept black people are more likely to commit crime because of their innate nature, or you think to yourself, hang on that can't be right, you look into it and you discover more about the institutions they've grown up through.

You either actually believe Israel is a uniquely bad lot of humans or you look deeper into the reasons why they do what they do and try to understand the history.

I admire your patience!

I’ll take your silence as affirmation @TakeMe2Insanity

Or maybe that I went to bed, was dealing with my children, you know all the things that normal mums do, that Israelis do, that Palestinians are unable to do in their homes in Gaza.

The world is waiting for Israel to vote in a moderate government. That is something everyone can agree on.

@SharonEllis
I believe it takes patience from both sides to get their views across. However we reach a point where there is agreement.

So- the death of this Cardiologist and his family at the hands of the IDF was tragic. Whilst it could have been prevented by Hamas giving up their weapons and releasing hostages, it was the Knesset that allowed the IDF to release the bomb that actually killed the family due to their own political reasons for not wanting to end the war.

Do you hate Israel more than Hamas?

dairydebris · 03/07/2025 12:22

Just your little reminder that Hamas can also stop this anytime by surrendering, disarming, and handing back the hostages.

Dr Marwan Sultan would still be alive now if Hamas had done this.

Absolutely needless waste of precious life.

So because a bunch of terrorists wont do the right the right thing, innocent people are targeted and murdered?

Israel is clearly going about killing as many healthcare workers as they can, yet still there is an element who defend this behaviour.

And “won’t do the right thing” is a bit of an understatement!

In fact there are so many wrong things said in that post it’s not worth responding to.

When 'not doing the right thing' is the absolute core of their being, from oppressing their own people and destroying any hope for their future, to launching a genicidal war they couldn't win.

Exactly … my dog is “not doing the right thing” when he digs holes in the garden.

What Hamas do is pure evil.

Hamas are evil but what the Israelis are doing is evil as well.

Sigh… they aren’t targeting healthcare workers. There is no logical reason they would do that.

Healthcare workers are being killed because Gaza is a war zone, so are many other people that aren’t healthcare workers.

In case you weren't aware there are Israeli mum's on here, they write about running to shelters/safe rooms through the night and day with their kids. Of being constantly aware of where the public shelters are when out and about, or in the absence of one, lying on the ground covering their kids as the missiles go over. (A common occurrence since hamas took over Gaza 20 years ago when all Israelis left, and then in cahoots with Hezbollah in Lebanon started lobbing thousands of rockets over or strapping on suicide vests to use in crowded cafes & buses.)

Healthcare workers are being killed because Gaza is a war zone, so are many other people that aren’t healthcare workers.

But even in war there is international law to follow.
What threat was being faced by Israel to make this killing proportionate? The IDF don’t even bother telling us as Palestinians lives seem meaningless to them.
Do we know which Hamas big wig the IDF was aiming for the when they killed this family? If not - how can we know it was proportionate?

That is not true. Doctors have even died whilst being held in Israeli custody. Like Dr Adnan Al Bursh who was featured in the film and murdered in the notorious sde Teiman prison.

Whatsinanamehey · 04/07/2025 09:20

What about the medics who Israel killed point blank and buried their ambulances? From the start of the war there has been a systematic attack on the health care system in Gaza.

No cause of death was given by the Israeli prison service and when probed they say what they always do. They will 'investigate' themselves.

Edited

You’ve answered it yourself - we don’t know why this family got killed.

I can’t change the way some of you hate Israel so much that you will always assume the worst of the IDF and believe they are targeting all the most emotive groups … women, children, healthcare workers for what… fun?

To me it’s a lot more likely that they were targeting Hamas but there is no point me trying to make you believe that because you just believe that IDF = Bad.

@dairydebris this is a blatant lie.

Have you read the story of Bella Hadid grandparents. They literally had to leave their house because of refugees from Poland they took in as Lodgers who kicked them out

There are countless stories like this .

In December 1948 Israel passed Emergency Regulations Regarding Absentee Property this meant Israel could seize the property of anyone that fitted the term absentee.
However "absentee" refered to anyone who was a citizen of an Arab state or went to an area not under Jewish control. If they left their house for one day it could be seized as it was classed as an abandoned property.

So they were expected to give up their house and still to this day this continues. They also have to pay for the demolition of their own houses.
