I personally think it's a dangerous road to go down to conflate wanting the end of a occupying foreign army currently engaged in mass slaughter with wanting the end of Jews. It seems like lots of people are very eager to strengthen that connection though between the IDF and Jews. I'm not sure why, it doesn't seem to be achieving anything but it doesn't effect me so if that's why they want to spend their time doing they can crack on.

The crowd were calling for the end of the IDF without considering what the end of the IDF means, just like you just did.
They were calling for the nation of Israel to have no defensive force.

A criminal investigation has been launched into the Glastonbury performances of Kneecap and Bob Vylan.

Police announced the decision on Monday afternoon after reviewing video footage and audio of both sets, which took place on Saturday.

Clare Moody, the Police and Crime Commissioner for Avon and Somerset, said she “understood the legitimate concerns raised and the potential impact of these performances”.

She said: “I want to be clear that any incitement to violence is not acceptable and will not be tolerated in Avon and Somerset.

“Avon and Somerset Police have confirmed to me that they are undertaking an investigation. It is important that the police follow operational procedures and investigate carefully and thoroughly, as they would in any reports of this kind.

“I want to reassure our Jewish communities that any concerns you have about your safety will be taken seriously by Avon and Somerset Police.”

Kneecap are just being included in this for press. They didn’t say a single thing that was antisemitic, or would be classed as hate speech.
There was nothing remotely illegal in the performance.

No one is saying that the IDF are a race.

However, their soldiers are predominantly Jewish. And it is their job to defend Israel from those like Hamas who have pledged to obliterate all the Jews.

Not in this performance anyway.

And we are discussing kneecap being shoehorned into this investigation because someone else chanted “death to the IDF”.

Personally, I wouldn't expect the police to prosecute Kneecap but I would expect them to prosecute the other idiots. We'll see.

Kneecap were heard accusing Israel of genocide and chanting “free, free Palestine,” while voicing support for Palestine Action, a protest group that the UK government intends to proscribe under anti-terror laws.
