Not really surprised but shows the level of New hatred that IS spreading in the US. Scary times and hope nothing like that happens here.

Washington DC shooting: Two Israeli embassy staff killed in attack near Jewish museum

The man and woman were shot while leaving an event focused on helping Gazans at the Capital Jewish Museum.

Maybe the people criticising Israel for the famine about to hit Gaza should focus their attention on the Hamas terrorists who have been diverting the aid to themselves, and who have been selling surplus aid to the Palestinians at over inflated prices. That's the reality here. But pro Palestinians ignore that fact, and prefer to put the blame 100% at the door of the Israeli government. Hamas don't give a toss about the Palestinians. This whole situation is all about them. And always has been.

Everyone understands about Hamas and the aid, no one condones it.

Does it justify the collective punishment of starvation on a whole population?

Once again the narrative of Hamas suits the Israeli Government to achieve their ultimate aim which is herd the whole population down south and make it so uncomfortable they will all leave . (Or as Smotrich said "totally despairing")

And their aim is achieved: total annexation of the Gaza Strip.

Why did they bomb a doctor’s home?

How would I know? I’m not party to the IDFs decisions about where to bomb!

According to officials in Israel, Hamas has taken around 10% of the aid that has gone in since the start of the war, to survive and to sell on.

Which means according to Israel, 90% of the aid has gone towards Palestinian civilians who need it to survive. But to punish Hamas for the 10%, they chose to block 100% of the aid knowing it will affect the vast majority of civilians who were before relying on the 90% of aid for their survival. Now that is fucked up.

But if they’re only targeting Hamas why did they blow up a doctor’s house do you think?

Odras · 24/05/2025 21:32

The answer is to flood the place with aid, it will save lives and it will mean that reselling the aid would be pointless. Win win surely. Well if you wanted to save lives of course.

According to the UN the equivalent of a “teaspoon” of aid has been delivered, the transportation sounded chaotic which is to be expected.

Because they can. Pure and simple.

Bastards.

Odras · 24/05/2025 21:42

Probably because they seem to be deliberately targeting healthcare staff.

You seem to think they deliberately targeted a doctors house for no military reason but I believe it’s far more likely that the doctors house got blown up as part of a larger military campaign. I believe that the area was one in which locals had been advised to evacuate from by the IDF.

What is the point of speculating? Neither of us know the truth at the moment. I hope the incident is being investigated so the truth can be revealed.

It could be part of a military strategy that aims to target the “essentials of life” . Amd That’s why farmland, bakeries, sewage systems ect.,,, were targeted, Targeting healthcare professionals and healthcare premises is part of making Gaza unliveable.

Whatsinanamehey · 24/05/2025 21:46

@twiglets1 4/5 of Gaza has now been declared a combat zone by the IDF which makes it almost impossible for everyone to evacuate. Even if they did, most don't have anywhere to go. They can't just check into a hostel, some can't even find tents.

Twiglets1 · 24/05/2025 21:54

JaneJeffer · 24/05/2025 21:44

Who is going to investigate it?

There has been an outcry about if so I assume it will be investigated further & more details will emerge over the next day or two.

It’s not helpful to speculate about why this area was bombed. But it was in an evacuation zone so it seems unlikely that just one house was targeted because a doctor’s family happened to be living there.

Whatsinanamehey · 24/05/2025 21:54

See it's very clever, people who don't know this will start blaming the parents whose children have died (not saying you are doing this Twiglets) for not evacuating. Most won't know that apart from a tiny area where its impossible for all the civilians to move to and doesn't have the infrastructure needed for even half of the population - everywhere else has been declared a combat zone. And at a moments notice that area can also be declared a combat zone so where next? Oh wait.. what was one of the stated aims of Netanyahu for this war again?

Whatsinanamehey · 24/05/2025 21:57

I hope some posters can put the pieces of the jigsaw together to see what's happening here. If they won't accept 'Trump's plan' willingly then they will be forced to accept it unwillingly with whatever means they can.

I disagree that people will blame the parents who have just lost 9 children; their pain is impossible to imagine.

But I think if the house was in an evacuation zone then that’s a more likely reason for why it got bombed than just because doctors lived there.

Speaking for myself I don’t blame the parents in any way and appreciate the truth of what you say that it’s not always possible in practical terms for civilians to evacuate if they have no where else to go.

People have large families in Gaza. So when buildings are bombed because the IDF believe there are Hamas fighters hiding within or underneath the building, a significant percentage of any civilians in that building will be children & babies.

It doesn’t logically follow that the IDF are specifically targeting babies. Isn’t it more likely that their higher priority would be the Hamas fighters trying to kill them?

Oh well that’s okay then, so long as those big families are just collateral damage….

and by investigate I assume they mean crush and bury the evidence of any wrongdoing.

Whatsinanamehey · 24/05/2025 22:04

By people i mean the extremists that we see pop up now and again. I think most people will be horrified.

Igotjelly · 24/05/2025 22:06

I am most certainly not an antisemite, I believe that Jewish people have the right to peaceful existence as much as anyone else, I believe that Israel has the right to exist. I also believe that there are evil mother fuckers of all ethnicities and religions and Netanyahu and his Govt are just that, evil to the core. The Israeli people deserve better, never mind the Palestinians.

Igotjelly · 24/05/2025 22:07

And on that note I absolutely condemn the killing of the 2 innocent people on Washington this week.

Are you serious? Bin Laden wasnt hiding out in a densely populated area. He was in his own large compound and several people including one of his sons was also killed.

So? What high ranking Hamas officials are left after this length of time? Has Israel managed to cause so much destruction without getting all the major leaders of Hamas?
Is life of Palestinians worth so little that 10s of them have to die to get a Hamas foot soldier? Are YOU serious?

What Israel did against Hezbollah with the pagers and what we have seen against Iranian nuclear scientists in the past shows that they’re more than capable of carrying out strategic military actions without creating mass casualties.
