Not really surprised but shows the level of New hatred that IS spreading in the US. Scary times and hope nothing like that happens here.

The man and woman were shot while leaving an event focused on helping Gazans at the Capital Jewish Museum.

It doesn't say they're targeting babies, is this the wrong link?

Whatsinanamehey · 24/05/2025 15:56

You know it's got to be really bad when the pilots who are trained to kill are now saying shit we are following orders that are killing far too many civilians, just so Netanyahu and his far right government can finally takeover Gaza.

Ok. I thought that was the whole thrust of this discussion, and what we were arguing about. Obviously not.
Confused.

Whatsinanamehey · 24/05/2025 15:59

None are so blind as those who refuse to see. You keep believing this is a just war that's only targeting Hamas if it makes you feel better.

If you are talking to me, kindly check my posts because I have claimed no such thing.

Looks like we are at the point of the discussion where people throw any random bit of 'evidence' and random accusations to confuse and obfuscate.

I know. I genuinely was trying to fathom the "specifically killing babies" claim, but it seems to have gone off kilter.

Odras · 24/05/2025 16:10

@ScarlettOYara i responded to your question. A disproportionate number of children have died.

Actually proving they are NOT specifically targetting babies. All very reminscent of the very very Trumpian 14000 babies will die in 48 hrs,oh no they wont die in 48 hours, but it doesnt matter because the fact you questioned it means you dont care about babies dying. Ridiculous. Who wins with this level of debate? I mean seriously, how does it advance peace?

You did, thank you. However, I still don't know if that constitutes evidence of babies being targeted, or as victims of the war in general.

Whatsinanamehey · 24/05/2025 16:17

I said children and yes they are targeted. If you don't want to believe it then that's up to you.

You seriously don’t think that doctors saying they are treating children with sniper wounds is evidence worth looking into?

Really? You wouldn’t have any concerns about that at all?

ScarlettOYara · 24/05/2025 16:19

I don't know, @SharonEllis . I'm an interested outsider who is trying to inform herself. I came on a previous thread to discuss, but the antisemitism genuinely shocked me, and read your posts about the blood libel and it certainly gave me pause for thought.

Why wouldn't I have any concerns about children with sniper wounds? Do you think I'm a psychopath?

Twiglets1 · 24/05/2025 16:22

People have large families in Gaza. So when buildings are bombed because the IDF believe there are Hamas fighters hiding within or underneath the building, a significant percentage of any civilians in that building will be children & babies.

It doesn’t logically follow that the IDF are specifically targeting babies. Isn’t it more likely that their higher priority would be the Hamas fighters trying to kill them?

Of course children are being targeted. We know that. Doctors know that.

It’s reasonable to say that Israel was withholding aid because they were.

However, it’s not reasonable to say they were “using air strikes to kill children” because that makes it sound like the aim of the air strikes was to kill children when it wasn’t. Israel is at war with Hamas so the aim of the air strikes is to kill as many Hamas fighters as possible but very sadly, many children are getting killed in the war too.

However, it’s not reasonable to say they were “using air strikes to kill children”

Something does not add up though. In all this time they still say they have killed only 20,000 terrorists and detained 7000 ( see below). They were saying that over a year ago too.

Yet every night they kill another c 70 people with a 100 or more wounded even though they say they had ‘intelligence’ that such and such a command centre was where they bombed, or Hamas fighters.

In practice the non-militant Gazans the IDF are killing far outweigh the number of actual terrorists.

A study by OHCHR, which verified fatalities from three independent sources, found that 70% of the Palestinians killed in residential buildings or similar housing were women and children.[29][30]

The number of injured is greater than 100,000;[41] Gaza has the most amputated children per capita in the world.[42]

Scholars have estimated 80% of Palestinians killed are civilians.[5][4][6][28]

Last night nine of a woman doctor’s children’s were killed in one go:
BBC today
An Israeli air strike on Gaza hit the home of a doctor and killed nine of her 10 children, the hospital where she works in the city of Khan Younis says.

Nasser hospital said one of Dr Alaa al-Najjar's children and her husband were injured, but survived. Graeme Groom, a British surgeon working in the hospital, said he had operated on her surviving 11-year-old boy.

A video shared by the director of the Hamas-run health ministry and verified by the BBC showed small burned bodies being lifted from the rubble of a strike in Khan Younis on Friday.

This is really is dismembering and burning babies.

At this point it does not make any sense to say the IDF does not kill children intentionally because they know full well their strategy is getting them nothing but mostly dead Gazan bodies, and quite possibly dead hostages too with not much to show for it in all these months yet they are carrying on bombing.

And that is without the fully intended murders they carry out then lie about. Hind for example.

Or destroying the infrastructure so Gazans will eventually die from other causes like no medicine, infection etc

Or blockading and starving the whole population.

(*The information I cited earlier about the numbers of Hamas terrorists killed was from Haaretz May 22:
The Spoils of War: Israel Confiscated 100m Shekels in Cash, 5,600 Guns Since October 7

The figures released by the IDF relating to the spoils it has seized during the Gaza war raise questions when compared Israeli claims about the number of Hamas terrorists killed October 7. According to estimates, the IDF killed 20,000 terrorists during the war and took some 7,000 Gazans as security prisoners.)

Thank you for reflecting. There is a lot to think about.

Twiglets1 · 24/05/2025 16:32

I think the doctor with her 10 children proves my point about a large percentage of the Palestinian deaths unfortunately being children mainly because they tend to have such large families.

The doctor’s home gets bombed and 9 of the casualties are babies and young children. That doesn’t mean the IDF were targeting them specifically and I see no reason why they would as it doesn’t help them militarily.

There is. I'm going to go away and find some reputable sources, so that I can find out proper information. If you can recommend any, I would be grateful.

@ScarlettOYara initially didn’t even bother replying to my post and then said it wasn’t evidence. @Twiglets1 pointed out that Gazan’s have large families. You’re still talking about blood libel. At no point did any of the three of you say, yes I support Israel but I’m concerned about these reports that suggest children have been targeted.

My sincere apologies if I have missed one of you calling for an independent investigation.
