New evacuation orders have been issued. Israeli government reported as saying they will fight until their war aims are achieved.

At least 330 killed after Israel launches extensive strikes on Gaza, Hamas-run ministry says - live updates

Israel launched dozens of air strikes on cities across Gaza, in the largest wave since a ceasefire with Hamas began in January.

But not Fuck Hamas? Who could have released all Israeli hostages ages ago or not murdered civilians back in October?

Two wrongs don’t make a right but surely it’s Fuck Hamas too?

You know just as well as I do this has never ever been about the hostages ! This has been an excuse to carpet bomb Gaza in a land grab for land / oil and gas . American Zionists were selling real estate on the Gaza Strip as soon as October 8. Netanyahu never wanted the hostages back , he wants a genocide to ethnically cleanse the land !

Funny, I anticipated that someone would mention Hamas and I was not disappointed.

The "but Hamas" excuse has long lost its effect, a death ratio of 1 Israeli to 60 Palestinians is disproportionate .

so Fuck Hamas too, for giving the Israeli government the excuse to carry out a systematic, calculated, destruction of the Palestinian people.

Though this would have happened with any excuse because the previous excuses were "It's the PLO, PLFP, etc" every single Palestinian group has been used as an excuse for the sytemic destruction of the Palestinians.

Fuck Israel and that tyrant Netanyahu they could have used the ceasefire process that meant the hostages were being released and not relied on the bullies in the White House to support them to carpet bomb civilians

But phase 2 involves withdrawal from Gaza and Israel will do anything to sabotage the ceasefire so that doesn't happen including sacrificing their own hostages.

Yes, the maximalist approach of all these groups is the main reason why the Palestinians haven't managed to achieve many of their goals over the last 75 years or so. Virtue-signalling Western sympathisers chanting "from the river to sea" (or the earlier equivalent) has encouraged this attitude, of course.

Hamas could have said "Oops - October 7th was a terrible miscalculation leading to deaths of thousands of innocent people". But instead they said that it was just the beginning and it will be repeated a thousand times over. Unsurprising that the Israelis feel that that the status quo is not sustainable....

purpletablet · 18/03/2025 10:25

Pure evil.

LoyalAquaOtter · 18/03/2025 10:25

It's so upsetting seeing what Israel have done over night in Gaza. I can't stop thinking about the utter terror that all of the children of Gaza must be feeling right now. All of the mums who will be scrambling trying to figure out how best to protect their children again but knowing deep down in their hearts that you can't protect your children from bombs that wipe out entire apartment blocks.

The past 18+months has shown that the most successful way to get hostages home is through negotiations. This is not about the hostages. If it was about hostages Israel would not have repeatedly violated the ceasefire.

It's disgusting to see people are still making excuses for Israel. How you can see rows of dead children and your first thought is jump in to defend Israels killing of them is beyond me.

I noticed that too.

Yup some people just won’t criticise Hamas no matter what they do.

They act like all the violence & lack of respect for human life is coming from one side only whereas anyone can logically see it comes from both sides. And this current conflict was triggered by Hamas October attack on innocent civilians.

Why did Hamas start it then? Not for huge tawdry casinos so what would you say was their motive in targeting civilians?

Where did the violence last night come from? Who killed all of those children last night? As far as I am aware that is what this thread is about. The 100s of innocent people that have been killed in the past few hours. The little children slaughtered while they were sleeping. Can you not have a little bit of respect and allow people to express their anger and sadness at their pointless, violent deaths.

There’s many idiots within the Israeli government who’ve openly called for the destruction of all of Gaza , for Gaza to be ethnically cleansed , called for a greater Israel which includes stealing land from many of its surrounding countries and let me not even get started on the finance minister Bezalel Snotrich , does this give the Palestinians the right to annihilate Israel because by your reckoning it does !!! Disgusting , it’s never ever acceptable to murder a child so don’t come into this thread with your double standard excuses for genocide !!!!!!!

Absolutely agree..
Well said .
It seems we can only group of peoples deaths are mourned.

The others lives just don't matter.

goodovationsonly · 18/03/2025 10:48

This is about wiping out Palestinians nothing more nothing less

Yes, it was never about Oct 7th, that atrocity just gave Israel the excuse to take a much more heavy handed approach to killing then the previous 75 years. It's not an act of defence, it has always been a means of eradicating the Palestinians, grabbing more land and illegal expansion. Was so sad to wake up and see this news today.

Hamas are a fairly new inception, Israel has been wiping out the Palestinians for decades. Who are we going to blame for that? I'm not saying Hamas are good, but we have to stop using them as a deflection for Israel's continued murdering sprees.

Scirocco · 18/03/2025 10:52

The death toll from these airstrikes is being reported as over 400, with more people lying dead in the rubble and over 600 people needing hospital treatment in an already decimated healthcare system.

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un.

I'm grateful to the people who have expressed their compassion and concern for the innocent people being killed, injured and traumatised. Realistically, I knew this was likely to happen at some point, but it is still so, so hard to bear yet more of this bloodshed and hear the cries for more violence against people simply for being Palestinian or even (elsewhere on social media) for being Muslim. I'm also so sad for the hostages and their families, and for the implications of this for all innocent people in the region.

Yep - that's why there are ten times more Palestinians in Israel and Palestine than in 1948, and a further 7m Palestinians worldwide. Truly a policy of extermination....

EasterIssland · 18/03/2025 11:07

im sorry @Scirocco im not sure what hurts more : these killings or the people around world justifying it

Netanhayu was meant to be in court today for the investigation related with his corruption. This has been cancelled for security reasons. Suspicious

I am happy to condemn Hamas. It goes without saying that of course the hostage situation on October 7th was barbaric, monstrous.

I have no connection with either side in this conflict. None at all. But shrugging your shoulders when 400 people in Gaza (or anywhere!) are killed is sick. This conflict has turned human hearts into stone. If you really think this latest killing is justified then your psychology is warped. Is it not possible to make a connection between the grief and anger you feel when Israeli’s are killed with the anger and grief of the Palestinians? Really not possible for you? Then something has gone wrong for you.

Are you talking about the Israeli government whose president should be in court today for corruption and whose president and other members of the government have got arrest warrants for war criminals? And they weren’t elected that long time ago!
