So they want the hostages back OR they will seize more land. Will that motivate Hamas to return hostages that they should never have taken in the first place?

Israel wants more land . If they wanted the hostages back they’d have progressed to phase 2

We’ll never know if giving the hostages back would stop Israel seizing more land or not unless Hamas do it … and as I said before, I see no benefit to Hamas now in keeping them.
