As if the anguish isn't enough!

on the world stage there is nothing to gain by sending the wrong person back and everything to lose..one only has to look at opinions since this has happened.
On this basis I think they just got the wrong person

There is everything to gain in their world by causing a bit more pain to Yarden Bibas for whom they have shown no compassion.Aw bless them, muddling up the bodies. Why are you giving them benefit of the doubt?

As I said theres nothing to gain.
They will be more concerned about how they appear on the world stage than how they affect one person.
It seems logical to consider that as more important

So no evidence then but you repeat stuff from terrorist groups. We know the terrorists claimed they died then but provided no evidence and the bastards held onto the bodies. The bastards held onto the bodies of a mother and her children to use as bargaining chips and her husband all that time had no idea what had happened.

How do you know it was from a terrorist group? It was a post someone had put up on another thread which as I said I can't find now, not everything that you don't want to believe comes from a terrorist group

GentleScroller · 22/02/2025 13:17

Stirabout · 22/02/2025 12:56

It was also reported when the names of the first hostages to be released were given to Israel on 23rd November 2023 ( for release the next day ). All hostages were children and women, the Family weren’t on the list as had been reported they had already died in an Israeli air strike.
Netanyahu requested the living only, at the time.

Edited

Sorry, what's the point you are making? Hamas are a terrorist organisation that has repeatedly lied and failed to disclose for over 16 months whether Israeli citizens are dead or alive and has refused to disclose this information to even the Red Cross. Many of the hostage families were shown videos produced by Hamas, implying their relatives were dead. Some have been released alive. Maybe now you finally understand why a nation refused to give up on Shiri, Ariel and Kfir.

Liv999 · 22/02/2025 13:17

Stirabout · 22/02/2025 12:59

No. They didn’t deliberately hold onto the bodies.
They were offered during part of a ceasefire deal but Netanyahu specially said he would take the living only.

That is just terrible, what an awful man he really is

stomachamelon · 22/02/2025 13:18

If they cared about how they looked on the world stage they would get it right.
They wouldn't keep celebrating.
They wouldn't keep putting propaganda in and around babies coffins.
They wouldn't have sent the wrong person.
They wouldn't care less how the world sees them.
It's another way to punish Israel and all Jews and that's all they care about.
Please don't try and humanise them and allow them a seat at a table they don't deserve to have.

@SharonEllis I messaged you re post.

I take it you have only recently started taking notice of Hamas's behaviour.

stomachamelon · 22/02/2025 13:21

@Stirabout know him personally do you? What you have read may be no closer to the truth than the propaganda that's posted.

You know nothing of the motivation of Netanyahu and big decisions would have been made in discussion not unilaterally by him.

Remember the hostages are only there because of Hamas.

My post relates to news at the time of the first ceasefire hostage release. A pp asked a question on the running thread. I responded.

Of note Hamas let the Red Cross check on hostages after the first release and at the request of the Israeli Govn.

Of note I haven’t seen any news relating to Hamas releasing videos of dead hostages that were then returned alive, so I can’t comment on that. I have looked across the board at various news outlets to check though.

Wow. Just read back what you just wrote. At any point they could have released those bodies. At any point. Of course they deliberately held onto them. They didnt accidentally hold on to them.

OF COURSE Netanyahu was going to prioritise living hostages in the deals. No human being with any sense, strategy or morality would prioritise dead bodies over living hostages in a deal.

Netanyahu is the awful human being here? Seriously? I think Netanyahu is a shit but seriously noone with a vaguely functioning moral compass could fault him for prioritising getting living hostages out of their hell holes and back to their families.

How do you think parading hostages around and playing party music while delivering bodies in coffins makes them look on the world stage?

Any man who supports a terrorist group when it suits him is capable of anything, or was that propaganda too?

The point blank refusal to see Hamas for who they are is truly astonishing.
‘But Hamas said…’ - sure, must be true then.

No, you are the "one who stirs the pot." You are repeating false information provided by Hamas and making suggestive and disparaging remarks aimed at the Israeli government.

"Hamas let the Red Cross check on hostages after the first release and at the request of the Israeli Govn".

Are you deliberately being crass?

You do realise that hostage-taking is prohibited under international humanitarian law (IHL).

Agree @stomachamelon
I should have said Netanyahu and the Israeli Government to be more thorough.

And the Red cross should have been given access in captivity. Extraordinary.

@GentleScroller
Why the crass comment.
The Red Cross were given access to check on hostages after the first release.
They just were!
They confirmed they did so.
Theres nothing crass about telling the truth

Please don’t demeen my comments.

I read across all news outlets and am happy to see all facts !
Im not interested in propaganda, I don’t do twitter and Facebook. I read news reports although obviously theres less of that available these days with less reporters on the ground.

There you go:

https://www.timesofisrael.com/hamas-forced-daniella-gilboa-to-stage-her-own-death-during-captivity-her-mother-says/amp/

Former hostage Daniella Gilboa was forced by Hamas to stage her own death.

You can’t have looked all that hard, I’ve come across this information upon Daniella’s release without looking for it.

stomachamelon · 22/02/2025 13:40

@Liv999 it's opinion.

stomachamelon · 22/02/2025 13:44

@Stirabout The Red Cross played a role in a Hamas led production and shared a stage with them whilst standing back when hostages where paraded and heckled by 'civilians'

They are nothing but self serving Uber drivers.

The history of the Red Cross is somewhat chequered when it comes to the Jews and Israel something I imagine Hamas enjoys.

Do you still think they care about how they come across on the world stage?
