As if the anguish isn't enough!

Nothing justifies the behaviour of Hamas.
Your constant attempts to suggest there is equivalence are very revealing about you.

Some posters work hard to justify what hamas do.

DoubleShotEspresso · 22/02/2025 09:47

I cannot watch the handover today, this is so utterly depraved .
I really hope these public handovers cease and we stop permitting public platforms for these wicked people.
I despair at the volume of posters here defending this relentless terror, MN too for facilitating such hatred.
Shame on them all-am praying 🙏 today for a better world.

Depraved is the word. Those masked men in black, touting automatic weapons, posturing like that, with traumatised and broken hostages.
Vile.

I never said it did though, I'm simply replying to a poster who said all Palestinian prisoners/detainees were criminals, which is factually incorrect as you know well

We knew from the start what sort of people Hamas were. Shani Louk. The filming and glee during October 7th . The atrocities . The ongoing hostage torture .
And yet still people marched every week for Palestine. No reference in the marches to the hostages. Instead anti semitic sentiments were commonplace on the marches.
Posters on here pushed back aggressively when I asked why there was no condemnation of Hamas from the pro Palestinian protesters.
counter protesters who condemned Hamas or held posters of hostages were abused. Pro Palestinian marchers thought that was ok .

I was ( and still am) sympathetic to Palestinians.
But I am beginning to truly loathe the protestors in the west .

Are these awful archers out in cities today. Awful the lot of them.

RominaDina · 22/02/2025 09:50

Can't they just release them, without this awful performance? Dear lord, it's sickening.

That's what concerned me, @OpheliaWasntMad I saw too many offensive banners, heard too many negative chants on what was supposed to be (I thought) peaceful marches.
Nobody thought it was appropriate to say "free the hostages" and the one man who had a banner saying "Hamas= terror" was attacked by the crowd.
That was a turning point for me.

Liv999 · 22/02/2025 10:01

@EdithStourton That's OK then we're on the same page, yes some of them have but some of them haven't also, I've never said Kfir Bibas has done anything have I, but neither has Dr Hussam Abu Shafiya, still being held I believe, and many others also, it's important to talk about those people as some people on here like to turn a blind eye to those innocent people

Please explain where what I've said isn't correct?

SomethingFun · 22/02/2025 10:04

This is so awful, those children wouldn’t have been murdered or died in an air strike or whatever you want to believe if they haven’t have been kidnapped would they? There wouldn’t have been air strikes if there hadn’t been hostages would there? Use your brain and think logically about what is happening.

I cannot see the equivalence between kidnapping civilians of whom all are innocent and sometimes imprisoning civilians who are innocent (like all countries do from time to time) unless you are prejudice. The uk imprisons the wrong people sometimes, would it be ok for someone to take and kill some uk children then as it would just be both sides being as bad as each other? I wonder what marches we’d see on the streets for that?

You’ve come on a thread about the Bibas family to deflect and minimise
Shame on you.

Bizarre behaviour isn't it. I'm almost convinced that poster is trying their best to turn more people against Palestinians.

Hard to stomach that someone enjoying the privileges of living in the west would be so radicalised that they would genuinely make such tone death and pathetic excuses, for a level of barbarity that demons would consider going too far.

Liv999 · 22/02/2025 10:24

@OpheliaWasntMad I wasn't the one who deflected though @KatieDR was, I was simply giving her an answer, if people don't want to talk about these things why bring it up?

This.

I saw the same.

They disgust me.

She didn't say 'all'. As I pointed out a little while back.

No reference in the marches to the hostages.

No reference to the hostages and no reference to Hamas either. As if October 7th had never happened, nothing to see here.
When pushed on that subject they’d say something vague like: ‘Well, what do you expect after everything Gazans had to endure.’

Yes I replied agreeing with you

Astronautstar · 22/02/2025 10:49

I don't understand this threads. On the surface if seems to be about how sad this is and how evil Hamsas are.

At a different level it seems to be about how unacceptable it is to suggest the Israeli government bears responsibility for harm coming to hostages and how there are people who want to protect Hamas and blame atrocities on Israel.

For a start, I don't conflate Jewish people with the Israeli government or Palestinian people with Hamas but I don't see why the views above are mutually exclusive. I think what has happened to everyone is heartbreaking and both the Israeli government and Hamas are carrying out evil acts.

Well, it does go to show that the Israeli attacks on Gaza, which have killed around 45,000 people, have not worked, not at all, infact Hamas is even stronger than it was before they launched their despicable attack.

Its terrible what the family are going through and always will but am i alone in wondering about the Palestinian woman whose remains were originally sent?

the one man who had a banner saying "Hamas= terror" was attacked by the crowd.

In Germany, there is this woman (Karoline Preisler) who’s been joining protests from day one, holding up a sign saying ‘rape is not resistance’ or simply pictures of hostages.
She’s required police protection because the ‘peaceful protesters’ keep trying to attack her.

I was thinking about her. Poor woman. I hope she's returned to her family.

Exactly, 45,000 people murdered and for what? Nothing achieved, I'm also wondering about the Palestinian lady, I presume her remains will be released back to Gaza?

Theres a big difference between criticism of Israel ( fine if legitimate and not anti semitic obviously) and coming onto a thread about the Bibas family to counter people’s criticism of Hamas with criticism of Israel.
Hamas and Israeli government are not equivalent. It is particularly offensive to suggest equivalence on this particular thread.

The bodies of the Bibas family have only JUST been returned ( in hideous circumstances) .
Posters who want to change the focus away from that are the same posters who only ever want to talk about Israel’s wrong doing - never Hamas.
It’s exactly the same mindset that wouldn’t allow hostage posters or condemnation of Hamas on the pro Palestine marches .
