Discussing this with friends
I'm quite appauled that it took the death of 50000 civilians (mostly children) before a warrant was issued.

When will the arrest warrant for tony Blair be issued???

A friend said that this is war and to get over it. Aibu in thinking the arrest was correct?

I know families wiped out. And refugee camps set on fire. I mean it has been going on for over the last 75 years.
I'm so glad that Warner brothers are going to release a movie about the nakba.
Found it really sick that netflix deleted their movie of the Palestinian who saw all her family die before her eyes and her house get occupied.

I think the coverage of the Christian palestians has been utterly shambolic.

The orthodox Jews have separated themselves from netanyahu and say what he is doing is wrong.

All news outlets in Palestine removed by Israel.
Israel has controlled their water supply amongst other things for years.

Another friend said "what if the European pagans just came to UK and said that this is their land and they want it back and then they remove all of us to Devon and then try and take Devon"

They’re doing fuck all about it though.

You can lie to yourself all you like that these marches are peaceful and not filled with hate but those of us in the real world see the truth

And you accuse me of using 'emotive language' when you are here talking about protests 'filled with hate'?

In the real world there is an arrest warrant out for Netanyahu and Co. The highest court in the world decided in July that Israel are responsible for occupation and apartheid. There are many, many reasons to march in solidarity with Palestinians, as the world is slowly admitting, they have been subjected to horrendous crimes for many years. That's the truth.

Thats not emotive language. They are filled with hate and I suspect I’ve touched a nerve. What about Jewish people who are scared to go out during these protests faced with Seattle’s and pro Hamas propaganda and genocidal chants?

With respect that’s not the whole truth. It’s the truth YOU want to believe.

Dogs usually get put down when they bite, so that's not a great analogy.

So it's all about whether Israel is seen as weak? As in 'my dick is bigger than yours' bullshit.

What you're talking about is a total solution... because if you leave any survivors, they'll be pretty bitter don't you think? No, the people who Israel have orphaned, widowed, murdered, raped, displaced... will not just get over it. Israel has laid a foundation here for generations to come.

As for your last question, why don't you ask the Palestinians.

Everything you say is true for the Israelis. I guess you are one of those who started being aware of this conflict for about a year and don't know how many Israelis palestinian terrorists have killes. Israelis are bitter too. Of course, this war is not really between gaza and Israel. hamas is being financed by Iran and other organisations and clearly these individuals are not interested that the war ends.
If you knew something about the history, you would know that EVERY war that Israel had was initiated by some arab country (or several at the same time). When Israel removed the settlements thinking that it would be seen as a step towards peace, leaving the palestinians greenhouses from their fruit productions, they destroyed everything instead of using it for themselves and continued attacking Israel just the same. hamas is there to completely destroy Israel, there's no other solution for them. So, what would YOU do in this situation cause all of you are so smart judging not knowing what Israeli people had to go through.
When I lived there in the 90s, palestinians could cross into ISrael for work, then terrorists started entering as workers and blowing up Israelis. Israel stopped letting them in and built a wall, they started yelling how they can no longer work there. They would send terrorists in ambulances, etc. Israel started searching ambulances, they started yelling how even the sick are getting searched. There'no winning with these people. And of course, they hide among civilians knowing very well that they put them under danger and they don't care. It's like this manipulative sibling that provokes you and when you answer, they yell abuse. That's how these people are.

Not touched a nerve at all, I have been no where near any of the protests. I have just seen how accusations of 'hate marches' have been used themselves to stir hatred.

No, it's the truth as decided by the courts. Not the truth 'I want to believe'. There is an arrest warrant out for Netanyahu and Co. Israel have been committing crimes like apartheid for years. Palestinians have been subjected to horrendous crimes at the hands of Israel like the violation of international prohibition on racial segregation and apartheid.

Anyway I'm out. Like I said in the beginning you are entitled to your feelings whatever they are.

Nice to hear the mention of the Israeli hostages on this thread… 🙄 not once.

Oh and for all you fuckwits who don’t seem to understand, there was a ceasefire in place BEFORE Hamas committed the worst terror attack against Jews since the holocaust on 7/11.

they started this. They knew what would happen.

oh a d everyone seems to forget that ICC issued a warrant for Hamas leadership too.

IT IS NOT ONE SIDED.

and anyone who is genuinely interested, i will gladly explain to you the antisemitism i, my family and my friends have experienced in the last year.

Equally, very happy to listen to and learn from anyone’s direct experiences of Islamophobia related to the war.

but questioning a minority groups voice is really racism in its purest form.

It's been pretty one sided for the past year though. When history tells us how many dead Palestinian children there really are, we're all going to be so so sorry and 'how could we have known?'

Yes I understand why Israel and Israelis wanted revenge after October... but they've gone way to far and it's up to the international community to make them stop this murderous rampage

They haven't 'forgotten' that they issued arrest warrants for Hamas too. Israel have already killed them so they can never be brought to justice so there isn't much point in that discussion is there.

Someone should have explained to Israel who were busy killing Palestinians including 44 children prior to Oct 7 that there was a ceasefire in place, seems they weren't notified of that. I'm quite sure the parents of the 2 year old child Israel killed wouldn't agree that there was a ceasefire.

Are airstrikes and more than 1 child killed a week usual in a ceasefire?

Genuinely interested - please can you provide a source for these statistics?

Yes over the years of Hamas being elected by the Gazan people, there has been times of conflict, for example responses to terror attacks in Israel.

however my understanding was that there wasn’t active fighting in the months preceding October 7th 2023 (although rockets were still be launched into Israel). So would be very interested to understand more about this?

Debating if a ceasefire was in place is kind of a moot point because everyone's going to disagree on what qualifies as breaking it. Does it have to be active fighting? Bombs and raids? What about speeches inciting people to erase villages? No one's going to agree. But if you mean "there was a ceasefire in place before Oct 7th" to mean there was no violence being perpetrated then that's not true and over simplistic. 2022 was a deadly year for Palestinian children.

Late September 2023, dozens of stone throwing Gazan youths had been shot in the legs and ankles and 2 week prior to that in mid September there had been 3 continuous days of air strikes resulting in the deaths of (16?) people.

Israel strikes Gaza for the third straight day as West Bank violence escalates

A series of violent escalations on the border between Israel and Gaza over the past week during a sensitive Jewish holiday period raised the specter of an escalation for the first time since May.

I guess that the evidence indicates that there was no ceasefire and that we no longer fall into the category of being "fuckwits".

But I guess we will still remain; " Useful idiots", "Jew-haters", Antisemites", "Jezzer fans" and "Terrorist sympathisers" along with all the other invective that those who question the actions of the Israeli government seem to attract.

Anyone got any more?

I think the quiet majority in this country will always be more sympathetic to the Israeli cause, for obvious reasons. Those that support Hamas tend to be the loud, weird lefty types that go to nearly every march in London, no matter what the cause.

Where is this quiet majority, I keep hearing about it from Israel supporters but polls never bear that out, why do you think that that is? The vast majority in the UK thinks that Israel have gone too far, only 12% think that Israels actions are about right. Opinion is evenly split on who the UK public thinks has a great deal of responsibility for the current conflict with the majority of people by a small amount thinking that it is Israel. Only 8% think that the UK should support Israel while double that think they should support Palestinians with most thinking the UK should be a neutral mediator. It makes no sense that if the 'majority' would stay quiet in anonymous polls repeatedly.

You don't mention Palestinian supporters which it would seem the majority of the UK are?

I think lots of people don't even know what 'the Israeli cause' is? Is it as some ministers say to 'enact a Nakba' on Palestinians? Is it as others say to resettle Gaza and take all of the West Bank? Is it as others say 'to destroy everything'? Or is it simply to free the hostages and eliminate Hamas? I'm sure you would agree it's difficult to know at this point when so many different messages have come from members of the Israeli government.
