Hamas don’t want peace

A two day ceasefire was offered to them in return for four hostages but they declined. Antony Blinken, the US secretary of state, said Hamas “once again refused to release even a limited number of hostages to secure a ceasefire and relief for the people of Gaza”.
Isreal has now offered a million dollars for each hostage and safe passage out of Gaza for their captors. Hamas have yet to respond.

Of course they don't. They don't care about the Palestinian people.

No one is happier to see ordinary Palestinians suffer than Hamas....great pr for them...sadly.

Actupfishy · 06/11/2024 10:22

Oh aren't isreal lovely. What compensation for the 10s of thousands of babies they have murdered?

MaJoady · 06/11/2024 10:25

Given who Israel have appointed as their new defense minister, and the messages he's released already, it sounds very much like Israel aren't particularly interested in peace either...

Lifelessordinary1 · 06/11/2024 10:31

In my opinion both sides want to win more than they want peace - and its only when both sides are prepared to put peace first that a lasting solution will be found.

It’s Israel 🙄

KoalaCalledKevin · 06/11/2024 10:56

@Icanthinkformyselfthanks you didn't ask a question.

But of course Hamas don't want peace. I don't know anyone who thinks that they do.

FupaTrooper · 06/11/2024 11:13

Hamas are terrorists... Of course they don't want peace.

People just conveniently forget who Hamas are because of their hatred for Israel. They excuse the actions of Hamas for some imagined "greater good".

It's just pathetic at this point.

We can all acknowledge the actions of Israel without turning a a blind eye to the other side of things

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 06/11/2024 11:16

What difference would a 2 day ceasefire make to the Palestinian people if Israel were to go back to bombing the shit out of them after that two-day break. Genuine question...

Oooh a whole 2 day ceasefire??? Wow how bloody generous of Israel eh? They will stop murdering innocent civilians (mostly women and children) for two days, then get right back on the genocide! Who was ever going to agree to that? It wouldn't even be enough time to vaccinate the kids from polio - Israel bombed a vaccination centre the other day. It wouldn't be enough time to get in the amount of food and medical supplies needed. A permanent ceasefire and complete withdrawal of Israeli troops is what is needed to save lives (including any hostages that haven't been killed by the bombing). The two day offer was an insult to everyone's intelligence, In fact I doubt it was ever a serious offer. If you think Israel want peace you are deluded OP.

Do you mean Israel?

Anyway OP of course they don't want peace

a) they're terrorists
b) they don't care about their own population
c) the PR following their massacre on 7 October has found them plenty of virtue signalling useful idiots to march for their cause

🤷🏻‍♀️

vivainsomnia · 06/11/2024 11:52

Another 'generous' offer from Israel to point the finger to those 'unreasonable' not to accept....

Verv · 06/11/2024 11:53

Of course Hamas don't want peace.
They had peace and chose to massacre on Oct 7 before hiding behind human shields in their burrows below public buildings.

What's your source for such nonsense?

Wordsmithery · 06/11/2024 12:03

It seems to me (and I'm admittedly no expert) that Hamas committed an atrocity and ordinary Palestinians - some of whom support Hamas, many of whom don't - are paying the terrible price.
It feels inevitable that continued bombardment of civilians will drive more Palestinians to align with Hamas. They have no other means of defence.

Doford · 06/11/2024 12:04

I don’t any of us think that Hamas want peace. That doesn’t justify Israel’s behaviour though; they are killing innocent people because Hamas live amongst them.

RafaistheKingofClay · 06/11/2024 12:05

Hamas have previously offered more than 4 hostages back in exchange for a ceasefire and Netenyahu refused. Did you claim Israel didn’t want peace then?
Truth is it’s a whole lot more complicated than refused ceasefire deal = doesn’t want peace. But essentially neither Hamas nor Netanyahu want peace and neither gives a fuck about the hostages,

Did Gaza “have peace” prior to October 7th?!

Isreal are the problem and the ones causing genocide. The terms of the ceasefire are awful so no owners Hamas don’t want it.

Not since 1948

Funny that, Israel also has not had peace since then.

More than 4...out of over 200 or so still left including children and babies. Amazing offer.
