Hamas don’t want peace

A two day ceasefire was offered to them in return for four hostages but they declined. Antony Blinken, the US secretary of state, said Hamas “once again refused to release even a limited number of hostages to secure a ceasefire and relief for the people of Gaza”.
Isreal has now offered a million dollars for each hostage and safe passage out of Gaza for their captors. Hamas have yet to respond.

@herecomesautumn as expected you have nothing of value to say! Picking up on typos 🤣proper clever you.

mumstheword223 · 06/11/2024 14:32

@Fairy0708 Jews migrated to many different areas in Europe but were expelled. Palestinians accepted them. Your points are abit useless, what are you saying? They were killed in Germany by Nazis so they can establish a state by killing Palestinians? Let me know ‘darling’.

Going back to your original point that Israel hasn't had peace.. everyone deserves peace whether you're Israeli or Palestinian but let's not forget that Israel (with the support of the West) has caused death and destruction for over 70 years to the Palestinians. Maybe if Israel allows Palestinians to have a right to their own water, aid and food, Israel will see peace too?

Really? Palestinians accepted them 🤣🤣

Ok... You can lead a horse to water but...I'll leave the pointless discussion here.

Proper clever?

Was it a typo? Or one of those silly point scoring things that posters usually found on the CIME board do to, I dunno, prove some sort of point?

@herecomesautumn this is how soldiers who rape Palestinians are protected and hailed as heroes in Israel

https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/israel-hamas-war-idf-palestinian-prisoner-alleged-rape-sde-teinman-abuse-protest/

Israelis, one of the few nations to defend their soldiers right to rape their prisoners…

Yes they did more than defend them they celebrated them on TV. Shameful

The PLO walked away from the chance of a peace agreement as well.

That's a very simplistic view. Israel offered them less than half of their land back. Why should they accept being robbed of more than half of their land?

That post contains debunked stories. Babies in ovens? That didn't happen. Why would you 'chefs kiss' it rather than correct it? What happened was bad enough without fabricating stories too. Surely that poster is trying to do exactly what she is accusing the other poster of spreading horrific false stories in attempt to spread hate, one poor baby died in the Hamas attack, they died from a gunshot wound. Another unborn baby died when their mother was killed. Those two deaths are tragicl enough without making things up.

In plain terms it’s a political ideology (not religious) to create a homeland for Jewish people by any means (including through the eradication of the current inhabitants of the land as they consider themselves are the superior race which ‘deserves’ the land). What’s your definition of Zionism?

Saying Anti Zionism is the same as Anti Jewish would be an insult to many Jewish people as you’re are basically saying Judaism is Zionism, it isn’t. Where in the Torah does the actions of Zionist are justified? Do you agree Zionism is not the same as Judaism? What’s the difference if you agree?

And if 80% of Jews are Zionists are you basically telling me it’s OK to expel and kill Palestinians to create a homeland?

Norman Finkelstein and Noam Chomsky are two are many examples of Jewish people who have been vocal against the Zionist ideology. Check them out? I

my view of Zionism (I’m an Orthodox Jew) that I’ve posted before really is nothing like this.

Zionism is the belief that there should be a homeland for the Jewish people in our ancestral land of Israel. That’s not at the exclusion of other people living there too.

For religious Jews, Zionism has a meaning separate from political Zionism - it refers to our eternal longing for our return to our homeland, the coming of the messiah and to rebuild the third temple. It’s central to our belief system, we pray towards Jerusalem three times a day, and our longing to return to Zion (another name for Jerusalem) is referred to in our daily prayers and blessings over and over again, prayers said by generations of Jews, (for about 2500 years ) - since the destruction of the second temple. Zionism is inextricably intertwined with Judaism, although they are not the same thing.

Political Zionism is a secular construct, and is not the same as religious Zionism.
To be a religious Jew is to be inextricably a Zionist in some form, regardless of opinions on the political structures/ Israeli government/ state of Israel.

As above, the establishment of a Jewish homeland in Israel (i.e. the core zionistic belief) does not mean it should be at the exclusion of other people peacefully co-existing in Israel.

Nobody was found to have cooked a baby in an oven on October 7th. That allegation was disproven.

October 7th was a day of horror - and there are already enough efforts that have been made to minimise or dismiss those horrors without giving more ammunition to people seeking to discredit testimonies, by repeating and spreading claims which have been found to have been inaccurate.

There are cases in living memory of people having endured such horrors as having their children burned alive in front of them, including after having been placed in ovens. We should not dishonour their pain by attempting to use fictionalised versions of their trauma to fuel hate or justify violence.

Stop spreading fake Israeli propaganda. There were no babies cooked in ovens.

@Fairy0708 do you not know that? Or do you just swallow all Israeli propaganda you see unquestioningly?

Why?

FfsBrian · 06/11/2024 18:44

I watched a broadcast where a journalist asked a Hamas leader if the Palestinians could use the war war tunnels as shelter. The Hamas leader said ‘No’ and that they should be willing to sacrifice themselves.

This enables them to strike and then seek sympathy around the world. They don’t even care about their own people.

Righty, I’ll give you some little clues. Now what was I responding to? What did I say about the accuracy of the post I was responding to? Did I use any language that might indicate I was comparing those two situations- now what might I have been alluding to regarding similarities? Jesus, it really shouldn’t need spelling out.

That was horrific but that act doesn't absolve the other.

Let's not pretend that 'Palestine' is a democracy
It is currently not a democracy, an election hasn't taken place for over 20 years. Whose pretending it is?
Why have you put Palestine in inverted commas?

Hamas bear blame for every single death in this war.

So because Hamas don't care about Palestinian lives Israel are free to bomb, kill, injure and starve them?

Do you use that logic for other things too? Maybe kids being abused by their parents? Others can abuse them too because their parents don't care. Messed up thinking

Hamas bear blame for every single death in this war.
Hamas are responsible for their actions and Israel theirs.
