Conflict in the Middle East

I see your point- but even if these accounts are pro-Hamas - does not necessarily mean the photos originate from the accounts? There’s a lot of sharing of photos that originate from other sources. For example, people reposting photos of support for Palestinians around the world or photos from within Gaza.

Photos are also primary sources, and not a biased interpretation of events like a commentary piece in the DM.

Interesting that we are here comparing the DM with individual SM accounts. Shows the power of the former. This is also why the Israeli government is loosing the propaganda war- due entirely to its own actions. The victor no longer gets to write history.

I never claimed the photo came from that account. Just wondering why its okay to complain about bias in the DM, for example, and not the account for a pro-Terrorost account.

And as much as I don't like the mail, the idea that the twitter accounts of people who think Jews are awful and October 7th was great is not something that fills me with hope.

I only mention photos - as these appear to primarily shown from links to SM accounts on this board. In general, the camera doesn’t lie.

For example, photos and videos of support for Palestinians around the world show how strong sentiments are about what is happening, despite the biased nature of reporting in some parts of the press.

Equally- a photo of a hostage says a thousand words, which can’t be easily discounted because, let’s say, they were posted by an Islamophobic poster.

Photos today can easily be doctored. And ever heard of AI?

Of course the camera can lie.

@keenforhelp I am sure the Palestinians are terrified near Jerusalem today.

But Jewish people are scared on a daily basis.

Again do you think the Palestinians are having a fun picnic the rest of the days? 500 Palestinians have been killed in the occupied west bank alone since October 7th so if there's anyone who is minimising anything right now, it is you.

And there is the whataboutery and completely ignoring my post.

Parkingt111 · 06/06/2024 10:46

@keenforhelp the irony that you can't see the whataboutery is from you.
Read the thread title. It isn't about marches in London and how they make people feel.
It's about the march that took place in Jerusalem and the affect it has on the Palestinians living there.

keenforhelp · 06/06/2024 10:48

That's rich!

Every single thread in CITME has been derailed particularly more "Pro-Israeli or hostage ones.

Regardless, doesn't change the fact that the whataboutery you are accusing me of on this thread is incorrect. And the person doing whataboutery on here is yourself.

anotherlevel · 06/06/2024 10:54

@keenforhelp

"This is about Jewish people and their fear in the UK.

Written in single lines to hope the message gets through and hopefully without whataboutery."

READ

THE

THREAD

TITLE!

Written in single lines to hope the message gets through and to stop the whataboutery.

No one is denying how Jews feel but this thread isn't about that.

Again read the thread title.

Did you read the whole thread? Was I the first and only to mention the UK Protests?

No - all of us thought it right and relevant to make the link.

Out of interest, have you ever posted anything on other threads that was not directly relevant to the title?

The only reason I pointed out your whataboutery is because you wrongly accused me of it first.
Otherwise I'm well aware of how threads in this section go, as are you.
If you don't like it then don't falsely accuse others of it.

Falsely accuse???

keenforhelp · 06/06/2024 11:08

Falsely accuse???

Yes, exactly that.

keenforhelp · 06/06/2024 11:15

Parkingt111 · 06/06/2024 11:10

Yes, exactly that.

See that kind of language is very inflammatory and I refute what you are saying 100%.

I will post what I like when I like -just like everybody does when I have something relevant to say .

Parkingt111 · 06/06/2024 11:29

@keenforhelp sure post whatever you want but as I said don't falsely accuse others. Like how you accused me of whataboutery when there wasn't any.

keenforhelp · 06/06/2024 11:48

You've got a real nerve haven't you.

Don't engage with me again, do not tag me.

I don't want to hear from you. Period.

Parkingt111 · 06/06/2024 12:04

Ditto

stormy4319trevor · 06/06/2024 12:05

@keenforhelp You have a rather aggressive style, and I'm sure posters will be happy to disengage with you. I must point out that @Parkingt111 has said nothing untrue and been measured in response.

keenforhelp · 06/06/2024 12:24

Aggressive because I stand up for myself ? I will take that as a badge of honour thank you. Aggressive to me suggests shouting and swearing. I am firm, yes. I will not be bullied.

I would be very happy if certain posters disengage with me - including you as I don't like posts where somebody comes to another person's rescue or supports them in this context.

I stand up for myself and would not let anybody do it for me.

Scirocco · 06/06/2024 13:19

Returning to the actual point of the thread, I do wonder what the authorities have actually done to deal with the individuals and groups responsible for religiously and ethnically motivated violence and aggression on the streets of Jerusalem during and after the events...

Pretty much, it seems to me.

keenforhelp · 06/06/2024 13:40

Yes nothing.

In the same way that the UK authorities have done nothing to help UK Jews feel safer in the wake of the anti-Semitism on campuses, marches and stonings.

Nothing.

Were you there? Did you see nothing being done and would like to share your experience of nothing on this thread?

@Scirocco So far, only 18 people arrested. Unfortunately, Ben Gvir wasn't one of them.

Any reason why you insist derailing a thread ? @Scirocco is trying to bring the conversation back to the threads topic, why not respect it?

jusr saw a video from a Spanish journalist who lives in Jerusalem and who has been in the past harassed when going live in the Spanish tv. It’s about settlers attacking Palestinians and forcing them to put the Israel flag on their shops

Look whatever you may feel no one is about to come to your house, forcibly remove you and then move in. There are numerous incidents of this in Jerusalem/Al Quds, so to then have a parade by those same people is on another level.

While we all accept you say you don’t feel safe no one desires to throw you out of your home, your farm, your property in the UK. The Palestinians are facing a very real imminent risk.
