Camilla Tominey in the Telegraph today.
The sheer level of hatred in this article horrifies me. Am I wrong to feel so shocked by this?

I said I wasn’t going to respond to this again, but since you keep going on about it, I’m not saying Isreal does not have a lot of enemies, mainly Iran and it’s proxies , I just don’t agree it is surrounded by enemies because it has peace agreements in place and when it was attacked by Iran there was a coordinated effort to protect Israel that involved Arab states. That is a fact. Isn’t that something nice? Who is protecting Palestinine? No one and that is why they are vulnerable to genocide from the much more powerful Isreal. This is what people need to wake up to, and those that try to deny this are the ones spreading disinformation.

Marjoriefrobisher · 26/05/2024 08:20

Im afraid you’re just proving my point. People have patiently explained to you why what you are saying is wrong but your determination to portray this through your twisted lens is not dented a bit.
pointless engaging with people like this, really.

Israel is quite literally surrounded by enemies. Rockets and attacks from Lebanon in the north, Iran and the West Bank east, Yemen south and Gaza to the west.

Your problem is that you only care about Palestinians and therefore refuse to see anything else.

And no, I'm not going to let this go. You can't spread blatant lies and expect to get away with it. That's nonsensical. Hopefully you'll give up on it now though 🤞🏻

It isn’t worth your time, seriously. The behaviour should be labelled as what it is, then ignored.

Ok how about this Humdingerydoo , Israel is surrounded by enemies but also lot of friends that protect Israel from their enemies, who aren’t even very strong. Palestinians have no one to protect them from Israel which has the biggest and most sophisticated stock pile of weapons in the world.
I think point is this ( I appreciate you might not be interested ) is that genocide usually occur when people are scared. I appreciate you feel scared. I don’t personally see Iran and it’s proxies capable of doing much post October 7th. Iran is very poor and weak. Israel is very well protected surrounded by countries willing to shoot down missiles for it. I just want you to consider what it might be like living in a refugee camp knowing it can be bombed at any moment. No iron dome and no one shooting down the missiles. If you live in Israel I want you to consider what is going to happen to Palestinians in the future and demonstrate that empathy you say you have. That is all.

I guess if Hamas did their job and governed Gaza rather than launch an unprecedented attack on Israel then they wouldn't be in this position. They deserve better governance not governance by terrorists. I feel sympathy for them now daily and for them being governed by terrorists who won't lay down arms and surrender for the good of their own children. If they did that and released hostages then Israel would have to end the war, they'd be made to.

If you think missiles from Iran were shot down in order to protect Israel rather than to protect themselves, you're very, very wrong.

Your insistence that Israel's enemies are very poor and weak is also very, very wrong. It's sick to see how much you're actively minimising everything. I genuinely couldn't care less about your personal opinion about what Israel's enemies are capable of because you've demonstrated over and over again how utterly clueless you are about absolutely everything to do with this war and the region in general. I may as well ask my children their opinions and I'd get the same level of insight as you're giving me.

Feel free to see my previous posts about Palestinians if you want to see my empathy. I fucking hate Netanyahu and his right-wing nut job friends. I think any settlers, illegal or otherwise, in the west bank who commit violence towards Palestinians should be kicked out of their homes and locked up. I think there should be a two state solution and I think anyone sabotaging or preventing aid from getting in to Gaza right now is acting absolutely despicably. I think anyone who wants to leave Gaza should be allowed to do so, whether temporarily or permanently (again, based on their own wishes), following extensive background checks to ensure they aren't being used by terrorists, and that they should have a say in which country they end up in as they're humans and therefore should have a say in where they live.

You're the one displaying zero empathy or understanding towards Israel and Israelis. I mean, you go on about the iron dome - why do you think Israel has it? For shits and giggles? Come on, think about it. They wouldn't have it if it wasn't needed.

I can't help it, it pisses me off when people make such outrageously incorrect statements and then refuse to back down

ChickyBricky · 26/05/2024 10:25

At last, we have a solution to this horrible conflict!

@headstone , if you could just let Israeli families know this (maybe with a post on X or Insta?), I'm sure they will breathe a great big sigh of relief and everyone can go back to a normal life. How silly of them to persist in their dangerous delusions that they're under any kind of threat. And how unfair of them to take it out on their friendly neighbours.

Glad all that nonsense is over and done with.

Israel which has the biggest and most sophisticated stock pile of weapons in the world.

Not sure what that even means, but Israel is way down the list in terms of nuclear capbility

And not even in the top ten in the global military ranking system.

PM pledges to close loophole that let Gazans settle in UK

Thank God Starmer is showing some fucking sense on this issue. If we allow Gazans to come to the UK, we WILL end up with fucking Reform in charge of the country.

Sir Keir Starmer at the dispatch box during Prime Minister's Questions

Keir Starmer pledges to close loophole that let Gazan family settle in UK

The family won an appeal to come to the UK, after originally applying through a scheme for Ukrainians.

Britain has had a death wish since around 2015.

I was surprised and relieved to hear him say they were addressing this loophole.

💯

Sadly many people only appear to care about Palestinians and seem to lack/ignore the very real constant threats and attacks from various terrorist groups operating from the countries around them.

And what's with all the " isreals"? Isn't it odd how they manage to spell all the other countries correctly?

It is strange that 'is-real' is often used, no idea why though.

I believe it's a play on words and entirely deliberate , as in Israel - isn't -real. Just another way to mock and insult.

BakedAlaska12 · 14/02/2025 16:49

The “Isreal” thing is very tiresome. And the amount of times posters have claimed it to be a misspelling or typo… yet they do it again and again and again.

I hadn't thought of it like that but you're right, they can't all be mis spelling.

I mispronounced Israel , it’s not deliberate , I’m dyslexic and the phone remembers the mistakes.

I doubt the post was referencing you specifically, but those who aren't dyslexic and deliberately mis spell Israel 😊
