This is well worth a watch. It gives context to the Israel/Hamas conflict. Certainly doesn’t paint Hamas in a favourable light, I don’t think. Goes into chilling details of many terrible atrocities committed by Hamas. It Also disproves some of the allegations made by the Israeli government and repeatedly referred to by journalists and politicians around the world.

Also raises many questions on how October 7th ever happened…

October 7: Forensic analysis shows Hamas abuses, many false Israeli claims

Investigation draws up a list of those killed but also finds certain claims repeated by Israeli politicians untrue.

Israel obstructing access to Hamas attack victims: UN probe

Well that's totally normal! 😅

Is a thread about the victims of rape and sexual torture the right place for mocking emojis?

As far as ‘Israel obstructing access to Hamas victims’ is concerned, the three chairs of the UN Human Rights Council who established the UN probe -Navi Pillay, Chris Sidoti and Miloon Kothari- have exhibited longstanding hostility towards Israel, a concerning lack of objectivity and have previously downplayed Hamas’s activities and role in the conflict, if they’ve acknowledged it at all. It’s therefore not really surprising that Israeli authorities are exercising caution in allowing UNHRC’s chosen representatives anywhere near the victims because UNHRC’S competent handling of such a sensitive matter is seriously in doubt.

Mocking? Give me strength.

It would be respectful to approach the topic with the gravity it deserves.

Yes it would be refreshing if the original topic of the thread was actually discussed in a calm and measured way rather than deliberate "misunderstanding" of the OP and false outrage at pretty much anything certain posters don't agree with.

25milesfromhome · 17/04/2024 23:30

As it was the OP who derailed her own thread, I think you’d need to take that up with her really.
If you’d like to post in a calm and measured way without irreverent emojis and judgement, I’d be interested to read it.

I am calm. I'm not the one outraged by a smilie emoji.

25milesfromhome · 18/04/2024 10:52

I can’t see where I’ve expressed outrage about it? Just pointing out the lack of respect. I’ve been discussing and questioning posts on the thread topic by both the OP and others on this thread and will probably continue to do so. If you’d like to have a calm and measured discussion about the thread topic instead of continuous needling, complaints and attempts to steer this into some odd personal spat, please do contribute appropriately.

@EasterIssland , thank you for posting, this is a very interesting article which supports the general theme that many of the serious news outlets seem to be reporting.

I can’t really see how Ralph Nader’s thoughts on an unrelated subject are relevant to this thread.

As you’ve cited them, it would be interesting to read any reports you think support ‘the general theme’ on the UNHRC’s investigation from any serious news outlets, if you could link to them?

Are there any reports that dig deeper into the reasons why Israeli authorities don’t consider the UNHRC best placed to investigate the matter? As the UNHRC has previously chosen not to recognise or acknowledge some Hamas assaults, are there valid concerns about their impartiality and the quality of their enquiry?

Really good interviewer holding the spokesperson to account. If only all journalists were doing this.

Zionists become flustered and cry about the line of questioning because they can’t answer the questions.

Lovely analysis from the latest "Hamas is a resistance group" twitter account to posted on here like it's actual news.

Finallyloggedin · 30/04/2024 10:18

@oharobot to be honest I didn’t actually read the comment properly. It’s the video interview which is really good.

I've seen comments like this a few times on here. It's clearly the video that she's posting, not the silly comment.

Edited

Maybe don't post a tweet if you don't want people to comment on the tweet. It's not even the most dodgy account I've seen, someone posted a pro-Nazi one a while back but expected people just to look at the video it was reposting and ignore they dodgy accounts they some people apparently get their news from.

I didn't post the tweet. I'm just saying you're ignoring the substance of the post completely.

I didn't say you did. But I'm not going to ignore ore the text of the tweet that was posted or the account it came from, sorry.

Sure. I just think it's strange the ignore the substance of the post entirely but there you go.
