This is well worth a watch. It gives context to the Israel/Hamas conflict. Certainly doesn’t paint Hamas in a favourable light, I don’t think. Goes into chilling details of many terrible atrocities committed by Hamas. It Also disproves some of the allegations made by the Israeli government and repeatedly referred to by journalists and politicians around the world.

Also raises many questions on how October 7th ever happened…

October 7: Forensic analysis shows Hamas abuses, many false Israeli claims

Investigation draws up a list of those killed but also finds certain claims repeated by Israeli politicians untrue.

@metalchefitalian nobody here can tell any other poster why their post was deleted - that's a moderation decision so you'd need to ask Mumsnet to explain, or check the Talk Guidelines to see which one(s) you might have gone against.

Scirocco · 23/03/2024 22:16

I think it's interesting how little publicity the Al Jazeera report has had in the UK and US.

I wonder if you ever reported it is also complaining about censorship
This looks like an accusation to me

My post was deleted "due to questioning the veracity of the Hamas attacks on Israel" when I alluded to some of the claims mentioned in the video the OP posted.

Which given the topic of the thread is quite confusing. I guess I can't contribute further to the thread in that case.

anotherlevel · 24/03/2024 11:40

@ConnieCounter that is just pure censorship and not part of talk guidelines?. The thread is about discussing the footage whether we agree with it or not.

Dulra · 24/03/2024 11:42

Totally agree @anotherlevel it is censorship to control the narrative in that way and confirms the bias we were discussing

Yes, I made the point that those claims being investigated and debunked is the topic of the thread, not just my post, but I haven't heard back. In fairness it was late last night and maybe they don't work Sundays. But I agree I find it a very strange explanation for the deletion of the post.

Scirocco · 24/03/2024 11:46

@ConnieCounter that doesn't seem ok - I can't recall exactly what you said, but it didn't give the impression of denying anything independently confirmed. One of the key issues in the Al Jazeera report is that several contributors identified differences between what the available footage and eyewitness accounts reported and the widely publicised reports from politicians and figures whose credibility has since come into question. This highlights the need for independent experts to establish the facts and identify the perpetrators.

I'm really confused by this. Does this mean that you cannot question anything that anyone says happened to Israel? Like I said in my last post when I have reported disinformation I have been told that mumsnet is all about free speech and to 'debate it on the thread'. How can you 'debate' disinformation if you are not allowed to 'question the veracity' of claims?

anotherlevel · 24/03/2024 11:57

@Finallyloggedin were you able to find out why your post was deleted as well?

Scirocco · 24/03/2024 12:38

The early accounts of some things which have now been found to be either inaccurate or in need of further information, those accounts are still cited today as justification for events in Gaza and the West Bank, as well as fuelling Anti-Muslim hate around the world.

It's important to be able to discuss things - where did reports come from, what corroborating evidence there, what's happened when contradictory information comes to light, etc.

Regarding the Al Jazeera documentary, I saw earlier that they have released something else. I haven’t watched it yet but will do asap and then post it.

Well done to the UN 🇺🇳

I know it’s not perfect but it’s a start. Just praying that it gets implemented. And well done to every single person who demonstrated around the world. Would the US government have abstained if they could have gotten away with vetoing it again? They don’t suddenly care about human rights more than they did for the last vote, they know how angry their citizens are. Same for the UK. Sunak hasn’t suddenly grown a conscience, has he?

Please god a ceasefire gets enforced quickly 🙏

I do really worry that the call for a ceasefire is just for optics from the US and they have no intention of helping it to be implemented - in fact I just saw that Kirby has said he doesn’t know why Israel are annoyed as it’s “non binding.”

However, the fact that so many Israeli ministers are losing their shit is delicious 😂😂😂
