Oh FFS! Regardless of who started it and who can finish it... Children are suffering! CHILDREN! And the one thing I can be 100% sure of is that the children didn't cause it.

Anyone who cannot agree that it is tragic and heartbreaking, regardless of the side they stand on, is as inhumane as the people blowing things up and/or taking hostages.

It is ALWAYS civilians who suffer in war. Always. It's tragic.

BeretInParis · 12/03/2024 11:25

Lockpeopleinrooms · 12/03/2024 11:15

I think we all agree it’s tragic. That’s why Hamas should end it by returning hostages. Its simple

This with bells on and a cherry on top.

108Anj · 12/03/2024 11:29

It's not a war. Palestine does not even have an army, navy or airforce. Come to think of it, it doesn't have an airport- because Israel won't allow it. Nor does it have a port - because Israel won't allow it.

Lockpeopleinrooms · 12/03/2024 11:57

@108anj think you might need to check a dictionary. Weirdly enough wars don’t require an airport 🥴

PurpleChrayn · 12/03/2024 12:05

Their suffering will cease when the hostages are returned and the Palestinian state stops trying to annihilate Israel.

Is pointing out the failings of Hamas callous?

Completely absolving Israel is. Because you're denying what's happened to the Palestinians by ignoring the fact that Israel has killed 30000 people and has displaced and is starving millions. Aka genocide denial.

maudelovesharold · 12/03/2024 13:42

Well, you’ve used all the right words, but not necessarily in the right order…

No one's done that.

Lookatmeivechangedmyname · 12/03/2024 10:38

This. Hamas has done this to its own people.

Really? If I said to you that the Israeli government is responsible for 07/10 because of the blockade of goods to Gaza and the illegal occupation of East Jerusalem and the West Bank, would you accept it?
Hamas is responsible for 07/10 and the Israel government for what they are deliberately inflecting on the Palestinians.

ConnieCounter · 12/03/2024 13:43

Lookatmeivechangedmyname · 12/03/2024 13:42

No one's done that.

Did I miss your posts where you acknowledge what Israel has done?

Lookatmeivechangedmyname · 12/03/2024 13:43

Please look into what Hamas stand for and what they are leading their own people into.

Auvergne63 · 12/03/2024 13:46

Lookatmeivechangedmyname · 12/03/2024 10:38

Hamas have really done a good job on the propaganda. They've made large swathes of the west antisemitic despite everyone swearing blind "never again".

Actually, the Israeli government has done this and are actually creating more terrorists. I fear that the Israeli are less safe than before 07/10. I hope I am wrong though.

Absolutely with bells on.
Do they think their replies will convince anyone that doing this to children is justifiable? Bizarre. Maybe they should go out and trial a feedback group in the street, see how it goes down.

Auvergne63 · 12/03/2024 13:50

Lookatmeivechangedmyname · 12/03/2024 10:56

The old ethnic cleansing line. Tell me how, if genocide and ethnic cleansing is taking place, the population of Gaza has increased?

This a disgusting comment.

No one has said violence towards civilians is justified.

In a ranking by total fertility rate, this places Gaza 34th of 224 regions.[293][315] This leads to the Gaza Strip having an unusually high proportion of children in the population, with 43.5% of the population being 14 or younger and a median age in 2014 of 18, compared to a world average of 28, and 30 in Israel. The only countries with a lower median age are countries in Africa such as Uganda where it was 15.[315]

What do 2022 fertility rates have to do with 2023/2024 ethnic cleansing and genocide?

Precisely this. They are in their own little echo chamber of hate here on Mumsnet. The tide has well and truly changed, the younger generation have seen and they will not unsee the last few months.. there is hope for the future for the Palestinians

I have also noticed this. The hatred for Palestinians on here is evident.

Auvergne63 · 12/03/2024 13:56

The irony!

Is this what people do when they feel they’re losing an argument now - exclaim ‘bots’!

Goodness me! I really wish it is the work of bots because to think that some of my fellow human beings can support this genocidal government is too upsetting .

I think you need to check the definition of war.

When will you acknowledge that the Israeli government is responsible for their actions?
