Hamas refusing ceasefire??????

So President Biden is under the impression that a ceasefire could be in place by the weekend ....

Queue celebration (presumably) by all those that march on the streets calling for a ceasefire.

Then we find our Hamas have problems with it!!!!! The same Hamas that are supposed to be acting in their people's intsrests

We now know who really does not want to engage in ceasefire talks and release hostages. We now know who the ire of all those marchers in London should be directed against.

I feel Hamas want this war to continue as is as they are thriving on the sympathy the war is bringing to Palestinians. The more global 'support' is demonstrated the more they feel they have a chance of being part of a post war peace

I think on it a lot, being Jewish. I am the one facing antisemtism because of what is being done by IDF in my name, for the only Jewish state in the world. I think about it alot because the consequences of the choices that IDF and Israel’s government have made will likely affect me and my children.

I am gobsmacked that you don’t understand that the presence of Hamas (enemy fighters) in a declared safe zone for civilian evacuation doesn’t make it not a safe zone and open to indiscriminate attack.

No. I don’t expect you to understand.

Echobelly · 28/02/2024 17:46

I'm Jewish and wish we could just blame Hamas for everything but Israel really has chosen to go as low as Hamas have done by targeting civilians and deliberately keeping away aid and food.

I know their rationale is 'But Hamas will take it'... well, you take that goddamn chance. Either aid will get to the people of Gaza, in which case you can avoid at least some of the crimes against humanity stuff - or if it doesn't, you can say ' Look, we delivered all this aid but Hamas took it and didn't give it to the people' and then you might actually start looking better than Hamas.

KestrelMoon · 28/02/2024 17:48

Agree @Echobelly

It wasn’t. But I despair of explaining it to you.

It is still supposed to be safe for the civilians in it.

Can’t be literally what I said when even a plagiarism detector would find you did not repeat or closely paraphrase a single thing I said.

You most certainly do not get it.

LindorDoubleChoc · 28/02/2024 17:55

I do wonder if the people who think the annihilation 28,000+ civilians (so far) can be justified, also think that a good way for the UK Government to deal with the IRA would have been to destroy Belfast and other cities in Northern Ireland without a care for the citizens, cut off all supplies and services, force everyone to move south and then bomb the fuck out of wherever those displaced people were trying to stay safe? The IRA terrorists were mainly sheltering in Northern Ireland after all.

I just cannot get my head round it!

I rarely post on these threads because I know it's pointless and I will be accused of anti-semitism, which is both gross and offensive.

Part of the terms, which Israel rejected, included allowing full access for humanitarian aid.

You think killing 1000s of children isn't as bad because they weren't raped first?

Umm one is the Jewish News syndicate, JNS..
From Wikipedia :
The Adelson Foundation was revealed in 2015 to be the largest single funder of JNS.[2][7][8] Between 2013 and 2015, the Adelson Foundation had contributed over $1.2 million. The Adelson Foundation gives $200 million annually to Jewish and Israeli causes, the largest by far of any existing private foundation with that aim.
The foundation has two branches, one for medical charitable work and one to strengthen the Israeli state and the Jewish people.
The article you quoted was from December last year and the food situation has deteriorated since then. Most food thefts seem to be a matter of survival of the fittest so it may well be that fit young males are looting. It doesn’t appear to an organised Hamas activity - it’s a symptom of the supply problem, not a cause.
The other video is an old one from last year and it seems to have been a sporadic incident, rather than a pervasive problem as the pro Israeli lobby are experts in propaganda
