@stormy4319trevor point is though you don't know that none of that it true. That in desperate circumstances he did a good thing, the baby has had well deserved treatment (it wasn't just plonked somewhere in the hope of being found as someone suggested) and their parents won't be found.

You are normally a logical well reasoned person. Let's not jump to wild accusations that have no evidence in them. I will do some digging and see what I can find out Israel side. It is a war zone so it may have been difficult just to leave the baby. Remember the outrage with the babies in Hospital? This may not be the sinister picture it's being painted.

So is this ok to take babies out of their families / countries from now on with the excuse a better life will be given to them ? Or only if idf does it ?
specially if nobody else and no organisation from gaza knew about this child leaving this country

Toothyfruity · 02/01/2024 18:59

Yes. I wouldn't assume the best when we know what they're capable of. After leaving the premies to die alone anything is possible.

stomachameleon · 02/01/2024 19:25

@stormy4319trevor I agree it's definitely not ok. Have asked if there is an more background information. Will post if I hear anything promise.

In general I do feel whatever I write will not be taken in good faith by some. I am not making excuses. I am keen on the truth though whatever that is.

@EasterIssland you don't know that or motivation. Once again I would say posters were raging at the babies left. We don't know at the moment what the situation is. And I distrust 'random instas and tiktoks'. Propaganda is rife on Both sides.

@Toothyfruity you can't have it both ways surely? They are either leaving them alone or not?

mostblobs · 02/01/2024 19:34

Tomatoshish · 02/01/2024 18:55

The problem is, it isn't an isolated incident. And the parents of other kids had theirs taken too. So I highly doubt he took the child to a hospital. Its possible, but doubtful.

I always wondered how historically blood libels against Jews could be so rampant.
Sadly, I wonder no longer.

Powerful and disturbing clip from documentary Tantura.

"In the war of 1948 hundreds of Palestinian villages were depopulated. Israelis call it 'The War of Independence. Palestinians call it 'Nakba"'. The film examines one village- Tantura and why "Nakba" is taboo in Israeli society."

Oh please. As though the only options for the IDF regarding babies who are victims of their bombing campaign of civilian targets is to leave them to die alone or take them illegally to Israel for God knows what reason. 🙄

I think there is a difference between :
-leave a child to death instead of taking them to safe place and letting organisations / family know where these babies go
-take a child to another country without telling anyone related with their family or any local organisations

no child should be left behind. No child should be taken abroad without the permission of their next of kin (this is kidnap)

Tomatoshish · 02/01/2024 19:54

@mostblobs yes. On the aljazeera link I attached on page 35. Attached eh end of the video the man says him.and his wife where taken onto one of the trucks. She was made to show her hair and their 2 children where taken.

mostblobs · 02/01/2024 19:57

@Tomatoshish I don't think I can bear to watch it. Too disturbing. I can't imagine anything worse than your kids being taken from you. Flowers

How is it blood libel?

Israel is a nation state. The IDF is the army of that state. We are repeatedly told that 20% of the population of Israel are not Jewish.

You are the only person here talking about Jewish people. The rest of us are talking about the IDF and some of their appalling actions in Gaza. I'm quite surprised senior military personnel haven't banned soldiers from posting videos on social media, they keep incriminating themselves.

Do accuse everyone who criticises the army or government of a country of racial prejudice? What prejudice do you think people who criticise Putin and the Russian army are guilty of?

Tomatoshish · 02/01/2024 20:02

I don't recall ever saying anything about Jewish people. But the IDF who is the military in Israel. Don't try and paint this as antisemitic as its not at all

Let's be real taking a child across borders could be considered child trafficking.

It’s not the first time it has happened that an army person (USA) has taken babies with them thinking they were doing a good thing and the kids family claiming them back after

So awful!

gloriagloria · 02/01/2024 20:36

There’s reporting that several Hamas leaders have been killed in a bomb blast in Beirut. When people say “what do you expect Israel to do?” Assuming the news is true I would say THIS! They have a massively well funded intelligence service with the capability to carry out high-level targeted anti-terrorism against Hamas leaders.Yet they send in untrained conscripts to bomb the hell out of Palestinian children and civilians with no regard for human life. The contrast between the surgical strike on key players and the ongoing massive civilian casualties is shocking.

gloriagloria · 02/01/2024 20:41

I would also add that these sorts of assassinations are not enough on their own an there needs to be a political solution that offers a real future to Palestinians

stomachameleon · 02/01/2024 20:46

Will message you @stormy4319trevor with info. As I said whatever I say is not taken in good faith.

Tbh I don’t expect Israel to do this. They should have let it handle to lebanon authorities rather than them bombing another country. This is inviting another country to a war(lebanons pm has already said that Israel is dragging them to the conflict). And I would expect Lebanon to have army and be more prepared than Gaza

gloriagloria · 02/01/2024 20:54

@EasterIssland i do completely take your point but Lebanon are up to their neck in this already, and Israel has never been squeamish before about operations outside its border

Parkingt111 · 02/01/2024 20:56

Or can post here and people can make of it what they will
Its always good to have different perspectives even if there is disagreements

stomachameleon · 02/01/2024 21:17

@EasterIssland I don't really understand your post. Rockets from Lebanon is no new thing neither is Hezbollah interference so they have had a long time to deal with this.

If countries give safe haven to terrorists they leave themselves open to this. Taking them out shows they are not untouchable.

I wasn’t talking about hezbollah but Lebanon government (unless Lebanon is run by hezbollah). And lebanons PM isn’t happy about what has happened In their country.

id not expect uk to bomb Spain in order to kill a terrorist. Id expect uk to work with Spain in order to take down the terrorist. Same way I don’t expect Israel to go and strike another country and kill terrorists but also apparently 5 more people who could be civilians.
