I wish I had an answer to your question.

When I clicked onto that post a post from Eye on Palestine came up automatically afterwards of a screaming baby being dug out of rubble today in Palestine. The baby was no more than a few months old.

It's just so horrific and sad and no end in sight.

I’m sorry you had to see that. We see so many of these videos that we could be desensitized by now. The fact that you’re not says a lot about your humanity and compassion.

Their immaturity is very telling. They enjoy the demise of the Palestinians. They enjoy terrorising them.

Some poor child does not have a proper bed or home at the moment and this is how the IDF behave in that child's private bedroom that the child can't even use😥

I saw the beginning of the video and was horrified when I realised that was a small baby they were trying to dig out of the rubble with their bare hands.
I couldn't watch it all, I'm just praying the baby somehow miraculously survived

I turned it off immediately. I knew I would be in a bad mood all day and wouldn't sleep a wink if I watched it. Poor baby. I hope and pray they make it. And their family.

Here's another case of an IDF soldier taking a child from Gaza. In this case it's portrayed as a humanitarian act.

No, of course not, that would be a crime.

They're the most moral army so they are saving them!

One can only wonder at the true motives and where that baby is now.

Toothyfruity · 02/01/2024 09:21

The stealing babies story makes me sick. I remember feeling so disgusted when I saw footage of what were apparently Hamas fighters "babysitting" kidnapped children from Israel including a baby in a pram. Same disgust with this one.

anotherlevel · 02/01/2024 10:06

@FOJN there's just so much wrong with this and what I can't comprehend is why other posters cannot condemn the IDF and government for their acts.

I wonder where that baby is now. If the baby has any remaining family who think that he/she must have died with other family members whilst not knowing they were taken into Israel. And if there has been other similar cases that we don't know about
It's extremely sad

The whereabouts of the baby is now even more uncertain because the officer who took her died.

Who has she been handed onto?

The person who recounted this story during the radio interview didn't seem to pick up on the interviewers shock.

It seems as if it doesn't even occur to the IDF that they can do any wrong. What are they being told by senior officers to give them that sense of invincibility.

I saw another clip where they were filming themselves having fun whilst preparing to bomb a mosque. They went into the mosque to plant the explosives so it was clear they knew there were no Hamas fighters inside.
What justification can they give for that?

I'm sure it is. Sorry if the sarcasm in my response to your earlier post didn't translate well.

FOJN · 02/01/2024 15:08

Aljazeera now reporting on the baby from Gaza taken to Israel.

The original interview segment has been taken down and whoever commented for Israel said the baby had been taken to an Israeli hospital.
They are not even trying to deny it because they don't think the soldier has done anything wrong.

untitledmum · 02/01/2024 15:14

What exactly has Israel done wrong for taking a baby to Israeli hospital? Had the soldiers left the baby there, the aljazeera headlines would be broadcasting "Israel abandoned baby to die alone..."
During war news is always coloured by propaganda. This is true on both sides. There is very little broadcasting that can be trusted and speculating and assumptions only increases the conflict.

stomachameleon · 02/01/2024 15:27

So let me get this right...
You were appalled and disgusted when babies were left in incubators unable to be evacuated. You called it a war crime.
So should the IDF have moved them as they have this baby?
Which is now a 'war crime?'
Make your mind up.

Lots of Palestinian children receive treatment in Israeli hospitals. Lots of the people murdered by Hamas and some held hostage used to take them.

Desertrose2023 · 02/01/2024 15:35

Where is the baby now? Has it been returned to its rightful blood family? Do they know it’s alive? has it simply been stolen to be raised in Israel? Certainly the information coming out seems to imply the latter. If it has just been taken for treatment in an Israeli hospital why hasn’t the IDF come out with a formal statement identifying the child, it’s family and its current whereabouts?

Also, whatever the circumstances turn out it be, it’s a bit rich to be trying to position this as an act of mercy given the baby would still be with its parents in the first place had they not been the victims of IDF bombing.
