Here is the link to the whole Haaretz article 20 Oct in Hebrew. It was never in English. You need to translate it.

Excerpt from Haaretz translated from Hebrew (my bolding):

(Joshua (Josh) Breiner
11:48, November 18, 2023

There is a growing assessment in the security establishment that the terrorists who carried out the massacre on October 7 did not know in advance about the Nova festival held near Kibbutz Ra'im, and decided to come to the place after discovering that a mass event was taking place there. The security system's assessment relies, among other things, on the investigations of the terrorists and the investigation of the incident by the police, from which it appears that the terrorists intended to reach Kibbutz Ra'im and nearby kibbutzim. According to a police source, an investigation into the incident also revealed that an IDF combat helicopter that arrived at the scene from the Ramat David base fired at the terrorists and apparently also hit some of the revelers who were there. According to the police, 364 people were killed at the festival

No, unfortunately not. I have tried giving my email as requested but can’t read full articles.

It was chance that those others were in full and one if not both Hebrew (another poster some weeks found them whose name I can’t recall). One was archived. I will see if I can find a link to the other.

So essentially, the civilian population is "worth less" than someone in the military, is that correct?

Not quite. On the 7th October Hamas specifically targeted military outposts. The aim was to kidnap Soldiers and exchange them for Palestinians detained by Israel. They were hoping for a repeat of the time Israel exchanged 1 Israeli soldier for 1000 Palestinians. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gilad_Shalit_prisoner_exchange#:~:text=In%20the%20end%20of%20December,agreement%20reached%20five%20years%20later.

Though the Israeli government insists that the Hannibal directive is no longer in effect, their actions do not seem to show that.

As for if civilians are worth less, I would argue that it's the soldiers. From a purely security perspective it would be better for them to be expired, before they can reveal any secrets and can be used as leverage, making Israel appear weak.

A number of people including women, children and babies were killed execution-style by Israeli forces while sheltering inside a school.

Exclusive video and images obtained by Al Jazeera this morning show bodies piled up inside the Shadia Abu Ghazala School in the al-Faluja area, west of the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip.

Witnesses said a number of people including women, children and babies were killed execution-style by Israeli forces while sheltering inside the school.

“The Israeli soldiers came in and opened fire on them,” a woman at the scene said. “They took all men, then entered classrooms and opened fire on a woman and all the children with her.”

The woman said there were newborn children among them. “The Israeli soldiers executed those innocent families at point blank,” she added.

@mostblobs WTF!?! An atrocity. How is this being allowed to happen? I can't get my head around the depravity of the IDF.

Has it even been evidenced that the IDF did this?

An atrocity if true but far more likely that they were killed by their terrorist government to make it look like the Israelis did it. Hamas must be getting desperate for more anti Israel propaganda and it’s not like they haven’t done stuff like this before.

Did the IDF do it in the same way it was evidenced that they left deliberately left those poor babies to rot in the NICU and executed all the hundreds of men they arrested a few days ago as stated on here. Oh wait……….

They [the IDF] raped and murdered women and men at a peace festival not realising they weren’t military targets

No, none of the reports said that, nor any posters as far as I am aware.

That takes the prize for the most pathetic terrorist apologist bullshit that I’ve read on MN so far.

Some evidence of own fire was written about in a couple of Haaretz articles one based on an Israeli police report; another on a report about someone who had been there. Then there was the video of an Israeli woman who was there speaking about what she witnessed.

Early on there was another women who mentioned own fire Jasmin Porat who was there Oct 7 and escaped but her testimony was apparently in a radio interview its harder to trace.

This video was posted the other day.

None of this means it was not Hamas’s responsibility. It would not have happened without Hamas’s savage attack. None of it means Hamas did not slaughter torture rape and kill.

That mass desecration of the graves is very nasty. I’d be scared of a spiritual retaliation/bad luck if I were the IDF.

Sorry, FrozenWindscreen, I quoted you by mistake.

@Overstudy The IDF are known to use children as human shields which makes them no better than terrorists.
