“Pause” ends tomorrow. Anyone else filled with dread ?

Just that really. I’ve felt such relief the past couple of days that my phone won’t be filled with a constant stream of murdered Palestinian kids and wailing parents. That all ends tomorrow and I have such a sense of foreboding even though I’m safe and comfortable thousands of miles away. I can’t begin to imagine the dread the Palestinians in Gaza must be feeling tonight knowing their genocide resumes tomorrow. When will it end 😞

don't do those things to us in future or we might even revert to what we did in WWII to end the war with the H bomb etc. War is awful but Israel certainly did not start this.

Your posts are never exactly measured, but for goodness sake stop spewing such hatred.
The UK government supports the Israeli government, public outrage should tell you that the UK public, largely, does not.
"Those that we do not like"... give me strength.

I hope you’re never PM or close to one with such hatred words.

Honestly............................

Xenia's "we" is so ominous. Reminds me of Bush - you are either with us or against us (the with us, obv, meaning please support our fake war in Iraq to kill a million people, destroy a country, steal the oil, and then admit it was a slight mistake)

Is she actually threatening with a nuclear bomb on Gaza?

This message is literally a threat - we cant use the word murder or genocide, but she is threatening bombs. Wow.

PM... first be loosely human....

Not that the latter is a necessity for being the former sadly

Yep, H bomb is a thermonuclear bomb. I don't even think that poster is a troll - worryingly, I believe they are being quite genuine.

Absolutely. I do try very hard to be reasoned in all of my responses, but statements like that... it's a scary mindset and worrying that some see it as a viable option.

So MN just sent an email saying "they remove any posts that employ stereotypes, conspiracy theories or target Jewish people as a whole"..... interesting that Palestinians or any other religions are not mentioned. So people can accuse all Palestinians of being Hamas/terrorists, and that won't flout MN rules?

I reported posts equating the Palestinian flag with Hamas and was told they would be allowed to stand as it was the poster's opinion...

Unbelievable
Slightly dystopian

EasterIssland · 02/12/2023 20:58

I’ve been told that as long as the comment is not directed at a person directly your post respects guidelines.

I did reply “oh so can I say then that all those that support Israel then are xyz (something negative)” and not be told off ? Because id expect you to tell me off and delete my message. I never heard back from 🤷🏻‍♀️@mnhq

hope there is a ceasefire now for the shake of the Palestinians

ChickHenLittle · 02/12/2023 21:01

@EasterIssland @Chaitales I've attached a screenshot of the response. Anyone shouting hate speech while waving the Palestinian flag has hijacked it and should be arrested (the original post said the Palestinian flag represented Hamas when those waving it called for heinous acts such as death to all Jews). Such acts do not represent Palestine or its flag. The Palestinian flag does not represent Hamas. Ever. Hamas have their own flag and hell mend those waving it!

May I add that some other threads are full of personal insults that are not deleted. I now avoid many and have stopped following them due to the way some posters, myself included, are talked about. It feels like being back in the playground.

Lifesd · 02/12/2023 21:07

@Chaitales what would you call people who are in prison in this country for terrorist related crimes? Or is it just Isreal who isn’t allowed to incarcerate people who commit acts of terror against them?

For crimes - yes. In the UK, there is a legal system that is adhered to. Israel's legal system is a documented apartheid system that allows Palestinians to be incarcerated and tortured with basic rights withheld for indefinite periods without being charged, which many international organisations have condemned. It's an easy Google.

  1. Is there proof that all those that in prison In Israel have committed terrorist attacks?
  1. Have these people have a fair court?
  2. Have they even gone through a court?
  3. Would you expect the people in the uk to go through tortures whilst they are in prison ?
Lifesd · 02/12/2023 21:35

@Chaitales Guantanamo? Pretty sure as well the UK has indulged in practices that don’t comply with international law and I’m glad they have. Countries do what they need to do to protect themselves - is it pretty, no. Also an easy google.

Breaking the law while pretending what you're doing is self defence... No, not a great example to set. The UK government aren't exactly a shining example in their support for the barbaric actions of the Israeli government.

So you're advocating that Guantanamo is a good example to follow? Iraqi detainees in a falsified war were tortured, dehumanised, mal treated - on a false premise.
What about Iraq war - that was an example of UK conducting an illegal war - destroying a country and killing millions - are you advocating that is correct?
UK created an insurgency against Mau Mau in Kenya - killing millions - based on racism and imperialism versus a real threat
Killed millions of Bengalis and Indians in famines by exporting all their food and riches to the UK
Killed thousands in Amritsar peacefully protesting - I believe King Charles apologised (or nearly apologised)
All correct, just because they can?

Lifesd · 02/12/2023 21:43

No they aren’t, but neither is justifying the taking of innocents and the other actions of an open terrorist organisation which is wholly opposed to the western way of life. This is a brutal bloody war with appalling atrocities on both sides. I’ve no skin in this game but I don’t paint it as black and white as the warped posters on these boards seem too.

This latest footage shows a residential building that had displaced families in flattened; the last 7 weeks of Israeli bombing has proven to be an ineffective way of destroying Hamas but very effective at killing civilians in the thousands and yet they are still doing it! I feel that man’s anger!

Can you indicate who or where the taking of innocents has been justified or condoned please
