“Pause” ends tomorrow. Anyone else filled with dread ?

Just that really. I’ve felt such relief the past couple of days that my phone won’t be filled with a constant stream of murdered Palestinian kids and wailing parents. That all ends tomorrow and I have such a sense of foreboding even though I’m safe and comfortable thousands of miles away. I can’t begin to imagine the dread the Palestinians in Gaza must be feeling tonight knowing their genocide resumes tomorrow. When will it end 😞

I am full of dread as well. Might need a bit of help to get to sleep tonight.

LittleMsTellTheTruth · 27/11/2023 15:32

Yes.
I’m scared Israel is just going bomb Gaza double the amount.
And are just more angry now.
I’m sure they weren’t happy with this pause at all.

And it must be so scary for people in Gaza waiting / going back to being bombed.
I mean, knowing what is coming, having this ’pause’ and seeing the damage what has already been done and it all starting again.
I don’t even have any words at this point.

Must be a terrible feeling for those released from Israeli jails. To think they're "freedom" has cost so many people their lives.
And its still not the end

EasterIssland · 27/11/2023 16:05

It shouldn’t be a pause. It should be a stop. Hopefully they’re working towards it

roarrfeckingroar · 27/11/2023 16:07

When are Hamas planning to release the rest of their hostages? And stop firing rockets into Israel?

Didn't take long

Im sure they are relieved to be home & some will have to start processing losing their loved ones.

Cattiwampus · 27/11/2023 16:13

Why would the IDF stop?
What are the consequences for Israel if they do or don’t?
The only thing that might extend the pause is if Hamas have hostages to barter, when that ends, so will the pause.

petuniasandpetals · 27/11/2023 16:20

There will be a ceasefire when all the hostages are returned and when Hamas hands themselves over to Israel.
Or when Israel kills Hamas leaders.
And there is now a further 2 days truce ... hopefully we will get to the end point sooner rather than later.

usererror99 · 27/11/2023 16:20

The ceasefire will be extended if they continue with the hostage release - problem is Hamas themselves admit they don't where many are - several different terrorist groups crossed into Israel and took hostages. They've already breached terms by releasing one girl without her mother saying they didn't know where she was and yet the child herself said she was with her mother until 2 days before. They aren't in control - seems like the hostages released so far have been kept in relatively ok conditions by Hamas - bet the same can't be said for the young women held by other groups....and I should think Hamas knows when the truth is known for sure the bombs will fall

I know, it fills you with dread the incessantly hostile actions of Hamas.

Don't be so naive.
Israeli government considers the palestinains complicit. Thye refer to the civialins including stone throwing children as terrorists. They have been taking civilians as prisoners under administrative detention for years. This will not end with Hamas. As long as Israel continues its despicable treatment of Palestinians then more and more groups like hamas will continue to form. It's a vicious cycle

Chaitales · 27/11/2023 16:25

Agree. Even during the "pause" all Gazans were doing was finding pieces and limbs of their loved ones. While waiting for Israels next set of atrocities.

Did anyone see Dr Ghassan Sittas press conference? Heartbreakingly awful. Israel has outdone even itself in its violence towards Palestinians.

A month and a half after they’ve not managed to do what they wanted to do (only by negotiating with Hamas they’ve managed to release the hostages) and they’ve killed nearly 20k people. I think that’s enough reason to sit down and talk rather than to Continue with more deaths and destruction

What happened to the little girls mum? Is she still being held hostage by hamas or are they not sure who she's with?

@Itsaharddlife

Hamas said she couldn't be located but the little girl (she was held with her Mum and Emily Hand) said she was with her mum until recently

Also find it very odd they the name of the girl and her family who were taken with Emily (whose house she went to sleepover at) have not been released

LimeCheesecake · 27/11/2023 16:29

I think if there are more hostages being released, the pause will have to be extended, politically they can’t be seen to not be doing anything possible to get the hostages back - particularly the children. Sadly I think @usererror99 might be right about the ease of getting the hostages rounded up and handed over.

What are you insinuating?

Wale90 · 27/11/2023 16:35

I'm so fearful of a harsher pushback from Israel once the truce is over.

Not forgetting they have continued to cause suffering in the West Bank throughout

Cattiwampus · 27/11/2023 16:39

Easterissland, you think it makes sense because you care about the 20K.
Do you think that Netanyahu feels the same way?

No, I'm not filled with dread. I am safe and far away, not involved. I would feel a complete fraud to be "filled with dread"!! It is not my dread to feel!!!

I feel huge sympathy for all of those who rightfully do feel full of dread, because they don't know what atrocities and suffering they may be facing.

Plus I feel sympathy for all of those afflicted in this conflict. I don't consider there to be any hierarchy of victims, as some posters apparently do.

You're just as maimed, just as dead, just as bereaved, just as captured, whichever 'side' of the situation you are on...
