“Genocide was the overwhelming impression that I got,” says @mperlmuttermd, orthopedics hand surgery specialist and president of the World Surgical Foundation who just volunteered in Gaza. “This is dehumanization. The purpose of this is to kill a population.”

Thank you for sharing.

The story of Al-Shifa needs to be told.

During the massacre at al-Shifa Hospital, the Israeli army shot patients in their beds and doctors who refused to abandon the sick, separated people into groups with differently-colored bracelets, and executed hundreds of civil government employees.

Unbelievable savagery. I hope this gets more mainstream coverage.

Despite two weeks having passed since the Israeli forces' withdrawal, Palestinians are still uncovering the bodies of civilians, including women and children, hidden under piles of sand and rubble by Israeli bulldozers in the area.

WHO pleads for more medicine, support at Gaza’s ah-Ahali Arab Hospital

Ah-Ahli Arab Hospital in northern Gaza is so overcrowded, with more than 100 patients, that it is being forced to use benches as beds for the wounded, said the World Health Organisations’s (WHO’s) representative in the occupied Palestinian territory, Dr. Richard Pepperkorn.

The facility urgently needs more medical staff, specifically those specialising in vascular and reconstructive surgery, as well as more medication, including anesthesia, said Peeperkorn during a visit to the facility.

Terrible. The horror of what happened there seems unimaginable. I wonder will we ever hear the truth.

Parkingt111 · 21/04/2024 21:07

@Toothyfruity I don't know if we will ever know the full reality of the horrors. As can be seen above anyone who may have been alive to relay what happened are being discovered in mass graves

PeasfullPerson · 21/04/2024 21:27

We will probably be told they were all members of Hamas, or deserved it for some reason or the other. If there is anyone that needs to be under mass surveillance, it’s not the people of Gaza, it’s the IDF.

Scirocco · 21/04/2024 22:21

@PeasfullPerson I remember when two of my friends were executed at a hospital, I was told:

Surely I could appreciate it's hard to not make mistakes in the heat of battle

They should have tried harder to be clear that they weren't combatants

They were probably Hamas anyway

...

I wonder what excuses and justifications we'll hear this time.

PeasfullPerson · 21/04/2024 23:09

@Scirocco I am sorry for your friends and I am sorry that you have to listen to people trying to dismiss and justify their deaths. It must be incredibly painful, and infuriating. Some people see what they want to see, and some people seem to know, and be willing to mislead us.

Mags48 · 21/04/2024 23:12

I have no words. The news coming out about mass graves is horrific.

More on the mass graves at Nasser

In the ruins of what had been Nasser hospital, the biggest in southern Gaza, Reuters saw emergency workers in white hazmat suits digging corpses out of the ground with hand tools and a digger truck. The emergency services said 73 more bodies had been found at the site in the past day, raising the number found over the week to 283.

Gaza authorities say the bodies recovered so far are from just one of at least three mass graves they have found at the site.

“We expect to find another 200 bodies at the same mass grave in the coming two days before we will begin working at the two other cemeteries,” Ismail Al-Thawabta, director of the Hamas-run government media office, told Reuters

And Israel supporters still have the nerve to say it isn't a genocide. The evidence is right there in what they done at Al Shifa. I wonder how they are going to excuse this?

In other words it is the site of massacres.

From CNN

There were signs of field executions. We do not know if they were buried alive or executed. Most of the bodies are decomposed."

Horrific let's hope this can all be independently verified and investigated

Very moving ( and disturbing ) interview on channel 4 news with a soldier who recently served with the IDF .

Yes, I have just seen that too and agree. It was brave of him. They disguised his voice but I think some aspects could make him traceable.

I would urge people to watch if they can, it is both sobering and moving.

At the end he says something like: when you think of the horror of Oct 7, and the horror of what is now being done to the Palestinians, it is as though Hamas and Netanyahu are on the same side, with no hope for the future for either of our people.

He said he will have to live with what he has taken part in for the rest of his life.

There will be Channel 4 + 1 in 13 minutes.

Scirocco · 23/04/2024 20:10

@ScrollingLeaves I do hope he and others in similar situations can heal in time. Recovering from the trauma of what you have had to do in combat situations is hard enough for people when they are able to rationalise to an extent that there was no alternative to their actions.

Parkingt111 · 23/04/2024 20:27

Is there a recorded link for it please?
