The poster said, consistently. I’m sure they view the tens of thousands murdered and the whole population starving as making the world a better place too. Comments like that are just as gross as celebrating October 7th.

@Supra

Every time the Israeli military leave an area there will be room for Hamas to move back. In this case they cynically used a hospital for a base for attqck.

I agreed it would have been better to have troops stationed there but I guess there is a resource limit.

Exactly incompetence. From a military perspective if you're trying to push back and push out Hamas it makes no sense to leave key sites you have infiltrated vulnerable to reoccupation requiring you to have to track back and occupy all over again and rather than protect innocent ill and dying civilians you leave them vulnerable to having to evacuate a hospital again!

mids2019 · 01/04/2024 12:46

it is difficult to get the truth in any war zone so maybe we will have to wait until international bodies can gain access to get the facts.

to my mind there were probably terrorists spread across the compound so the question is how best from a military point of view to deal with this! I would imagine calling on fighter bombers would minimise us into soldiers. I don't the OFF would risk shooting without discrimination so there must have been limitations to be acheived. Urban warfare has been historically diffcuky . I think he question is how you do it while minimising both risk to your own troops and minimising focus on casua lties.

I'm curious to know @mids2019 which 'international bodies' you forsee investigating this given Israel's hostility to the usual organisations doing this sort of thing

Al-Shifa is in ruins.

It might seem like a small thing to some people, but some of us put a great deal of our hearts and efforts into that hospital and others. I thought I'd be prepared to see it by now. I'm not.

shifa

Gaza's al-Shifa hospital in ruins after two-week Israeli raid

Dozens of bodies are found and al-Shifa is "completely out of service", Hamas-run authorities say.

Why do we have to wait for the international organisations to be allowed in to understand the truth. Why doesn’t Israel allow these organisations now in (or 6 months ago)

The results are remarkable:

  • 6,000 civilians were evacuated by the IDF to keep them safe.
  • 200 Hamas terrorists were killed.
  • 500 Hamas terrorists have been captured.
  • No civilian was killed. Not one.

Babies executed

Bodies apparently mutilated

tweet 2(this one has a video but I prefer not to share it as it was triggering warning)

Palestinian bodies still being recovered in the Al-Shafa Hospital yards clearly executed by israeli troops with their legs tied

tweet 3

400 bodies, some run over by tanks, some buried alive in body bags, burned buildings & executing children under 13s.

shall i trust them that they all were Hamas and nobody was a civilian?

Even the BBCs written reports put everything the Israeli government and IDF claim in inverted commas

Isn't it better to believe the IDF than a health organisation can by a terrorist orgnasiation.

It is good to at least have a number because you wish to stop a narrative that the IDF are operating as death squads which is absolutely not the case. Maybe they had to get a number out quickly to justify the scale of the actiion?

No. It I'd really rather not believe the IDF and I will take anything they say with a pinch of salt. The ICJ has said that they are potentially commiting genocide. Day in day out I see footage of IDF soldiers shooting civilians holding white flags for sport, looting dead people's belongings and posting it on tiktok. Mocking and verbally abusing Palestinians as they are displaced from their homes. The starving children taking out of Al-Shifa today having not had water or food for 5 days. The IDF really are in no place to take the moral high ground ever again - if they ever were. One day this will be over, but the world won't forget.

My apologies, I posted this in the wrong place. I have reported it and it will get removed.

@ScrollingLeaves I particularly like how it's a white man 'educating' the women from minority groups in that picture.

You are so right! Thank you, I had entirely missed that. I had not been quite sure what those women represented in relation to Pride.

A need to be enlightened and educated by the nice white man...

I've just been watching LBC on Youtube this morning. There was an interview with Nick Maynard who is an NHS Surgeon who has worked numerous times in Al-Aqsa and Al-Shifa hospital over a number of years. He said that on all occasions, he never saw a Hamas militant and was given full access to both hospitals with no restrictions as were his numerous foreign colleagues. He said that a number of doctors who he has worked with and known for years have been executed, he believes because they are health workers ( I am assuming because it contributes to the unliveable conditions in Gaza) and there are others that are still missing. He said that he doe not believe there are Hamas activities carried out in either hospitals and this has been echoed by other interviews with British and European Doctors that i have listened to.
I would believe Nick Maynard over the IDF any day.

Efacsen · 02/04/2024 12:38

Al-Shifa Hospital totally destroyed: WHO

“Destroying al-Shifa means ripping the heart out of the health system,” WHO spokesperson Margaret Harris said.
“It was the place people go to for the kind of care that a really good health system provides, that we in all our societies expect to have should we be in need.”

It’s grim, and the Israeli government expect people to believe this was necessary.
