@Hiddenmnetter I firmly believe that Mossad are on the case so to speak. Tbh I expect it of them. If they can track down Nazi's twenty/ thirty years after the fact that's the least they can do.

Tbf i doubt it’ll take 20-30 years- the leaders of Hamas are all holed up in Doha living the lives of Russian oligarchs while the rank and file and ordinarily Palestinians bear the consequences of their decisions.

So sad.
These children are probably without their parents too as they were told to leave.

It will be dark now - and probably chilly too

Surely someone will do something to help them

There’s no further updates on them at all but I can’t believe they are just being left there.
Surely they are at least in an ambulance!

I understand three hospitals in the West Bank were surrounded by the IDF last night.
Making them, of course, unusable.
When the last hospitals have gone there’s no way the field hospitals in the South and new airplane could cope with the number of injured. Especially as there is no let up in the WB at the moment.

We would hope so
The UN and WHO Red Cross etc can go the North even if civilians can't
It is incredibly cruel that they have been left out in the car park of the hospital when they are physically unable to leave or help themselves
And I haven't seen any mainstream coverage of it either

Efacsen · 26/11/2023 17:33

Maybe no-one else has reported the situation/resolution because the hostages are the main story today - the little bit I posted first thing from the UN wasn't reported til 1.30am

Parkingt111 · 26/11/2023 17:41

@Efacsen omg I have just gone to have a look
I can't believe what I am seeing
They have just been left out in front of the hospital and all around is destruction and rubbish
This isn't graphic but you can see how dire it is.
How does one stay calm or composed or rational when clearly all lives are nowhere near equal

Stomacharmeleon · 26/11/2023 17:41

I would assume (or hope) the Palestinian Red Cross, WHO and UN would be aware.

Parkingt111 · 26/11/2023 17:45

@Stomacharmeleon Gaza's health care system has been more or less destroyed
The roads around shifa have been more or less destroyed
They will probably need external help and then it's the logistics of having it arranged if they can get it

Thereissomelight · 26/11/2023 17:46

@Parkingt111
To reduce a hospital to this. I don’t know how anyone could think this is ok but clearly and unfortunately for the world there are people who do.

Stomacharmeleon · 26/11/2023 17:49

@Parkingt111 see without sounding goady I feel like how can you on hand berate Israel for the world to see through you 'health authority' for not providing medical equipment and power then negotiate a truce that leaves your own people in this state. It shows what a priority they are?

It's just more proof to me of the evil of Hamas.

Utterly awful

And I've just noticed on this photo the hospital building at the back has no roof - perhaps they needed to go outside for safetys sake

Parkingt111 · 26/11/2023 17:50

This was on Friday inside the hospital
This is the state the patients who couldn't leave were eventually left in whilst the IDF forcefully took over the hospital

stormy4319trevor · 26/11/2023 17:52

Dear God, that's horrendous. I thought it had been evacuated, have not been checking for updates.

Parkingt111 · 26/11/2023 17:52

@Stomacharmeleon but we don't know that
The truce had been negotiated for a long time with lots of back and forth
We don't know what was requested and what was accepted
The IDF took control of the hospital and everyone who was able to had to flee
I blame this on the IDF
How moral are they? That they went about looking for tunnels and left patients like this behind.

Readingallnight · 26/11/2023 17:55

There are no updates on these patients at all.
Plenty about Netanyahu arriving in Gaza, nothing about the patients in the streets.
Think the news needs to get their priories straight

@Stomacharmeleon do you know how many hospitals and ambulances and health care services they have destroyed
So much of the north is now just rubble
Biden said lessons to be learnt
Really?? This is just a lesson to be learnt. They have destroyed whole areas
I have looked at images coming out after the truce when people were able to go out and look and forget one earthquake it looks like some places have had multiple earthquakes over days. When Israeli politicians said we will raze Gaza to the ground it clearly was not just a figure of speech

Parkingt111 · 26/11/2023 17:58

Maybe time to for me to come off mumsnet for the rest of the evening after what I have just seen

Well said @Parkingt111
It has been noted the devastation is the equivalent of two nuclear bombs

https://www.who.int/news/item/24-11-2023-joint-un-mission-transfers-critical-patients-from-al-shifa-hospital-in-gaza--under-intense-fighting

WHO is extremely concerned about the safety of the estimated 100 patients and health workers remaining at Al-Shifa. Due to the limited time that the mission members were able to spend in the hospital and the urgency of moving the most critical, it was difficult to determine exactly how many remain.

Two of the six detained health workers have reportedly been released. We do not have information about the well-being of the four remaining health staff, including the director of Al-Shifa hospital. WHO calls for their legal and human rights to be fully observed during their detention.

This and other evacuations were requested by health authorities, health workers and patients, and became necessary as Al-Shifa Hospital is no longer able to function due to lack of water, fuel, medical supplies, food, and staff, and recent military incursions.

Joint UN mission transfers critical patients from Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza, under intense fighting

On 22 November, in cooperation with the Palestine Red Crescent Society, WHO participated in another joint-UN mission to transfer 151 patients, relatives and health workers accompanying them from Al-Shifa hospital in northern Gaza.
