Is 300 trucks enough, though? I suppose, again, better than nothing. I was trying to imagine surviving on 3L of water today - it must be hell. Not even clean, safe water either.

That’s all that has been agreed. It is supposed to include fuel, medicine and food.

It’s better than nothing, but no apparently not anywhere near enough.

stormy4319trevor · 23/11/2023 19:27

@Stomacharmeleon Not likely. Top people will be protected, foot soldiers will fight to the death. Still not the fault of child orphans, since you mentioned them, though.

I looked at the Daily Mail article and their photographs and it even said the underground kitchen and bathroom space with two cots they found was disused. You can see the space is small. It does not seem to show a power base centre of command.

Yes the headline was very sensationalist to draw the readers in.

Fairtobefairohhhhhc · 23/11/2023 19:54

@ScrollingLeaves exactly.

The terror complexs originally built by the IDF as confirmed by the ex Isralei PM. Not sure if that's on mainstream media

Daily mail always use shocking headlines to try and get people to read it.

Stomacharmeleon · 23/11/2023 19:54

@Parker231 then why argue about disparity?

Stomacharmeleon · 23/11/2023 19:54

@Parker231 then why argue about disparity?

The clue is in @Parker231 previous post.
Everyone should be treated equally.

Seems obvious therefore that @Parker231 would question the disparity

OP posts:
Stomacharmeleon · 23/11/2023 20:42

@Readingallnight are you one and the same?

If everyone should be treated equally then I see no reason why a hostage shouldn't be traded for a prisoner.

Thekirit · 23/11/2023 20:45

Thankful the release of hostages starts tomorrow morning.
Presumably the handover / exchange will be through Red Cross.

Trulywonderfulworld · 23/11/2023 20:48

Its the first sign of light at the end of the tunnel including the much needed aid being sent in.

Lets hope no one is given any excuse for it not to take place, including further releases

I believe 13 will be released by Hamas tomorrow, I have no idea how many Israel are releasing….37/38 I suppose ie same principle of a quarter.

Thekirit · 23/11/2023 20:54

Any idea if those being released are out of the 3000 in administrative detention in Israel.
( ie not charged, no idea why they are there and nothing is happening in terms of their legal position. )
?

I suppose it depends what the ‘ prisoners’ are? ie. Have they just been rounded up, detained for throwing stones, suspected of something but never charged. ? Th

Lots of Palestinian workers in Israel were rounded up after October 7th…..could it be these people who will be released.

Assuming it will be women and children.

No I’m not ‘one and the same’ , worried not everyone agrees with you .

Update on the dire situation inside al-Shifa hospital

Ahmed El Mokhallalat
i@AMokhallalati

The situation at Al Shifa hospital is very difficult. Currently, there are around 150 patients, and only two doctors to treat them. One nurse and 3 volunteers

For 11 days, we lacked water, food, and medical supplies, except for two instances when the Israeli occupation army brought sandwiches and water, which fed less than half of the people in the hospital.

Every day, patients die due to Israeli occupation forces occupying the hospital.

My health situation is very bad; my body is tired.

I and my colleagues we are unable to continue providing treatment to patients. #GazaCrisis #HumanitarianEmergency

Readingallnight · 23/11/2023 21:04

@Thekirit.
A list of 300 potential Palestinians ( I’m assuming they are all Palestinian ) was issued yesterday by Israel for consideration by Israelis.
No idea if they are the ones in administrative detention, but most of those are men…..so highly unlikely that they will be released.
No chance of releasing young men as they could be potential fighters….whether they guilty of anything or not.

Israel have plenty women and children in detention to fill the quota first anyway

@Readingallnight wondered why you answered for someone else? That's odd.

The Gazan's who worked in Israel have been deported already. www.theguardian.com/world/2023/nov/03/israel-deports-thousands-of-stranded-palestinian-workers-back-to-gaza

Hopefully aid, as part of the 300 trucks, will get to them tomorrow !

@Efacsen that's terrible
I didn't even know there was still patients inside Al shifa hospital I thought it had been fully evacuated

@Stomacharmeleon and @Parker231

They have gone away
The answer was obvious as they had already mentioned it.
Thought I’d state the obvious, since you missed it…..

OP posts:
Parkingt111 · 23/11/2023 21:10

That's outrageous
As Israeli occupation forces are currently in the hospital then this should not be happening
That's inhumane treatment of civilians who are patients there

Efacsen · 23/11/2023 21:17

@Parkingt111 it wasn't clear this morning how many were left after the big evacuation south yesterday - but didn't really expect it to be so many

It's like @Motorina was saying a couple of days ago about the 'dying rooms' for soldiers who couldn't be treated in the Napoleonic Wars

It's totally unforgivable that it's happening in 2023

I hope someone/some agency sees his tweet and can provide some help of some kind

Readingallnight · 23/11/2023 21:24

I am shocked too at the numbers.
I read a small number of critically Ill were left as they couldn’t be moved, basically left to die through lack of food, medication, oxygen etc

The IDF have also refused to pull out of Al Shifa during the pause in fighting.
Interesting article from Jerusalem post attached
Apparently the hostage deal is up for permanent negotiation….so nothing is guaranteed

@Readingallnight I guess it's theirs now and they won't want to give anything up no matter how small - they fought hard for it

Wouldn’t be surprised though.
Could be difficult for Hamas to release hostages if the IDF are around.
The IDF must be completely in the wrong area if they can get then out without blowing their cover

Although if the flag pic is real it shows Netanyahus map from the UN meeting Sept 2023 is being acted out.
It was always the plan.
Wipe Palestine off the map.

@Efacsen bbc news is reporting that the IDF are saying the director of Al shifa hospital was taken away for questioning not because they believe he is part of Hamas

But it's still extremely worrying for his safety.
Also they were with him for many days inside Al shifa hospital so why not question him then?

Why stop him and the other ambulances when they are evacuating to the south for hours and then detain him
That doesn't make sense
