Have no problem finding somewhere else to go.

It’s a disgrace. Beyond that. There is no justification for this. This isn’t defence. This is revenge. No reasonable and sane person would support what Israel are doing. I don’t support Israel. Our governments are a disgrace also for not standing up and saying stop. This is not difficult. Have some respect for human life and some morals. I don’t care whether this makes them seem weak in the eyes of Russia or the east. That is all complexities in your feeble man brains. This is simple. They are slaughtering a whole population indiscriminately. Isreal is too traumatised to be rational. The world needs to step in.

Just seen the latest update from BBC on Al shifa hospital. For the first time since the start of the war I can see this last update as very sceptic of the IDF's actions in the hospital. Even the BBC aren't buying the Israeli fake narrative anymore.
Before this it had always seemed neutral or pro Israel

Arafina · 15/11/2023 11:35

This is the most unashamed and disgusting land grab in history, nothing more nothing less and worryingly they'll more than likely get away with it, and in their opinion the more Palestinians they wipe out in the process the better, it's horrific

Eyewitness says IDF orders men in Al-Shifa to assemble in courtyard

Reporting from Gaza

I've spoken to Khader again, a journalist inside Al-Shifa hospital.

He told me that over loudspeakers, IDF soldiers have asked all men between the ages of 16 and 40 to leave the hospital buildings, except the surgical and emergency departments, and go to the hospital courtyard.

During the past hour, he said soldiers had fired into the air to force those remaining inside to come out.

He also said they have installed a scanning and sensing device and asked the men to pass through it.

Israel was formed a lifetime ago, and primarily the people moving there were escaping anti semetic views which is clearly still a huge issue. That's equivalent to saying the USA and Australia was formed 5 minutes ago and they can all find somewhere to go and give the land to the native Americans and Australians.

Parkingt111 · 15/11/2023 11:41

So they have done this huge PR stunt to show the world they care about the babies by saying they will bring incubators to Al shifa hospital but at the same time will not allow any fuel in to the hospital to run them?

From sky
The delivery has been allowed to go ahead after Israel gave its approval for 24,000 litres (6,340 gallons) of fuel to be allowed into Gaza for use by UN aid distribution trucks, a humanitarian source said.
But, the fuel is not allowed to be used at hospitals, they added.

They really like stripping people to underwear - saw this on news footage of people trying to head south. Isn't this torture?

I suspect the IDF will claim it's to ensure that the men aren't armed but we all know it's about humiliation and control.

stormy4319trevor · 15/11/2023 11:50

@FOJN Yes, and for a culture that values modesty it's a special humiliation, although it's degrading to anyone. It's plainly unnecessary to leave people in the road in their underwear, hands tied and blindfolded. Just horrific sadism.

I am confused by people's anxiety about what is going on at the hospital.

It's called compassion for innocent babies, women, children, medics, men, you should try it sometime.

The trouble is that Israel's targeted operations have already killed thousands of civilians and around 5000 children. This suggests that there will be casualties from this operation too. There is ample evidence to suggest that IDF are neither kind nor cautious in their dealings with the civilians - and there are sick people, children and babies gasping for breath as the IDF fire shots around them and take people out for interrogation. I don't know if you have children, but can you imagine how traumatic this is for sick children, who have had no access to sufficient food, water or medical care for days now? Do you reckon the premature babies are going to make it through this? There should not be fighting at a hospital.

greatsatsuma · 15/11/2023 12:08

I'll let the UN Humanitarian chief try to explain it for you. Does this help enlighten you?

The UN humanitarian chief, Martin Griffiths, has issued a further statement about hospitals in Gaza, after Israel launched what it called a “targeted operation” against al-Shifa hospital, the largest in Gaza.

In a video statement, AFP reports Griffiths said:

Hamas must not, should not, use a place like a hospital as a shield for their presence That is as strong a statement under humanitarian law, as is the statement that the hospitals should not become a war zone.

I understand the Israelis’ concern for trying to find the leadership of Hamas. That’s not our problem. Our problem is protecting the people of Gaza from what’s being visited upon them.Griffiths added that his agency’s main concern was “for the welfare of the patients of that hospital, which is, of course, in great peril at the moment”.

“We have no fuel to run it. The babies have no incubators, newly born. Some are dead already. We can’t move them out. It’s too dangerous,” he said.
“Our concern is for the patients of a hospital that doesn’t function.

@Rammer maybe you missed this update

A doctor inside the hospital, Ahmed el Mokhallalati, told Reuters gunfire outside the compound has forced staff to hide from the windows.
"Bombardment. Shooting around the hospital and within the hospital. It's really horrible... And then we realised that the tanks are moving around the hospital," he said.
"They just parked in front of the hospital emergency department. All kinds of weapons were used. They targeted the hospital directly. We try to avoid being near the windows."

Also a very good point if the IDF are in the hospital so why haven't they allowed fuel In to run the incubators to prevent the deaths of the ill babies? Surely whilst inside the hospital they can oversee this so why haven't they done it yet?

I mean who cares about the people who die because they can't get any medical attention while they are doing this.

And what makes ypu think they will leave the hospital alone even if they find nothing?

And it's not hard to ' find evidence '.

Edited

It's the same old same old isn't it?

The Israeli government/IDF put out a statement to grab a headline which makes them look humanitarian but leaves out the crucial details which expose the empty gesture.

They did the same when they claimed Al Shifa had refused fuel.

I believe they entered Al Shifa 11 hours ago and despite tearing the place apart they don't seem to have found either hostages or terrorists. I imagine the staging for Daniel Hagari's next "presentation if evidence" must be really elaborate. I guess if you have had a hospital under siege for days you are going to have to offer up something big to justify all the dead bodies.

I'm slightly mystified by them sending soldiers in if it really is a Hamas base of operations. We're repeatedly told Hamas don't care about civilian casualties (not hard to believe) so why wouldn't Hamas detonate the hospital once it was full of IDF?

I don't think the IDF believe Hamas are there but it will be impossible for the people displaced to return if there is no infrastructure.

Nah, they obviously think that EVERYONE is Hamas!

Glory to our heroes in the IDF as they bravely battle that scariest of all enemies, a fucking hospital!

I pray and hope they manage to overcome that elite of elites of enemy strike forces, comatose patients in the ICU. Everyone and their granmother knows that the comatose are dangerous beyond belief - second only to the mother of all horrors: newborn kittens!

I hope they prevail over the terrifying guerilla force known as "doctors and nurses", too!

</sarcasm>

I dont do YouTube but whilst looking for information last night picked up on a thread after the IDF went into the hospital.
The comments below, the cheers and ‘get in there’ comments were disgusting.
Several people said
” everyone in Palestine is Hamas” everyone deserves what they get.
louds of thumbs up for those disgusting bigoted comments.

So yes, they do think everyone is Hamas.

@Rammer I think a more civilised approach would have been to allow an international committee with the UN to inspect the hospital for evidence of this tunnel and command system. No shooting required. But Israel went ahead and attacked the hospital instead.

feralunderclass · 15/11/2023 09:23

The White House has said it does not support the targeting of hospitals.

But continues to arm Israel.
With 66% of the US population calling for a ceasefire Biden will say anything then do completely the opposite.
