I do not owe patience to people posting the same thing repeatedly.

You are obliged not to make PA's though. Lots of posters are repeating themselves on this board, constantly. Just ignore the ones you don't want to hear, scroll past the name.

I don't recall soliciting advice from you about how to conduct myself on a discussion forum so please don't offer it or think it is welcome.

You could also scroll past posts you don't like so you'll forgive me if I don't take your advice seriously.

@Iwantcakeeveryday @FOJN did not repeatedly call someone ignorant. She commented that if material research has not been done, there is ignorance of the subject on display. Reminds me of one of my old lecturers at Uni, who criticised sharply but was an incredible teacher. You could take offence, but that would be silly if you want to develop critical thinking. We can all learn!

lets not be silly...

Perhaps you could read the news rather than putting your ignorance of full display here.

This is calling someone ignorant.

People may see and read the same things and come to different conclusions, in fact its happening all the time! A lot of what people are seeing and reading is on social media, which some people don't spend a lot of time on.

Can you say how badly the Israeli government has been behaving and how much horror they have caused and leave it at that?

For me - and I understand this is a very emotively charged issue - I cannot see anything that happens to Israel without a BUT. When you've gone in naive and 'it's complicated' and then witnessed the horrific human rights abuses that are so blatant and purposeful, I can't not look at any revenge/terror attacks outside of that context. It's like when you see something bad that has happened to your childhood bully on Facebook, you never see it as an isolated event, it's always under the lens of the abuse you suffered.

Well now the post has been deleted you can conveniently claim I said things I didn't.

I do believe you didn't report it.

A journalist who spoke to Aljazeera from the perimeter of Al Shifa says he has been told by the IDF to evacuate his house.

“I have received several phone calls from the Israeli army asking me to evacuate the house I live in after my interview with Al Jazeera. Israeli air raids targeted the building I was in yesterday. Soldiers are inside al-Azhar University in Gaza City. We have contacted the Red Cross many times, but they said it is not possible to reach us.”

stormy4319trevor · 15/11/2023 13:37

@FOJN So little journalism coming out of Gaza now. I hope he stays safe.

Parkingt111 · 15/11/2023 13:37

@FOJN that's terrible
The deliberate attacks on journalists have to stop

Yes it seems he lives opposite the hospital and he has been reporting quite regularly on what’s going on at al Shifa.
After his reports he was asked to leave.

There is also a doctor in the hospital who is in contact with the news agency. I’m concerned for his welfare if Israel are targeting all reports.

The few remaining functioning hospitals are also having severe bombing around it. Women who couldn't escape to the south are having to give birth whilst hearing huge explosions with the fear the hospital could be struck. Al awda is the only remaining functioning hospital in the North

Guardian
Ahmed Muhanna, director at al-Awda hospital in Jabalia
"All the time they are bombing around the hospital and close to the hospital. Today, we have found shrapnel inside the hospital, and the ambulance and cars were damaged. We are working with injured and pregnant women from the northern areas and Gaza City because all the hospitals in Gaza City and the northern area also are out of service."

I find your phrasing very interesting as it's so different to the way I phrased it. And you know full well what you are doing and I find your phrasing quite manipulative compared to what I said, it is deliberately leading.

Readingallnight · 15/11/2023 13:49

There are 220 men detained in the courtyard outside the al Shifa hospital
Everyone has been told to assemble outside to evacuate.
Then, will they move in the bulldozers….I mean…what are they doing there?!

@Readingallnight what an absolutely desperate situation. I have to wonder what the IDF servicemen feel about what they are doing to the Palestinian civilians. Do they realise how wrong it is? Do they feel any guilt at all at their war crimes?

Readingallnight · 15/11/2023 13:55

Meanwhile.
Israel initially claimed in order to justify access to al- Shifa hospital that they were targeting specific areas in the hospital. These specific areas they had garnered intelligence on re Hamas.

A few hours ago they said they are widening their search. Why do they need to if they, apparently, know where to look.

Now they want everyone out.

With no independent verification of what’s going on, we are blind now.

The things is I deliberately used the same phrasing to condemn both. I am not elevating one above another because its tantamount to saying they don't really matter because of...

You aren't going to get a decent discussion going while you refuse to acknowledge what people are actually saying.

I’d really like to think they do.
We can’t assume everyone is the same just because of the country they come from.
