Are we really just going to just let this happen. I was upset about the protest ban in France but at least he has finally spoken up. When is the UK going to finally say something and stop letting this happen in our name.

This is the moment we have been warning the whole world the Gaza Deputy Health Minister Dr. Youssef Abu Alreesh, currently inside al-Shifa Hospital as it is takes heavy fire from Israeli forces.
Here are his translated comments:

• This is the moment we have been warning the whole world of, all generators are off, all power sources are out.
• We have 39 newborns in the incubators, those babies are fighting against death.
• No one is able to move around the compound, snipers are stationed all over the place in addition to the drones that target and kill any moving person.
• A few minutes ago one of the engineering team was hit by a sniper, he was hit in the neck and was paralysed and he’s now about to die.
• Part of the hospital was shelled and part of the building caught fire, we fear it will engulf the whole compound.
• A few families tried to leave but they were targeted; now they are lying dead outside the hospital. We cannot get to them.
• We are totally stranded, we are cut off from the outside world, and above all, we are left without any medical resources. We cannot even bury the dead.
• Ferocious gunfire can be heard within the vicinity of the hospital, the intensive care unit received a mortar shell a few minutes ago.
• Blood is everywhere, on the floor, we cannot even clean it.
• In the past, the Israeli killing machine was killing and this was conveyed on TV screens. Now they are perpetrating the same killing but no one is listening, no one is watching, the whole world is standing by.
• We are speaking with whatever is left of my phone battery, after that, we will be silent.

@feralunderclass I get all that. But we need to think what next? Not what happened 75 years ago and there are many people/ countries/ issues who we can point the finger at.

What can we do next should be what we are talking about? We can go back and forth with who is in the wrong but it doesn't solve anything.

When did "all staff" say they have always known that? Many foreign doctors, aid agencies and NGOs involved IN the hospital have maintained they have never seen Hamas activity. Dr Mads Gilbert said today he's so sick of this claim. Israeli snipers are shooting into the intensive care unit through the windows. A nurse trying to tend to the babies was shot dead. Where are Hamas?

You say not to believe Hamas, meanwhile you listen to the Israeli government, a far-right loony bin with ministers who have terrorism charges.

If you discount information given by both, and look at the evidence from independent third parties, the truth of what is happening in Gaza is glaringly obvious.

There are plenty of independent doctors who are working in Gaza who have said the truth. There are also independent humanitarian workers who have said the truth.

@OneHurtSpaggettio babies have died both sides and it's horrific. Please don't belittle the deaths on 7/10 as you did before though. There was evidence of rape and children murdered. Don't pass the buck. People were in bed asleep and brutalised. Peace loving people.

It is true they all do deserve compassion and to live in peace.

Unfortunately the current approach of the Israeli government founded in anger and desperation will result in the cycle of violence repeating. It may not be called Hamas anymore but the anger this will feed will result in more atrocities. The inhumane actions are being played across millions of screens across the world. Destroying Israel’s chance of ever living in peace without fear of retribution.

@feralunderclass it didn't really say that did it? It said that Israel may not have done the investigation work eg rape kits on bodies before they were released to be buried. Many of the bodies were burnt beyond recognition.

Do all the people talking about occupied territories know why they’re occupied? That, not even 20 years after it was formed, when Israel had a prime minister who was only interested in peace, the Arab countries surrounding Israel created an alliance and planned a war to wipe out Israel. That they ordered the UN peace keepers to leave the border so they could attack Israel. That they refused Israel access to essential waterways. That America said it wouldn’t help Israel regain access to essential waterways. Israel, after defeating the Arab alliance, offered to return nearly all the territory it had acquired during the war in return for peace and it was refused. Those countries reiterated their intention to destroy Israel. They attacked again 5 years later.

It’s not a coincidence that Hamas launched its attack on Israel when Saudi Arabia were due to have talks with America about finally recognising Israel.

Israel is fighting for its right to exist. It is ridiculous to compare the situation in the Middle East with that in Northern Ireland.

Do you know that Israel made similar loud and persistent claims that the hospital was Hamas HQ in 2014 - they were allowed to tour the whole hospital complex including the basement levels

I’m really not clear how much does UK benefit that it is so intent on getting behind Israel’s massacre irrespective that it might cost elections.

The US data in pro-Israel lobbying and other supporting commercial factors is much more open. How much does UK really gain from Israel’s alliance that it is standing up to all the people speaking up against Israel now. The protest today was massive. How is it worth it?

The point is it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter if Hamas is under the hospital. You cannot kill patients, doctors, civilians because you think something is under the hospital. It is against the rules of war and just plain wrong by any standards. The means just do not justify the cause even if you believe it to be true.

The IDF are currently fighting street to street in order to evacuate hospitals, they have already evacuated two, with the one mentioned on here hopefully being done tomorrow . This is from the BBC.
There is fake stuff out there on both sides but google Pallywood or Mr Fafo and there are dozens if not hundreds of ridiculous videos supposedly showing dead and injured Gazans, so obviously fake it’s laughable.

Shooting PRESS, nurses attending babies in a hospital ward and firing in through the windows of an intensive care unit is not "fighting for the right to exist". Displacing 1.5million people, depriving them of food, water and medication is not "fighting for the right to exist". Depriving 10,000 cancer patients of treatment is not "fighting for the right to exist".

I do have compassion for them, which I have stated many, many times before. What happened on the 7th October is beyond comprehension.

I am angry for the hostages being kept by Hamas, who should release them, and I am angry that they are being bombed by their own government.

However, people have come on here, a thread about babies dying in their incubators, and are trying to say that what happened on the 7th October means that we should accept the utter evil that the IDF and Israeli government are unleashing on Gaza.

It is inexcusable. It is equally incomprehensible.

They have been killing doctors, nurses and now a little NICU baby has died.

I am incandescent that there are posters on here still trying to justify, downplay and outright deny what is happening, when the very symbol of our most vulnerable life - a baby in an incubator - is being left to die.

There are 39 more tiny lives hanging in the balance.

"There are 39 infants now in the neonatal intensive care unit, one of them died moments ago and the rest are fighting death," Dr Mohammad Zaqout said.

"There are also 40 wounded in the intensive care unit, we lost one of them in the first hour of power outage.

"No one can enter or leave the Shifa hospital, therefore the injured people outside the hospital won't find a place to be treated in."

This is heinous. How can you question there are dead civilians in Gaza. Unless you are wondering if Israel is lying also that they are bombing Gaza and 2.2m people live there.
