How effective is Israeli bombing, anyway?

According to Hamas figures, Israel has dropped 12,000 tonnes of explosives on Gaza. 6000 people have died.

Hamas terrorists killed 1400 Jews with just what they could carry on trucks and motorbikes.

It almost looks like Israel is trying to minimize casualties, doesn't it?

6000 people dead so far in Gaza. And Oxfam says they are essentially being starved to death -not Hamas reporting this - Oxfam. It's appalling. The Palestinians are victims of Hamas and are being punished by Israel.

The pp who said that Hamas keep getting voted in - the last election was in 2006. Gaza is made up of 50% children due to the low life expectancy there, so half the population weren't even born when Hamas came to power. And we don't know how many adults who are still alive there voted for Hamas.

And in recent days the Israeli government have made it very clear that they see all Gazans as legitimate targets:

Meanwhile how the hell did Israeli intelligence not have any idea about Hamas' plans? There are victims of the Israeli government on both sides of this conflict, just as there are victims of Hamas on both sides. This is all about two groups of men not giving a shit about humanity for their own cause.

Nothing I have said justifies deaths. I am just answering the op's first post. The deaths are currently nothing compared to a what the ground invasion will be if it happens. So far we only have Hamas death figures to go on. We know nothing for sure until the final death count has been made by a more neutral party that isn't Hamas. Plus actually what I should have added and people fail to get is the number of people injured on both sides with bombings means eventually more deaths will be noticed. Seriously you have either no idea how to read a post or replied to the wrong post. Your reply has sod all to do with what I wrote. Hamas have been saying 6000. Oxfam are saying 4000. The truth is nobody knows yet and even Oxfam can only go on the numbers coming in to them. However the numbers will be going up daily that is all people can be sure about.

I don't understand why people are willing to believe Hamas though. It amazing some of the stuff they have said so far, like they didn't take any hostages. Then they did take hostages. That they didn't hurt civilians, despite their own men live streaming them torturing, raping and killing civilians. However of course we believe there own death count and whatever else they say know 🤔

There are 12000 Palestinians in Israel's hostage(prison) currently. Read about Ahmed Manasir a 13 year old boy who has been tortured for year and now at 22 years of age suffers from blindness and schizophrenia in Israel's prison.

200,000 Israelis have been displaced from their homes, from around Gaza, and the northern border region, but yes, life is definitely much better in Israel at the moment than in Gaza.

Again - this is a war, not a sporting competition. The rules don't say that both sides have to suffer equally.

Additionally, the IDF tweeted themselvesthat they hit the hospital literally minutes after it was hit. Then that tweet got deleted.

That tweet was actually from this guy below who is a self-confessed media personality. He used to be on Netanyahu's comms team but is not an official anything as far as I can tell. The government's official press spokesman is Eylon Levy and the IDF spokesman is Peter Lerner.

Nor me. I can understand people not necessarily believing the IDF without verification but Hamas are terrorists ffs and lie constantly. Why would they be more likely to be honest? Yet some people automatically believe what they say. It would be laughable if the whole thing wasn't so bloody awful.

6000 is a low estimate. Think of all the people who have died under the rubble of the thousands of buildings and homes flattened. They are uncounted.

Israel has now bombed the refugee camp in the south after telling citizens to head there. So yes rounding up women and children into a camp and then bombing them will be quite effective at killing even more.

There isn’t really a way right now to count deaths accurately.

Hamas operates mostly underground so the flattening of Gaza isn’t really about Hamas, it’s about getting rid of Palestine and the people in it.

Targeting hospitals and children has a greater value for Israel in terms of terror. It also enables them to claim that they didn't carry out genocide, merely that the population 'left'.

Actually @Sugaristheenemy prior to 7 October approval ratings for the (very right wing) government were low, and the prime minister was scrabbling around for parliamentary partners to shore him up. I'm a Jew, my family are in Israel, my friends are in Israel, and their families... hundreds of people and lots of shared discussions, access to media viewpoints etc. Not a one would say that "anything short of a genocide is a kindness". What a terrible thing to ascribe. Please don't mix ordinary people up with their gov't.

There is no evidence of such acts on the Israeli side by Palestinians. Israel is already using illegal phosphorus bombs. Israel are already illegally occupying land that isn’t theirs. Israel is not the victim they are the occupying state
