This one is just a kid, seriously we are going to see more kids getting sucked into all this and doing stuff that could damage their future:

A 16-year-old youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, who faces a public order offence (Section 5 Public Order Act) for alleged verbal abuse directed at police escorting the protesters.

He will appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, November 15.

At the pro Palestine rally on 20th October at Bristol university, The Socialist Workers Student Society were reportedly circulating illegal pamphlets endorsing the actions of Hamas, with the latest distribution happening on Tuesday.

The vice chancellor addressed this circulation of “unacceptable material, supportive of Hamas” around campus.

Not Jewish. I stand with Israel.

So you’re happy with the genocide of the whole of Gaza and the illegal occupation of West Bank and the illegal settlers still killing innocent civilians

No Coughing - not disgusting derailing. I am merely pointing out that you are an anti-Semite. It is interesting that I have written nothing about my attitude to the deaths in Gaza.

More on the pro paletine airport incident:

The authorities closed the airport and it will stay closed until Tuesday, Rosaviatsia says.

Sixty alleged mob participants have been arrested, Russian news agencies say, citing the local interior ministry.

Video clips showed hundreds of people storming the airport terminal, with some waving Palestinian flags.

Many in the crowd shouted antisemitic slogans while others chanted "Allahu Akbar" - God is greatest.

Local media reported that some demonstrators were stopping cars outside Makhachkala's airport demanding to see documents, in a chaotic search for Israeli passports.

Twenty people were injured, including some police officers, the republic's health ministry said. Some have serious injuries and two are in critical condition.

And to add:

"Reports of anti-Jewish acts were not confined to Makhachkala. In Nalchik, another city in the neighbouring Kabardino-Balkaria region, a planned Jewish centre was set on fire earlier on Sunday. Earlier on Sunday, protesters also besieged a hotel in the Dagestani city of Khasavyurt, searching rooms for “Jewish refugees”.

Trulywonderful · 30/10/2023 09:18

An earlier incident at a hotel happened in the same Russia the day before too. This highlights the fact that if police had stepped dealt with things properly the day before people at the airport would not be in hospital now also how kind of hate can escalate fast if allowed:

On Saturday, a crowd in the city of Khasavyurt in Dagestan gathered outside a hotel where they believed some Israelis were staying.

The protestors threw stones at the windows and a sign was put on the door that read: "Entrance strictly forbidden to citizens of Israel…(Jews)."

Later police reportedly let some into the hotel so they could see for themselves that no Israelis were there.

This is horrific and I’m sorry to hear.

One thing that strikes me is that Russia seems to be a place with a lot of overt physical brutality relative to many other countries. We’ve had Ukrainian guests who have said it’s part of the culture (in parts of Ukraine too).

On MN I have read that many American and European Jews who move to Israel return to Europe and the US after a few years because they feel it’s more home for them. But Jews who move there from Russia (and the ME) stay because they’ll be persecuted in their previous homes.

So would it be accurate to say that Israel has a large Russian demographic? Does this brutal Russian culture influence the way Israel’s government is behaving right now in Gaza? While thousands of American Jews close down Grand Central Station in protest?

This might sound like a goady question but I promise you it’s not. I’d be genuinely interested in an informed response if any of you know.

Trulywonderful · 30/10/2023 09:38

A Jewish centre in the republic of Kabardino-Balkaria was set on fire over the weekend.

We are set to see more of this around the world and gradually getting worse

If Britain does not start policing protests properly and dealing with the worst Jew hate offenders both there and other places then things will spiral in Britain too.

This goes for the knock of a rise in Islamophobia and anti immigrate feelings that will rise in some groups of general public. From hearing about the conflict and seeing behaviour at these protests as well as their own previous bias. These can and do end up translating into violence eventually

There is a big Russian population. However the Iraq Jewish population is bigger and they have more of an influence on feelings. After fleeing ethic cleansing in which their were many pogroms resulting in massive deaths in Iraq many generations are not willing to see the same thing happen to them again.

Not sure why you want to talk about Israel when this thread is about Jew hate outside of Israel and calling it out. Also the need to stop hate crimes in general before they end up with excavating violences.

As places like France has been seeing rising hate crimes, violent protests, attacks on police and stabbings at a school. I think we can be certain this problem isn't isolated to Russians. In fact it isn't particularly nice of you to label Russians violent, most are definitely not.

Well my Ukrainian friends - who aren’t violent themselves, so obviously no, it’s not everyone - don’t want to return to East Ukraine.

And the Israeli government is pretty brutal so I was wondering if it was a cultural thing rather than religious.

No middle eastern state wants to show weakness to their neighbours. That plays a big part of this. History of conflicts in the middle east has a lot to do with the conflict now. Israel despite what the west thinks is very much a middle eastern state and thinks like one if feels under attack. If you look at deaths in the middle east more Muslims have died from being killed by other Muslims than Jews. However because of the Jew hate and dhimmi thing a lot of Muslims chose to ignore this. Not relevant to the current Gaza deaths but it is to the narrative as a whole.

Sorry but if you want to talk about this then feel free to start a thread on it. I don't want to derail this one to much, ta.

Wow. This is straight out of the playbook

First of all, call it lies.

Then, when it becomes clear that it's true, blame an antisemitic lynch mob hunting down and nearly killing Jews on... Jews.

But of course. It's always our own fault, really, isn't it?

Not much has changed since medieval peasants were throwing Jews down wells.

Yesterday you said you weren't interested in Jews and didn't care about antisemitism because 7 billion people in the world aren't Jews.

Yet here you are still posting about us 24 hours later. No one would mind if you stopped posting, you know.

Xenia · 30/10/2023 11:19

Also lots of us who support Israel do NOT call those complaining about Israel reacting to the invasion anti-semitic (although some people are of course, sadly).

Xenia · 30/10/2023 11:20

The marches in London are difficult for everyone. If we had 100,000 jews marching in London with some chanting for a war against muslims or that they wanted Israel to cast out all Palestinians to the full borders I wonder if the police would be so restrained?

Ginlette · 30/10/2023 11:25

I have read that the first pro Palestine rallies actually occured straight after the attack on the festival goers, before Israel had retaliated. In fact some gathered in front of the Israeli embassy on October 9th.

What are we to make of that?

That is correct. In London and around the world protesters waved flags, set of fire works and sang within hours of the 7th October pogrom starting. Whilst even more people took to social media calling it a joyful event, saying how wonderful Hamas were and various other sickening things.

Sweets were also being handed out in places here and around the world. A gesture that happens in Gaza after an Israeli is killed. Hamas and supporters hand out sweets to the citizens to celebrate. The fact that anyone in Britain things this is ok to do here is frankly alarming to most people, not only Jews.

A member of the Jewish chaplaincy service in higher education (University) has said that:

Jewish students are having Palestinian flags draped over their cars

Doors knocked on of the Jewish chaplain, with people saying "We know where you live".

I have seen that they have found the remains of shani luk after she was thought to be in hospital in Gaza. For me if I need reminding why Hamas need removing it's the images of her naked and defiled body on the back of that jeep. Just a young girl at a music festival.

I Stand by Israel.

Trulywonderful · 30/10/2023 13:37

Horrific to think what the poor girl went through. We all saw those images of her getting paraded naked through the streets on a truck whilst people spat at her. My mind doesn't even want to go there about what else she experienced. All this whilst hateful idiots in the west had victory protests, set of fireworks and celebrated with glee.

She won't be forgotten or be alone again. We will never forget her life being lost and how. May her memory be blessed 🌺

And it's the image of small dead babies wrapped in red bloody cloth, parents holding their dead children and begging to be buried with them, pieces of flesh being collected and carried away in bags, the lost terrified look on small innocent faces who have lost everything, people standing over rubble that was once their home/livelihood, doctors operating on the injured with flashlights, the sounds of terrified screams and cries in complete darkness, scared hungry people running from one place to another to stay safe and still being killed is what reminds of why the Israeli government is a terrorist organisation in power who are committing genocide in real time under the guise of finding Hamas and are effectively wiping out the Palestinian population because that's what they really want.

I stand with Palestine.
