You’re still not answering the question: how is it going? Has the Palestinian strategy brought them what they hoped, 75 years ago?

Oh bore off* *

That’s interesting, but it still doesn’t answer the question.

even if you think Israel behaves like a narcissistic psychopath, how’s it going for the Palestinians?

This is bizarre. What do you want people to say to this? Yes the terrorist state of Israel is attempting to wipe out the Palestinains, its going really well for them. They are killing lots of women and children. As an Israeli politician was so open, with they believe the 'Gazan children brought it upon themselves' and so they are setting out to kill them. Its going shit for the Palestinians. 1000s are dying at the hands of a blood thirsty Israel who have always believed themselves superior. They teach their children that Arabs are 'primitive, vile and criminal' and now those children are all grown up and committing mass murder of the people they have been taught to despise.
Seems Israels plan is going great. Lock em up, teach your kids to despise them, then they won't blink when they are sent to kill them all.

After 75 years of statehood, Israel had a gross domestic in 2021 product of 485 billion dollars, 13th highest in the world per capita.

the Palestinians have nothing to show for 75 years of struggle. Nothing.

why do you imagine that is?

Parkingt111 · 22/10/2023 14:29

@mushti
I just want to mention something that a lot of people might not know. Not only is Gaza one of the most densely populated areas on earth, it is also one of the most highly educated populations on earth. I think there are more advanced degrees per capita in Gaza than any major city in the West. The Palestinians are a rich treasure of skills, knowledge, innovation, inventiveness, resourcefulness, and sheer brilliance. that has been trapped and locked out for decades, and is now being decimated. The whole world has been deprived of their collective genius, and we will never know what their contribution would have been to any number of fields, sectors, and industries, had they been allowed to participate.

Parkingt111 · 22/10/2023 14:30

@mushti seeing as you are hell bent on being rude and arrogant
Go check out the literacy rates of Gaza and then go compare it to Israel

Parkingt111 · 22/10/2023 14:32

@mushti I have had some very productive conversations with some pro Israel posters on here
But you are nothing but full of hatred
Isn't a large part of judaism about showing kindness?
And not just to other fellow Jews but also to gentiles

With massive financial
aid from the US.
Israel is the largest recipient of financial aid from the US since WW2.
Yet after 75 years they are still unable to get on with ANY of their neighbours.

Coughingdodger · 22/10/2023 14:38

And while leeching off the US they have effectively imprisoned Gaza and blocked every effort it has made to advance itself as an economy.

Coughingdodger · 22/10/2023 14:39

And now thinks it’s ok to murder thousands of innocent children. But it’s not Israel’s FAULT they’re murdering thousands of children. It’s the Gazans’ fault. All of them.

Reallifelurker · 22/10/2023 14:40

why do you imagine that is?

Because they didn’t have lots of cash and backing from the West ?
Because most of them were driven out in the Nakba?
Because they are oppressed and their lands are occupied by Israel?
Because most of them live in ghetto prisons?
Because they don’t have any country/state of their own just the aforementioned ghetto’s?

I should clarify, it’s not every Israeli who agrees with their leadership. But I believe those who try speak out against child slaughter in their name are threatened with job loss or worse (eg Israel Frey).
I’m not so sure that Israel is truly a democracy.

And yet the Palestinian people who (I think you’d say) do get on with their neighbours haven’t been able to drum up any significant source of foreign aid from the many kindly-disposed and oil-rich Arab and Muslim nations of the world.

why is that?

Parkingt111 · 22/10/2023 14:43

@mushti everytime I see another one of your arrogant posts I think leave her she's hurting. But your really taking the biscuit. A little respect can go a long way. We can differ but still be respectful to each other.

Many Jews believe that, by showing kindness, people can try to heal the world. Jews aim to show kindness to others as the Torah teaches that people should love others in the same way that they love themselves.
Love your fellow as yourself.

THERE IS A BLOCKADE IN GAZA. YOU KNOW VERY WELL WHAT AID ENTERS IS RESTRICTED

The Muslim brotherhood got their back if that counts. Not sure I’d call them kindly disposed though.

Judaism is about kindness, but it’s also about not being the world’s doormat. We finished with that in 1945. Things have gone much better for us since.

I believe that Judaism also teaches that when you know someone has a plan to murder you it’s a commandment to get up early to kill them first. “Turning the other cheek” is a Christian precept.

Edited

There was no blockade of Gaza until 2007, after Hamas took over.

For Palestinians looking to improve their circumstances, it’s difficult to argue Hamas has been a success.

It’s the fault of Hamas not the ordinary Palestinian. An Israeli life isn’t worth more than an Palestinian

Given that Hamas are murdering people in terrorist attacks and no-one can stop them no matter how much Gaza is bombed maybe Israel’s foreign policy hasn’t been a massive success either.

Interesting I actually didn't know that
So what are the rules about killing the other person first?
Does it have rules on collateral damage?

Leviticus 19:1

I have respect for the Palestinians, and I have respect for your views. What I don’t feel is mercy.

Loving people who are trying to kill you is a Christian concept.

Leviticus 19:18 (I think you mean) says וְאָֽהַבְתָּ֥ לְרֵעֲךָ֖ כָּמ֑וֹךָ

How you translate it into another language and what you understand it to mean, varies widely.

Reallifelurker · 22/10/2023 15:05

oh that’ll give you the advantage. Hamas have bucket loads of mercy 🙄

Parkingt111 · 22/10/2023 15:06

@mushti so what are the laws surrounding this commandment. Surely its not just black and white.
How can one determine who is a threat?
Also how to ascertain your enemy wants to kill you?
What are the prerequisites that you need to be sure of before you kill the other person first?

How does the law judge who was going to kill who first and if the subsequent murder is justified?
What would be the rule if someone tried to kill you and in order to kill them you had to kill their family too? Or whole neighbourhood?
