The 'rules'

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended)

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Resist the lure of ovulation predictor kits, Taking Control of Your Fertility and the dreaded First Repsonse. Knowing where you are in your cycle is entirely permissible though!

Going to the doctor is permitted if you've had a stupidly long cycle but beware of the dildo-cam-scan.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Yup it's me POAS tomorrow. Unless of course I've dreamt up all the exceedingly convincing symptoms my body is throwing at me and my AF turns up.

Oh Milano 12 days is an awfully long time to try and stay sane Wink

So anyone else due to POAS in the next couple of days?

milanomum · 02/09/2010 17:33

I know! I ov'd early so the wait is even longer than normal... I will go mad, you wait and see Wink

vallinnapod · 02/09/2010 18:56

Afternoon viroids!

So HyCoSy done. Glad I had a couple of hours to 'calm' down but it was just the adrenaline at the unexpected that had me jittery afterwards. Brassica it genuinely isn't that bad. It starts like a smear so uncomfy as they use the speculum to find the cervix and insert the catheter. The insertion bit feels like a REALLY bad period cramp but it only lasts a couple of seconds. Then they do a pelvic ultrasound. Confirmed my ovaries were still PCOs and also picked up a small fibroid in my uterus but apparently it is common and insignificant. Then they inject the dye. I will not lie this is like the WORST period cramps whilst someone is kicking you in the uterus. Again, it lasts a couple of seconds tops. It was quite unbearable but only because I didn't realise how quickly it would be over. I think armed with that knowledge I would have been less 'squeeky'! But the nurse was really sweet and kept rubbing my hand. The dye was inserted in 3 separate shots so this was repeated. All is fine though, nice clear tubes!

Felt absolutely fine immediately afterwards, left straight away and got the bus home. Had I had to go back to work I would have done.

Hope this helps xxx

BrassicaBabe · 02/09/2010 19:59

Oops, sorry I got confused milano/nomore

Thanks for the update vallinna It's helpful to know the nastiness doesn't last long. Glad everything turned up clear too. Now we just need the drugs to kick in for you! Any art work to show for the experience?! Grin

Feck, only CD 5 for me! 5 days to be before HyCoSy, 6 days to go before SWI and 8 days to go before the madness of 2WW begins! I am R-E-A-L-L-Y going to have to stop working from home and to drag my arse into the office. I'm going to be sectioned before we get knocked up at this rate!!

kat2504 · 02/09/2010 20:12

grr keep trying to post without success tonight. wrote plenty in last attempt but lost now. Oh well!
vallinapod you must be very brave! I'd have booked myself a whole day off for something sounding so painful. But then I am a wimp. And would have been trying to elicit tramadol from the staff lol. Hope the procedure proves useful for your ttcing

I want to be able to POAS!!!!!! Am starting to go mental. grrrr!

takingtheplunge · 02/09/2010 21:26

Can't keep up with all the posting!

vanilla that sounds unpleasant..hope it's all leading up to some answers and ultimately a BFP for you!

DH still doing stupid hours (6am-8pm) and it's a very physical job so is cream crackered when he gets home. Bang on mid cycle and loads of EWCM and no freaking shagging Angry cos he's too tired. I don't blame him, I wouldn't want to shag either if I were him. Thought we might manage a bit of JSing at the weekend, which is probably too late, but you never know, but now looks like he has to work Saturday as well. So that's this month down the crapper. Sigh.

cowboylover · 02/09/2010 22:14

Oh gim glad you survived that and you get some good results from it soon.

My DH is on nights again next week so better get some in this weekend but I think im due on Monday but can never be 100%

I am considering a new job jole which would mean 3 days a week on average away from home and when I look at the sceduals I wont be getting any BFP's until March as not together when ovulating unti February Confused can I not take it or change the plans as I might need to be having sex that week?!

baby2b · 02/09/2010 22:20

Just a quick one...back at work today so need to catch up on everyones posts. Hope you are all good.

I ovulated today, but DH has gone on a boozy night with the boys Biscuit We js twice yesterday and will hopefully, depending on his hangover manage it tomorrow night. Do you think it is important to js on the exact day?

baby2b · 02/09/2010 22:23

Omg, sorry Cowboylover...never seen your post. Here's me stupidly worrying about missing one day. Where is that kipper . I am going to be a nightmare this 2ww!

cowboylover · 02/09/2010 22:50

No worries!

I think as long as sperm is present you have a good chance as it lives inside for 5 days (eugh!) but on the day is the best.

And that is what I shall be sticking with! I wonder if I can change my ovulation day as a Tuesday is really not good with wmy schedual Smile

milanomum · 03/09/2010 08:01

that sounded really unpleasant vallinna glad it was worth it for the good news though!

cowboy wouldn't it be great if you could choose ovulation day? I was spending hours on google doing a bit of research about when the best time is to do the deed and they mostly say the days immediately before and ov day itself so once you've ovd there's no point, but i don't know how reliable that info is:

www.wdxcyber.com/ninfer11.htm

BrassicaBabe · 03/09/2010 08:35

Where's nomore?! Surely she and DH have had shared POAS moment by now?! Grin

Comeon girl, you can't still being holding onto the FMU, you'll burst! GrinWink

BrassicaBabe · 03/09/2010 08:43

Sorry for you guys with the knackered DHs and horrid work schedules. I feel your pain! I've turned down offers to be put up over night in hotels and driven 3 hours home, just to do the same the following morning all in the JS cause!

And this time the 2ww prior to the 2ww is causing me as much mental ness as the 2ww itself! Wink

takethatlady · 03/09/2010 09:34

Well I'm 2 weeks into my usual 5ww before the 2ww! Gah! Had a tummy ache this morning and thought it might be ovulation pains, but it turned out I just needed the toilet Blush. Along with boob pokeage I am also becoming a keen cervix tickler. Think I'm getting a bit pre-EWCM, which would mean the agnus castus is working its magic and I might ov a bit sooner. Is there any bit of my body I can't stick my fingers into?

Sorry for the painful tests vallinna but yip yip for clear tubes and insignificant fibroids!

I really think I hear the sound of nomore peeing on a stick though ... silence speaks volumes, methinks?

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 03/09/2010 09:47

Sorry to disappoint girls. Pee stick says no. But then it is only 9 days past ov! Assuming AF stays MIA I'm now on the 1WW to POAS again. Nearly did burst waiting for DH to get out the door this morning, phew.

TakeThat I believe you're not supposed to put your finger in your ears.

Hurrah for nothing worse than a bit of tie dying in your tubes Vallinna. Hmm spotty ovaries and tie dyed tubes, that is quite a fanjo potato painting!

I was reading yesterday that some sperm can reach the egg in half an hour but others can take a few days, so really a bit of casual JS in the days leading up to ov can be very beneficial (and fun of course).

BrassicaBabe · 03/09/2010 09:58

pmsl at takethat the cervix tickler Grin I do that too! GrinBlush I don't get to notice EWCM otherwise.

Sorry for BFN nomore, but you are right 9 DPO is blinkin early! We look forward to sharing your mental next 7 day Grin

I think for sperm to reach the egg in half an hour must take a supersonic shag Shock Something to aim for eh viroids?!

JosieSmith1 · 03/09/2010 10:23

Morning everyone

I have only JSed once this week [shocked] so not much chance of a BFP after 2ww for me Sad but going to go for it tonight as a last chance saloon type thing Grin. Then I can recommence my crazy symptom spotting as I'm sure you all miss my crazy and not at all made up symptoms Grin

takethatlady · 03/09/2010 11:15

Oh sorry you got a BFN nomore. Last month I got a BFN on 9DPO, and my BFPs from 11DPO onwards (didn't test on 10DPO as I was a bit hungover Hmm)

Tbh, I think we're all just practising our parenting skills. vallinna's got her arts and crafts down to a fine art (who doesn't want tie dye and potato paintings stuck on their kitchen wall? Grin) and the rest of us are sticking our fingers in all our orifices as I'm sure our babies will soon be doing. It's all good practice! And yes, I stick my fingers in my ears too sometimes, though not to see if I'm ovulating Blush

JosieSmith1 · 03/09/2010 13:01

I can just see a room full of women poking and prodding themselves in boobs and all available orifices Grin Grin

At least we can find the humorous side(s) in TTC! Grin

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 03/09/2010 13:17

No wonder you're missing your JSing windows. Poking should be left to DH(DP, OH..)'s. Do we need a biology lesson here?

Still no AF here and that mysterious low grade nausea is back for the 3rd day running Grin.

TakeThat last month I tested +ive at 17DPO so think I'm in for a long week! Have sent last months defective glue back. If this month is another +ive and it sticks I'll send some of my replacement glue your way.

takethatlady · 03/09/2010 13:27

I think I only used blue tac last month so maybe that's why Hmm. Didn't know you could get glue too!

Good luck no more! Does anyone know if you can induce ovulation through mind control or exercise? It never worked when I tried to improve my bust (I must, I must ...) but it might work now!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 03/09/2010 13:32

Aren't you supposed to think happy thoughts?

No, sorry, that's flying.

SnowpeaWithEnthusiasm · 03/09/2010 13:44

But hey, they both involve dust, so maybe happy thoughts is on the right track!

takethatlady · 03/09/2010 13:53

Happy thoughts it is! [Not sure what constitutes happy in this sense ... picturing babies seems a bit freaky! Maybe I'll just picture my ovaries releasing an egg with a little smile on its face. Like this: Smile)Thanks ladies!

On a serious note, I hope you're feeling okay about what happened last time nomore. I feel totally fine about it though I do have the odd wobbly moment still. Think that's why I'm so eager to ovulate and get going again!

BrassicaBabe · 03/09/2010 15:31
