The 'rules'

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended)

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Resist the lure of ovulation predictor kits, Taking Control of Your Fertility and the dreaded First Repsonse. Knowing where you are in your cycle is entirely permissible though!

Going to the doctor is permitted if you've had a stupidly long cycle but beware of the dildo-cam-scan.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

the minute DS goes down for a nap we're at it like rabbits if it's a weekend or the minute he's in bed in the evening we nip up and shag like mad. Otherwise if I wait til bedtime I'm too tired.
Last time I checked the toilet brush holder got a BFN Smile.
Coming up to mid cycle and feeling more frisky, anyone else get this? DH doing long hours from Monday, right around mid cycle so chances probably not great this month. ho hum. bring on the shagging.

HarderToKidnap · 28/08/2010 22:14

OK, knickers back on tonight then. I usually pee straight after sex to combat UTIs but haven't the last two nights and it's quite amazing how little "stuff" comes out when I get up in the morning. It must be going somewhere!

I have been drinking soooo much recently - keep thinking "well, I might be pregnant soon so I'd better get all my drinking in now". Not big amounts, but very frequent!

Re: folic acid, all tablets say that. It's so you don't choke and sue them. My folic acid tabs are tiny though?

QUESTION: I am on CD 15 today. Have been peeing on OPKs on CD 12, 13, 14 and today. Yesterday I had a positive on an old fashioned "interpret the lines" OPK but negative on a ClearbLue digital. Did I have a surge or not?

HarderToKidnap · 28/08/2010 22:15

When I say "peeing on OPKs" I mean "dipping them into my toothbrush holder", obviously.

takingtheplunge · 28/08/2010 22:18

Yes HTK my folic acid tabs are small too. I also pee after sex as seem to be a bit prone to UTIs. Had 2 in pregnancy with DS and still wonder if a UTI was the reason he came 4 weeks early.

NervousNelly · 28/08/2010 23:26

Hmm they are the Boots Mum to Be I think - multi vits plus folic acid. They are about 1.5 cm long, oval shaped, and maybe just under a cm wide at widest point. Bigger than normal ibuprofen or anything like that?

So not quite horse tranquiliser sized (which in any case is done by injection LOL!) but big enough Shock

takethatlady · 29/08/2010 10:31

Mine are giant too - Sanatogen 'mother to be' tablets. They're pale orange and they're getting on for 2cm x 1cm. They hurt!

Anyone else on agnus castus? How long does it bloody take to work? CD12 for me and absolutely no sign of OV whatsoever. No pant snot, nothing even approaching or resembling pant snot. Looks like another 48 day f*ing cycle for me. Angry

Great name for a new thread brassica!

PMSL at the fanny fart taking? There's nothing better than a fanny fart to kill the mood!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 29/08/2010 10:47

So happy to hear I'm not the only victim of fanny farts! Poor DS had no idea why I was laughing toast all over the table as I caught up this morning. Grin

Now can someone please tell me to step away from google and explain to me that I just had a bizarre, AF feeling stomach ache last night that had nothing to do with implantation, as 3 days past ov is to early (kipper optional). Thank you.

takethatlady · 29/08/2010 10:53

Sorry to post twice (again) but I've woken up feeling really fed up today. I know there are much worse situations on here but I'm sick of long cycles. I just want them to get back to normal so I can at least have two weeks shagging, 2 week (still shagging) wait. Instead, I've had 32 days but I don't know if I ovulated, 47 days (ovulated on CD34), and what would have been 49 days (ovulated on CD36, BFPs CD46, CD47, and CD48, but mc at 51 days). Now I'm only CD12 and I just want to get on with it, and nothing is happening. I'm sick of waiting 5 weeks for OV, then having my two week wait and then having to start all over again. I know the agnus castus is meant to take a couple of months to kick in but FFS! Any tips on what I can do (other than agnus castus which isn't working yet, though I'll persevere) to kickstart ovulation?

takethatlady · 29/08/2010 10:55

Cross-posted with you nomorechoc. I'll slap you with that kipper if you slap me back and tell me to stop being so impatient!

3 days past ovulation is too early for implantation. But perhaps it's a sign that something is going on? [slaps self with kipper for encouraging people to go nuts ... Smile]

NervousNelly · 29/08/2010 11:03

takethat phew I was beginning to think that there was some dodgy Boots employee who had swapped my tablets for something far more sinister a la the Supermarket Poisoner Shock. I will continue to wash down with wine then!

Sorry to hear about lack of pant snot (now there's a sentence I didn't think I'd ever write). No idea about Agnus Cactus as I appear to be a rather average 28 day-er, but on the plus side, you could look on this as an excuse to JS as much as possible, all the time, just in case!Grin

nomore - step away from the internet. Kipper duly applied.

Oooh by the way just realised I already have a Gu Ramekin in my bathroom! My weird cats prefer to drink out of glass than anything (we have to use bottles at the side of our bed otherwise you get woken in the middle of the night by a cat slurping up your water), and also (even more weirdly) they prefer to drink in the bathroom rather than the kitchen. So I can now keep a "spare" ramekin in there - no suspicion aroused Wink.

I will however have to hide the Horse Tranquilisers at the weekend as my sister is coming to stay, and the MUM TO BE all over the label is not exactly subtle Hmm

NervousNelly · 29/08/2010 11:06

Sorry cross posted takethat - sorry to hear your frustrations. I know it's small consolation, but at least you know you must be ovulating at some point, and you can conceive. I've also read on here that MC can make you hyper-fertile, so fingers crossed for you.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 29/08/2010 11:36

Slaps Takethat with kipper, although if I were in your shoes I'd be just as feed up.

Have stepped away from the google now, I promise. It was just a minor infraction.

Nervous, I'm now feeling very nervous for you cats. I can just see an awful ramekin/pee/kitty accident waiting to happen.

takingtheplunge · 29/08/2010 14:50

takethat that's crap. I have long cycles but not as bad as that.

Moving into what the calendar says is my fertile period so going to attempt to shag as much as poss in the next week or so.

milanomum · 29/08/2010 15:06

takethat That's shite. It's annoying enough trying to get day 14-ish right so i can't imagine what it must be like for you...

nervous Your cats sound very house-trained - any glass or are they partial to a wine glass like the rest of us?

Re socks etc... :o it's all so fecking random isn't it? Some people get pregnant at the drop of a hat, some don't. I wish the colour of your socks could improve fertility.

My shag cape is well in use already - day 11-ish here so in the warm-up stage :) I should ov right about the day I go back to work BAH! harder I am always disgusted amazed at how much 'stuff' does come out the next day...maybe there's a lilet still stuck up there from a while ago Hmm Or maybe i need to lie with my legs up for the entire night.

choc you never know...

BrassicaBabe · 29/08/2010 15:08

And it's CD1 for me. Here we go again. Month 7 for me now. Shove up vallinna, I'll share your colmid bench. First dose tomorrow. And thank God, I'm not yet one of those women who cries when AF arrives. So I spent 2 days moping, but that was just PMT not "mad ttc woman". Hindsight is a great thing! Grin

takethat remind me, have you seen your GP? Would the clomid option be one for you? I've got regular periods and think I'm ovulating, but was given clomid anyway. I think it also regulates cycles and things. Just a thought?

I made a gooey chocolate pudding from GF magazine for dinner. Feeling v full now!

Well, according to thread ethos we don't use OPKs harder My only advice would be to stick with one manufacturer/type in any one cycle. I pee on 100s many OPKs each cycle and I only ever get one Smile about 2pm in the afternoon.

takethatlady · 29/08/2010 18:57

Thanks ladies, you guys always cheer me up. brassica that choc pud sounds amazing. I was just looking at a recipe for bread and butter pudding with chocolate-beer sauce and it looks gooey and gorgeous. I had sweets for breakfast today though so I reckon I've had enough sugar for today.

I haven't seen my GP about the irregular cycles. I'm going to see what happens this cycle - if the numbers start coming down on the agnus castus I won't bother, but if it's 7 weeks again I'll toddle down there. They're going to be sick of me!

milanomum we had to watch a video about safe tampon use when I was in school and it specifically warned against inadvertently leaving wayward Lillets up there Shock. You can't be too careful!

Nervous your cats are weird Grin

takethatlady · 29/08/2010 18:58

Sorry it's CD1 for you brassica. AF is a bitch, isn't she?

NervousNelly · 29/08/2010 20:13

CD1 for me too Brassica - I think we are on the same timelines! Slightly alarmingly, though, I've realised there are no more lilets in the house. Must have been feeling too confident that I'd be pg by now, and not bothered buying any Hmm. Off to the shops first thing for me then.

milano - just tumblers - the wine glasses are too tall Grin. Plus they'd have to wrestle them off me. Takethat - weird??? How very dare you ShockWink

Choc pud is making me hungry! I have a rolo dessert in the fridge. Not exactly healthy, but it'll have to do.

baby2b · 29/08/2010 20:45

Hey ladies, just back from weekend break...going to have a quick read up on what I have missed.....

milanomum · 29/08/2010 20:58

:( brassica - at least it was PMT and it's positive that you are starting clomid, right? It means 'doing' rather than just 'waiting'... i'm beigining to wonder how long i'll last - i might go see my GP sometime soon but don't know about CLomid over here - will have to ask. I almost bought an ovulation test kit but talked myself out of it (helped by the fact they are rather expensive) by thinking i wouldn't get the use out of it so it's be a waste. nothing like positive thinking...

drooling smiley for choc pud - mmmmm!

I have strange Ov-type symptoms this evening which hasn't half confused me considering I am at most on day 11. DH won't know what hit him if I jump him later, just in case :o

baby2b · 29/08/2010 21:08

Wow ladies, it's been all go on here Grin

Pmsl at peeing in a toothbrush holder harder

DH and I managed to js five times while away, mostly fuelled by very strong cocktails (beer for the dh). Not ov yet, but it can't hurt to send some swimmers on up there can it?

Sorry for those that got caught out by evil AF.

Choc pud...yum!

BrassicaBabe · 29/08/2010 22:42

what about buying opks from eBay milano?

HarderToKidnap · 30/08/2010 00:37

OK, PIAR and dipped an, ahem, OPK into it earlier. Perhaps we should refer to OPKs by a codename so as not to interfere with the ethos of the thread? Maybe Twix?

So anyway, definite positive on my ClearBlue digital Twix so JSing tonight. That will be the fourth night in a row! Poor DH must only have little dribbles left.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 30/08/2010 09:11

Harder, what on earth were you doing on here at nearly 1am when there was some serious SWIJSing to be doing?

Serious symptom spotting Nothing going on here, not even a bank holiday (except for the banks). So going to palm DS off on DH this pm and enjoy some child free errands sunshine. Have a good day all Smile

takethatlady · 30/08/2010 09:57

Harder you gotta get going! Hope the shagathon is going well :) Have a great day choc

Just wanted to ask: has anybody using agnus castus noticed their bbt is lower? Mine has been 96.8 every single day since I started taking it (10 days). On the fertility charts I thought it was rare you'd go below 97 degrees?

Depressed myself by googling 'late ovulation fertility' today. Apparently if you ovulate after day 20 the lining is too old for an egg to be likely to implant successfully, and the egg will be of lower quality. Wondering if this had anything to do with the mc and totally fucked off that it's going to happen again this cycle. Better book that trip to the docs asap.

Off for a drive to the north Norfolk coast. IT's pretty far from here, so we'd better get going!
